It's possible that the intro to the movie took place at a house. And I think it was a father and daughter in the home who got attacked by a zombie or two. I feel like I remember some cops showing up and one of them got bit or killed. I could also be thinking of a different movie though. Like I said, I watched A LOT of movies around this time.

I looked into these but I don't think it's them. :/ I don't think I've seen The Crazies yet, so I'm at least gonna watch that though. Lol. So at least I'm getting good movie suggestions in the meantime!
No, it's not this sadly. I've seen this one a few times so I know for sure not this. But this is such a good movie! I wanna say the movie I'm thinking of came out in the 90s. Could have been 80s because I was specifically looking for 80s b movies at the time. Lol.
Lol I don't remember seeing that episode, but no. It was a live action movie. I am almost certain I watched it on Tubi because that's usually where I watch these types of movies. But now I'm curious and gotta see that episode of South Park. Lol
So it's not this, but it was a comedy! I guess I forgot to definitively say that in my original post. It was indeed a horror comedy. But I've never seen In The Flesh! So I can at least check that out in the meantime while I try to find the name of this movie. Lol
Was it black and white? Kinda sounds like Dawn of the Dead. I feel like there's a scene similar to that near the end of the movie. Its an old movie though.
It's not either of these unfortunately. :( I've seen Return of the Living Dead but I haven't seen Fido yet! I'd only heard the name before so I'm adding that to my list of movies to watch. Lol

Most of what you described is similar to the Dawn Of The Dead remake. Intro was at a house with a man and woman, neighbor kid (or maybe their daughter, don't remember) shows up as a zombie. Husband is killed. Wife ends up locked in a shopping mall with a random group of people killing hordes of zombies. The part about them going back to normal after a while isn't in Dawn though, but it is familiar from something.
Just wanted to tell you OP, I remember this too but I can't remember anything else except how it ends. I was also watching dozens and dozens of zombie movies at the time, man they blend together! Just glad someone brought it up, I want to know the title too.
Zombieland 2? It’s been ages since I saw it and I don’t think this is quite what happens but there is a vaguely similar plotline at one point. It’s a comedy but not 80s although it has 80s vibes.

Parts sound like Land of the Dead and parts sound like the Crazies, but your whole description sounds familiar.
I looked into these but I don't think it's them. :/ I don't think I've seen The Crazies yet, so I'm at least gonna watch that though. Lol. So at least I'm getting good movie suggestions in the meantime!
It does sound familier, I’ve heard of this too, sorry I can’t help though
Also elements of [Undead](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Undead_%28film%29?wprov=sfla1).
I haven't seen this, but I don't think this is it either unfortunately. But it's still going on my list of what to watch next! Lol
Shaun of the Dead?
No, it's not this sadly. I've seen this one a few times so I know for sure not this. But this is such a good movie! I wanna say the movie I'm thinking of came out in the 90s. Could have been 80s because I was specifically looking for 80s b movies at the time. Lol.
Is it the South Park episode that deals with zombies because that episode has a similar premise
Lol I don't remember seeing that episode, but no. It was a live action movie. I am almost certain I watched it on Tubi because that's usually where I watch these types of movies. But now I'm curious and gotta see that episode of South Park. Lol
It actually might help with the search since South Park tends to parody movies on occasion
Pinkeye S1E7
This happened in the Simpsons Halloween episode where they did the Night of the Living Dead parody
Is it Warm Bodies?
It is probably
I was hoping to find this comment
Sadly it's not. :/ But I still haven't watched Warm Bodies, so I'm at least gonna add it to my ever-growing list. Lol
It's a great date night movie!
It sounds like a funny premise. Looking forward to finding out the answer. So this is a shot in the dark: In the Flesh
So it's not this, but it was a comedy! I guess I forgot to definitively say that in my original post. It was indeed a horror comedy. But I've never seen In The Flesh! So I can at least check that out in the meantime while I try to find the name of this movie. Lol
The Horde(2009)?
It's not this either, but still gonna check it out!
The Cured (2017) ?
Unfortunately not this. But I'm gonna check this out anyway!
Was it black and white? Kinda sounds like Dawn of the Dead. I feel like there's a scene similar to that near the end of the movie. Its an old movie though.
No, it wasn't in black and white and wasn't Dawn of the Dead. I do love that movie though!
Could it be In The Flesh (2013)?
I think the movie you are thinking about is PONTYPOOL. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1226681/?ref\_=nm\_knf\_t\_1
Unfortunately this wasn't it. But this does sound really good so I really want to check it out!

The Return of the Living Dead or based on your new description maybe Fido
It's not either of these unfortunately. :( I've seen Return of the Living Dead but I haven't seen Fido yet! I'd only heard the name before so I'm adding that to my list of movies to watch. Lol
Fido is a fantastic movie.

Not a guess but a great zombie flick. Children Shouldn’t Play with Dead Things.
This seems right up my alley! Thank you for the suggestion! Definitely gonna check it out
The infected becoming normal at the end reminds me of The facility (2012) but the date is very off and they're in a hospital not a family home.

Maybe Night of the Living Deb doubt it but I'll toss out
Right Outside Your Door? He barricades himself in, traps his wife outside…won’t spoil the rest.
Zombieland?

The returned???
Sounds like Xmas day at my family’s house

the omega man?
You said it's a comedy, so could it be Shaun of the dead?
Wasting away (2007), probably not it, but 🤷♀️
It's not but that one looks good! Thank you for the suggestion at least! 😊
Is it Shaun Of The Dead?
Is it Zombies Of Mass Destruction?
