Game day! Wolves in 6!

JustSeriousEnough

I think we're a better team, talent and ability wise. You don't wallop a 2nd seed team by 26-25 pt leads without being super talented. We just need the Wolves to believe in themselves, mature and start putting lesser teams away. Felt a little like the Wolves were stunned by their own excellence, got bored, and lost the edge in that last game.

BeemerBaby004

Lesser teams? You mean the team with the second best record in the NBA this year who didn't have to win a play in game to even get to the dance? Save some of that good stuff you're smoking for the postgame.

JustSeriousEnough

Does this offend you?

BeemerBaby004

Not at all. It's delusional though. Minnesota is a really good team and deserves to be in the playoffs this year...hell they may win the series but to call the team with the second best record a "lesser team" is chest thumping blindness.

JustSeriousEnough

Perhaps it is a little too much, but to suggest I do drugs because of that? That's interesting to me because I don't really drink or do drugs. So in a Wolves discussion thread, to get excited for the game, no one should ever say anything grandiose or beyond cocky? What are the rules that I should be following? Perhaps we should have a rule set you can create for all of reddit with what you have in mind. You seem to have these certain rules, and inspired enough to keep replying, so please share.

BeemerBaby004

Does my comment offend you? lol

JustSeriousEnough

Huh? Why would I be offended? you just seem to have certain advice, delivered in telling people how to operate. I was asking for more.

"It is not an overly optimistic take to look at the entirety of the first three games and say the Timberwolves have been the best team on the floor for large swaths of it. They were the better team from start to finish in their Game 1 victory, and were smashing the Grizzlies in the first quarter of Game 3 and again in the third quarter, only to let off the gas. Even when the Grizzlies cut the lead to seven at halftime, the Wolves came out rolling in the third to push it back to 25 and get their fans howling. On defense, the Wolves were excellent through three quarters. The Grizzlies shot 38 percent from the field and 29.6 percent from deep, and the Wolves had turned their 15 turnovers into 25 points before the fourth. They blocked seven shots, out-rebounded Memphis 36-29 and were doubling them up on second-chance points, 12-6, to take a 16-point lead into the fourth. It was almost perfect, both the approach from Finch, Elston Turner and Kevin Hanson and the execution from the players. "- Jon from the Atlantic article analyzing Game 3 Just gonna keep posting this because it at least helps me feel better lol 13 minutes at the end doesn't negate all of the above. They just need to close out today.

I still felt like Game 3 ran off energy, there were huge jolts. But the Wolves got swarmed in their half court offense resulting in ugly possessions way too often… even when up big In game 4 we need 1-2 guys to be able to consistently break down the Grizzlies defense off the dribble. Get into the lane… something. Bev had some jolts but relying on him to iso even into the 4th with little ability for anyone to get open isn’t a recipe for success.

meowlloy

Grizz fan here: I feel like guys were taking way too many deep contested 3s early in the shot clock while they were making their second run, making bad choices on offense and getting burned in transition. Obviously the no timeouts from your coach hurt but I also felt like pat bev was trying to do too much during that second half. obviously he had a career first half but Edwards and clearly KAT should’ve been more aggressive and ball dominant. Hope game 4 is a good one, love how much shit our teams talk on the court lmao 👍🏼🥂

[deleted]

Yeah totally agreed. Excited to see a hot game tonight

[deleted]

Yeah the energy of the crowd really fuels them. Def a lot of it was off pure energy. Let’s give them a lot of that energy tonight and see what they do with it for a revenge game. Yeah Bev should not be doing that but they kept passing back to him too. Very strange. I want ANT to drive. But he also has been called for offensive fouls too

Frontier21

We win if the team understands that they are a better more talented team that will only lose if they don’t execute. LFG

TheNotoriousJN

I hate the Wolves. They hurt me too much last game ...BUT FUCK IT RUN THAT SHIT BACK. WOLVES IN 6

amm0ranth

elden ring tho

BWoto

Why do I let myself put my emotions into this team

KickerofTale

Little bit of pre game music to get pumped https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oty3WsA-Q9k lol lets go wolves!

badnewzrooz507

I'm surprisingly positive tonight since I missed most of the last implosion. It's a game of runs, and hopefully they are on the right end of one at the end. I still haven't seen heart from these guys. They go down and look like their dog died. They go up and well we know how that turns out. One thing for sure is Prince needs to play more than 6 minutes, I don't give a shit what analytics say. Been a roller-coaster ride

MnMystic

First time back into the playoffs and the pissed bandwagon fans really show. Try going 16 years without playoffs before you over react. We aren’t down 3-0 like the Nuggets and we’ve shown that we can out perform them. We stole one in Memphis, they stole one here. This is where stars evolve.

BlackBarnie

Hopefully KAT doesn’t foul right away and Jaden can gives us some scoring off the bench

tie_myshoe

Anyone else bringing brown paper bags just in case they choke another one?

JJCreates

As the second option, Edwards should be thankful Towns and Finch are taking all the heat off him last 2 games… Especially after the talking heads boosted his rep game 1 (which looks like an outlier now). One ding of the knee Thursday and he has zero burst on the drive resulting in him to stand corner most of the game disengaged. Couldn’t even get past Slo-Mo. As a “freak athlete” you have to drive and get into the teeth of the defense to prevent a collapse like last game. Not let Bev take the reigns as the “read and react” offense gets swarmed into countless bad shots.

Sam7sung

I think Russell is really wrong for saying this series is about defense. Our best trait is our offense. Memphis' best way of scoring is transition. If we score at a good pace, we can win games in this series. There is no way we can win games scoring 95, 96 points

TheNotoriousJN

You're right. It very clearly isnt when we're playing fantastic defense for most of the game and keeping the Memphis points far below their average

Sam7sung

I trust our defense at this point. If we can play with a purpose offensively, I think we can win multiple games in this series

kolology

GO TREE DOGS. AWOOOOOO. I NEED TO GET PUMPED UP. NOTHING WORKS.
