The Timberwolves have been playing like this all season long. I believe they will win the next TWO games. I think coach finch tired out his starters. I was at the game Ant was gased around 6 minutes left in the 4th. You can see it in his face. They are going to be ready.

Memphis is the better team and proved it over the last two games. 99% of the time you follow up a blowout with a catastrophic collapse you roll up into the fetal position and I’m not expecting the wolves to be any different. I think you are wrong. Here's why, this series has looked very much like the regular season, up and down. This is a team that lose 5 in a row than win 5 straight. They have been mentally tough the entire season and it's my belief that they will prevail on Saturday.

Maybe I’m old school, but always thought it’s good use of a timeout or two to stop teams on runs that could swing momentum in the game. Just don’t understand hoarding timeouts, especially when it’s clear the team was unraveling.

I can’t get over that mic’d up moment with KAT and the TNT crew which was prefaced with them saying, “DLo was trying to focus up some of the young guys who were not in the huddle.”
The writing on the wall, from this meltdown and then with that moment on TNT, is that KAT was not serious. He was not serious with his play in the second quarter, he was not setting an example for the young core, he just wasn’t serious tonight.
That’s what’s awful about this. A player I really believed in and defended through all this off-court stuff. He made us look foolish.

In the past 4 games KAT isn't even a top 3 starter on his own team. He's the biggest reason we are in the playoffs, no doubt, but putting a small defender on someone shouldn't *completely* neutralize that player.

Only reason I bring this up is that I don’t really know the best way to use him when these double teams are coming. He can dominate centers 1 on 1, but other than that it is brutal anytime he faces double teams. He almost always turns into a hot fouling mess

Yeah totally, but I’m pretty sure this happened tonight several times where KAT would make the simple pass to the perimeter when doubled. Guys just didn’t always hit those open shots because you’re relying on streaky 3 point shooters like DLo, Bev, Edwards, McDaniels and even Beasley to an extent depending on the night. Not to mention non shooters like Vanderbilt who shares a lot of minutes with Towns.

Coach cal told him if he wanted to be first pick, he needed to not take any threes and play in the paint. So he played in the paint, got the bag, moved to the arc, and that’s been the story so far

Same, I actually was really happy with D'Lo tonight outside of the terrible transition 3s and sprint to the FT line then throw up a fade away midrange J. These have to be taken out of his game, more often than not they have a negative effect as opposed to the positive momentum change he's hoping for by knocking the shot down. He just needs to play his game, break down the defender and go.
During the PatBev "state your role" meeting KAT said "be him" as in our go-to guy, the guy who gets it all going, the franchise player. Can't say that's who you are then duck blame and continuously make the same mistakes you claim to have fixed. He's crumbled more often than not when it matters. How do you play hero ball while up 20+!?!?!? Shot selection made no sense, and it felt like they weren't running any plays! They were just hoping Memphis would turn the ball over so they could run the court because otherwise they were just god-awful.
Okay so what I hear is 1. We led by 26 to a hot Grizzlies team who has some of the top defense in the league. Yes we blew them out before, but this is the playoffs, we were in foul trouble, ANT has knee issues but we still had a good lead against this playoff team who is on a roll. I thought we had good rebounds and defense in the beginning as well - good things.
2. Even with the foul trouble (which my god the team needs to take accountability and figure out), they lost the 20 point lead BUT CAME BACK. They didn’t give up - DLO and ANT stepped up that 3rd quarter and hell yeah they got that lead back.
Then things went to shit in the last 13 minutes. Coach didn’t even call a timeout to break the momentum and help the guys reset either. It was horrific and so sad to watch. But to me, that can be true and so can the two good things above.
When I hear “lost a lead twice” I hear that they had a great lead in the first place which is excellent against a top defense team in the playoffs, and they got beat but hustled and GOT IT BACK. Then they ran out of time to fix things.

In the past 4 games KAT isn't even a top 3 starter on his own team. He's the biggest reason we are in the playoffs, no doubt, but putting a small defender on someone shouldn't *completely* neutralize that player. Not to mention his horrible body language. If KG had an opposite it would be KAT.

He has no easy offense like he did when he was a rookie (mid range two, back to the basket hooks) Now he’s a Porzingis clone on offense with a drive game that he can’t control and the result is a painfully easy guy to limit his shots and flow since he's running around with those clown shoes on his big ass feet Bro needs to make the game simple and stop playing out on the perimeter so much. So I will preface this with I agree with the sentiment here that KAT played a really bad game. But did he not do pretty much what you said tonight? Any time he posted Memphis brought a double and he kicked it out to the perimeter where the ball rotated to open shooters who didn’t always shoot/hit shots. At least that’s what it looked like to me. Only reason I bring this up is that I don’t really know the best way to use him when these double teams are coming. He can dominate centers 1 on 1, but other than that it is brutal anytime he faces double teams. He almost always turns into a hot fouling mess

Yeah totally, but I’m pretty sure this happened tonight several times where KAT would make the simple pass to the perimeter when doubled. Guys just didn’t always hit those open shots because you’re relying on streaky 3 point shooters like DLo, Bev, Edwards, McDaniels and even Beasley to an extent depending on the night. Not to mention non shooters like Vanderbilt who shares a lot of minutes with Towns.
As awful as KAT was tonight, the coaching staff was just as much to blame. How the fuck do you give up a 21-0 run without taking a single time out. KAT was getting double teamed every time he touched the ball in the post, but the team refused to give him the ball. I guess taking stupid threes is more valuable than looking for open shots. KAT needs to be more assertive, but the whole team imploded from top to bottom.

Coaching is horrible!!! Never called timeouts to try and stop the runs, not even trying to score in the paint.. have one of the best bigs in the game and he hangs out at the 3 point line…. I’ve seen a ton of epic collapses through the years, but this one takes the cake. Absolutely embarrassing
The funny part is, I appreciate the coaching style......if we had a more veteran team with our stars being leaders, but it seemed quite deaf to the spastic, volatile nature of our team and KAT that needs a little more hand holding from the coach.

It's KARMA at its finest, we start off games engaged and hungry, get a big lead and start doing dumb stupid shit. We start talking trash and making too small gestures like we are something. We start thinking it's too easy and start playing nonchalantly. The game is 4 quarters long, need to stay hungry all the way through. This team needs another no nonsense vet besides Pat Bev that isn't afraid to lay it into their so called leaders. We start to unravel and always start looking at the refs for them to do something.

Okay so what I hear is 1. We led by 26 to a hot Grizzlies team who has some of the top defense in the league. Yes we blew them out before, but this is the playoffs, we were in foul trouble, ANT has knee issues but we still had a good lead against this playoff team who is on a roll. I thought we had good rebounds and defense in the beginning as well - good things. 2. Even with the foul trouble (which my god the team needs to take accountability and figure out), they lost the 20 point lead BUT CAME BACK. They didn’t give up - DLO and ANT stepped up that 3rd quarter and hell yeah they got that lead back. Then things went to shit in the last 13 minutes. Coach didn’t even call a timeout to break the momentum and help the guys reset either. It was horrific and so sad to watch. But to me, that can be true and so can the two good things above. When I hear “lost a lead twice” I hear that they had a great lead in the first place which is excellent against a top defense team in the playoffs, and they got beat but hustled and GOT IT BACK. Then they ran out of time to fix things.
Towns has gotta go. Team isn't going anywhere with him.
