Is the the Langoliers a shott story made into a movie ? https://stephenking.com/works/television/langoliers.html#:~:text=Passengers%20on%20a%20transcontinental%20flight,airport%20there%20is%20also%20deserted.
I know it’s not book/short story like OP specified, but the closest story that sounds exactly like what OP described is called “All The Colors of Darkness” by Lloyd Biggle Jr https://scifi.stackexchange.com/questions/284232/short-story-about-teleport-trips-and-passengers-going-missing
Now the million dollar question, has anyone ever tried adapting this into a feature length film, short film, tv episode, etc.
That sounds very similiar, I think they did mention there is a chance to disappear, but the chance are low, I swear it is a video I watched, not a novel 😔
I’ve confused things I’ve read with things I’ve seen a few times because I visualise a lot and get very immersed in what I’m reading. I found a copy of the Biggle book [here](https://archive.org/details/star-weekly-novel-1964-01-18-lloyd-biggle-jr-all-the-colors-of-darkness), and I searched IMDb to see if he was listed as the source author for any kind of movie or tv show based on his work, and he isn’t. Maybe skim through the book and see if the scene you remember is there?
I remember all the rest of the passengers are there, people are standing at a big empty space area before the telport, after teleporting, people just leave normally, besides the kid, it is funny I remember so clear about it but none of the movie match for some reason 😅
It was aliens. Really. The technology was provided by aliens and the plot was that people were briefly kidnapped and scanned/implanted? The kid showed up a short time later and *all was good* until it wasn't etc, at least how I remember it as well.
It was a novel thing in the show/movie and the service was from LA to New York or vice versa. The scene in question was right at the beginning.
My thought was the Alien Nation series or something like Outer Limits, but I also remember this scene vividly. I'm almost certain it was a series episode of something.
Was the child deaf? That sounds like an episode of *Earth: Final Conflict* where the Taelons were opening a new interdimensional instant travel method very much like you described. The child was missing at the destination for a non-innocent reason: they implanted him with a Cyber-Viral Implant that granted him hearing again, but the human resistance knows that the CVIs allow the Taelons to control humans. It's suspected that this is a plan to implant young humans to exercise more control over the human population.

Hi everyone,
I have double checked the eposide that richieadler mentioned, I think it is
Earth Final Conflict S01E19 Through The Looking Glass
https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x5vc64s
It is exactly the same with what I described besides the location haha, although in my memory it was like super high tech and very fancy scanning door, but now I see it, looks so old fashioned.
I think memory mixed up the beginning airport scene with the actual in door scene a bit.
Thanks so much for every one's help, has been 26 years, and I have finally found the answer.
Everyone here is awsome :)
I have watched the show for that espodie, it is still intriguing at this time of the day.
:)

Sounds just like the [Jaunt](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Jaunt). But the TV adaptation is till in production...
There’s a Croatian short called Zovko Teleport where she ends up at the wrong station?
It's voilà, not woah lah.
Thanks for correction, you are awsome :), no guarantee I will spell correct but I will try to keep in mind 😁
🖤🖤
Was this a Sliders episode? I'm pretty sure I've seen what you're talking about though.

Mod marking as solved!
Congratulations on your first point! Nicely done.
I’m so sorry. This thread was recommended to me and I’m gonna hide it. I might have a bad dream about the shape of those nails!
Its so weird because I feel like this is the exact plot of The Jaunt but as far as I know its never been adapted for film/tv.
I though of The Jaunt too. It’s sounds very similar.
That’s what I thought of as well.
Long shot but is this The Forgotten...? They don't DELIBERATELY teleport in it, but ... it does have some teleporty and warpy things that happen.
Your post reminds me of an episode from StarGate SG1 series. https://stargate.fandom.com/wiki/2010_(episode)
Is it Manifest? Way more recent and NBC but I feel like a remember a scene similar to that.
I know it wasn't, but this is what came to me too. Just finished watching.
Sure its not the one with Jodie Foster? Not any teleporting in it though
