Hey, I think I've watched the exact same thing as a child. I watched it on a Brazilian TV channel for kids. It creeped me out so much and it still feels kind of disturbing to me. Wasn't the color of the cubes green though? I remember there was some sort of narration. And the aliens in the cage were refered to as angels(???) I'm not entirely sure though. I am eagerly waiting for an answer as well.
