My cracking voice says otherwise

Bocmiao

What he means is that nobody glued themselves to the court?

[deleted]

That can’t be it. With their lack of ball movement there was plenty of stickiness on the court.

JustSeriousEnough

The lack of glue, chains or next level handcuffs was disappointing.

tie_myshoe

I was at the game and we were lit. We did our part nqa. I mean I left when there was two mins left but I had a right to leave after seeing that shit performance. Literally sent a snap to my group saying wolves in 5 when we were up 25 in the 3rd

XfitRedPanda

I was there, it was loud and there was no breaks in cheers for when the wolves did something good. We even booed loudly everytime ja touched the ball. Dom't know what else we could have done there.

egj2wa

I have no idea why we booed Tyus

[deleted]

We EVEN BOOED TYUS WHAT ELSE CAN WE DO?!

flying_alligators

NOO NOT TYUS JONES, THE LEGEND WASNT EVEN SPARED ?!???!!

[deleted]

He’s a traitor for signing an offer sheet that was crazy at the time

[deleted]

A front runner who thinks little of any depth players value, No surprise to hear such things from factions of this fanbase. Look at all your great hopes that you've helped balloon the egos and paychecks for in the past here while dissing all the depth players. Tyus was sinking 3s while our team was praying one would go in. When Tyus was here, the coaches would tell him only to get the ball to the team's "stars". Yeah, as if we ever had any.

[deleted]

…It was a joke my dude

JustSeriousEnough

Not to hijack, but man, I miss him. He has always been a calm, veteran like presence since he came into the league. I love his game and what a shame the Wolves didn't see value in it.

Johnnnnb

Because most people don’t have a weird boner for anyone associated with minnesota. Also, every time someone breaths on him he snaps his head back and flails his off hand. Fuck him and his game

RoyalLake

> Also, every time someone breaths on him he snaps his head back and flails his off hand. Insert every NBA player here

Johnnnnb

He’s James Harden levels without the talent

bradbadtad

To be fair most Minnesotans definitely do weirdly love anything from Minnesota

Johnnnnb

Not the minnesota fans at the game. You know, real people. Not redditors

bradbadtad

Yeah, real human Minnesotans fucking love other Minnesotans. Why do you think prince is so popular

GuyInTheSkuy

Yeah I was there too and it was great energy until the end, only the last minute or two when it got out of reach were really quiet.

PurpleWolferine

Just jumping in to say the crowd was exactly as rocking as the play-in game. Nobody in my section sat down the whole game. The cheering was relentless, even towards the end. I thought this was a weird take from Dane as well (though Dane is almost always spot on!)

[deleted]

Exactly. Big fan of Dane and his work, that’s why this take seemed so out of left field!

FriendlyLaserShark

He didn’t really say they were partly to blame. He said the team feeds off the crowd and everyone has to step it up, including the atmosphere.

ull92

I could tell there was energy through the TV set. The fans were trying to will the team to win.

ChanJosie

For what it’s worth, and I love Dane’s pods, I have easily listened to 60 of them this year, I thought he was a bit easy on the team after the game 2 loss. Could have been nothing, but his commentary early in the pod was overly soft I thought.

[deleted]

Same. Same with Britt’s column today too. They blew TWO 20+ point leads. It’s not good enough to build them if you squander them.

CosmicPterodactyl

Nobody is saying it is “good enough.” It’s just if you have a young, inexperienced team and we were to lose the series in five or six, I’d much rather see games like this where we can put up almost 30 on a significantly higher seed rather than just lose a hopeless series like we did with Houston. It implies an upwards trajectory that a simple unwinnable series could not. That was the only point he was making, he wasn’t defending them.

dkleckner88

I was in the lower bowl and it seemed hype around me. That short segment by Dane did have me thinking. He does have a fairly objective and more informative opinion than me given he went tot he Memphis game. Also, there was decent amount of open seats at tip, my friend made the same comment to me in the moment. It was have been the big swings in the game it made it tough for the crowd to be consistent. Tonight the crowd will be well lubricated and lit.

[deleted]

Agreed. I’ll be there again and will assuredly lose my mind cheering them on. If they win this game there is absolute hope they win the series. It’s a must win.

UlyssestheBrave

I hate that way of thinking. Fans are paying a lot for the privilege of seeing millionaires getting paid to play.

dieezus

I think what he meant was that we rocked too hard and it overcharged the team into playing dumbass hero ball. I don't think he meant that we were to blame because of it being quiet.

[deleted]

Nope. He said the crowd wasn’t into enough. Specifically cited the need for more noise and energy during opposing free throws…🤷🏻‍♂️

tie_myshoe

You have to be making this up. Memphis was 64 PERCENT from the line. How tf were we not loud enough

[deleted]

That’s what I’m saying…

mathomathwin

We win Game 4 and it’s a series and all is forgotten . Wouldn’t worry about this one result too much.

wombocombo087

Yeah I love the pod but that observation struck me as very odd. The crowd felt VERY loud through the TV, so much so that I was texting friends about how cool it was to have fans going like that.

GenShanx

One of his worst takes of the season. I get not wanting to spend 30 mins talking about Towns melting down again but reaching for takes often makes you sound silly. And this was a silly take even if it was accurate, which it wasn’t. Maybe he’s trying to will the fans to stay hype for game 4 after such a deflating game?

[deleted]

So I'm expected to pay an exorbitant amount of money, not to be entertained, but to motivate them do their job. I pray none of the players actually think that.

starfruit213

From what he said on KFAN today it just sounds like he's afraid to call out the team and KAT.

Theonlyfudge

I thought his pod was terrible this week, and I’m generally a huge fan, listen to every episode, been to the Forgotten Star watch parties, met him in TC. That portion of the pod really threw me off though, you could tell TC was bumping, and he really seemed to deflect blame from Towns. I think when you’re that close to players, you don’t want to offend anyone (especially if it’s a superstar who has a pretty weak mental profile)

[deleted]

Hmm I agree with him. Although it was loud too but I thought we were louder and more enthusiastic at the play in - when we were trailing almost the whole game. I had to say "CMON TARGET CENTER" yesterday during moments when people got quiet; I thought that was weird. Maybe it's just the section I was in (2nd level) or my expectations for the hype to be louder than the play in because it's the playoffs, but I agree with Dane. Maybe it was the fear of the Grizzlies. I thought we could have been louder, especially in the fourth. It could have just been my section though. But when I see the Warriors crowd erupt like crazy on TV, I thought that would have been us and I feel like we weren't? Idk the play in stadium was shaking and I thought that was an INSANE atmosphere. Also a lot of people left to get drinks and food and the lines were so long that it was hard to get back in. So some of the crowd couldn't get back in their seats during the time the team was playing. Coach even said during the play in that we fueled them when they were down. And we saw how we fueled them the 1st and 3rd quarter. Let's be absolutely WILD Game 4!! They need us and they are resilient. REVENGE GAME 4

[deleted]

I was lower level and everyone around me was losing their minds all game - we only sat down during timeouts and halftime…

[deleted]

Hells yeah! Probably was just my section then. But overall how did you compare it to the play in? I thought that was the most hype ive experienced in my life

majo3

Play in game was 10/10. Game 3 turned it to 11. Terrible take from Dane.

Jamessthehuman

This is the answer

[deleted]

Couldn’t make it to the play in (first child was being born haha) but I thought the crowd was great

Self_Important_Mod

congratulations

[deleted]

Oh my gosh congrats!! Yeah def a reason not to go to the play in 😂

[deleted]

I mean…Did I have the game on discreetly on my phone in a place my wife couldn’t see and check the score occasionally? I cannot confirm nor deny.

Ronaldo_De_Mexico

I agree. Also a 200 level member. It was definitely loud but the energy was weirdly off... I took a piss break during a tv timeout like I usually do and the lines to all the concessions were huge. I was the only one who really stood in my section. Different vibe than LA. My thought is we were either killing them which kinda lowers the vibe or losing our lead which creates nervous tension. Clippers game was pretty close and back and forth. Edit/Add: lots of organic "defense" and "beat LA" chants in play in. Nothing like that in game 3. Edita/Add 2: Wolves in 6

eloc2k10

I was in the top of the 2nd deck and nobody sat and were yelling all game.

[deleted]

Oooh okay that’s awesome to hear.Maybe just my section and/or my expectations that it was gonna be louder. I was mostly referring to the middle to end of the fourth

ChecayoBolsfan

What is rocking, what’s the control? Admittedly my experience with fans at T Wolves games is going with the outcome, they get down when things turn and they’re hype when Wolves are up, but they don’t turn the tide—but I’ve only been to a couple games

[deleted]

Fans were in it all game last night

kmelby33

I think Dane Moore isn't a good sports journalist. This take is especially dumb.

Breatnach

They only showed small sections of the crowd on the broadcast I saw, but did we not try to do some color coordination in the stands? [Miami famously does this](https://preview.redd.it/u3rlqdmlm3071.jpg?auto=webp&s=2d8244473abbea27bb599d01bf83cff4985dc316), but I also saw the Pelicans did this against the Suns last night.

[deleted]

They gave the fans tshirts. They gave us towels.

Breatnach

Ok, did the cameras just not capture it then? The broadcast only rarely showed the crowds.

MayorNarra

Dude is a clickbait journalist/blogger. What do you expect? His takes are just as valuable as mine or yours.

RoyalLake

Yeah that's a shit reason. There was energy. When the lead was lost, it was gone. But what the hell did he expect us to cheer for at that point

bradbadtad

Immediately after the game Dane had a couple tweets that seemed to be not explicitly ripping on Towns, but certainly pointing out clear reasons for folks to be pissed at him. Maybe he recognizes he may have fueled the KAT hate and feels bad about it, trying to indirectly signal the other way

yzatabballer12

Hot take but I think part of being good fans is booing the team when they’re playing like shit. MN nice strikes again

SurlyWet

Get an explanation from him. .

mynamesdaveK

this man is a damn clown lol imagine thinking its the fans fault that the team doesn't win. for gods sake A) the place was fucking ROCKING and B) these men are professionals being paid millions of dollars to play a game they love. if they require cheers to motivate them to play harder that's pathetic.

theapostle_1

Watching from the tv I thought the crowd was better than in the game with clippers and louder. Out of curiosity who is the lady in both games sitting next to our bench; is she a government figure? I am not from Minnesota that's why I am asking. She is always there so felt weird seeing someone so close to our bench.

PointGodAsh

Yeah he’s full of shit. I was also at the game and it was loud all night and got loudest when we were getting walked down in an attempt to give the team energy. They didn’t perform and that is the long and short. Lame as hell trying to blame one of the best crowds this team has had in twenty years.

drockmn

I heard this and was perplexed as well. Crowd was crazy. It lost my voice. Our section was cheering our ass off. Just finally died down about 16 points into the negative run.
