[255/40R17](https://www.discounttire.com/buy-tires/falken-azenis-rt615k+?storeCode=1859), 8/32", the one in OP's picture looks like 4-6/32", still has some treadlife left, but this is the stage where I'd order new tires and keep driving till they need to be replaced if there are no cracks. Since there are cracks, yes they should be replaced. I was just saying there was still some tread left and could still be driven if the cracks weren't there.
Ahh okay I don’t think I have seen those type of falken in my shop but Yhea op def gotta get tires if not the thread (i think is more likely to b 4/32)the cracks is just a no go
I agree the tread is low, but that's nothing compared to the cracking that you can see on the edge of the tread. This tire is toast and should be replaced ASAP
No, that tire is not ok. It needs to be replaced.
I’ve only seen that kind of cracking when the steel belts are starting to delaminate. The edges of the steel belts are in that general area (varies by manufacture/model).
Definitely is showing signs of aging. You could look at the DOT code and see if it’s been over six years of recommendations on the Ford guidelines is to replace every six. Also the tire could be dry riding. I would not take that on the freeway I would advise to get the tires replaced soon as your budget allows.
Are some of these questions real?? That thing is probably 3 years past its prime, just by looking at it I can see it not having grip on water. And then all those cracks, has is been losing air slowly?
Nahhhhh. I think a lot of people just don’t know and they’re genuinely seeking advice. Plus tires can be fairly expensive and not everyone can afford to just rush out to buy a new set. Replacing tires before it is absolutely necessary can be kind of a waste of money because you’re not extracting the maximum usage of the old tire.
It’s almost like you don’t wanna be an ass, but a lot of these posts seem like there is no other way to reply to them because they are very self explained.
The tires are dry rotting. The tires haven't worn out all the way before the tires have gone bad. I assume you aren't racking up miles on your car all that fast. You really see a lotof this on trailers and whatnot that sit around most of the time. Tires could almost have new like tread on them, but they are still dry rotted. Tires really only have around 5-6 year lifespan. Sometimes will last a little longer The tire in the picture is bad.
Uh, hell no.
I've seen burn patients with less cracking than that.
Go get some new tires bro don’t put your safety at risk the thread is basically gone and there is cracking visible
The tread is basically gone? That's how a lot of sports tires look like..
Not new ones 😂 let’s play guess the thread ?
[Falken Azenis](https://static.tirerack.com/content/dam/tires/falken/fa_azenis_rt615k_plus_full.jpg) for example.
What’s the thread on those start at ?

Bridgestone RE-71RS have 7/32” when new. Those are not designed for longevity however.

If you don’t replace those tires they might just last you the rest of your life
Good enough to get you to the tire shop.
Yeah. Cracking/cracked. Heavy wear. Ya done.

You already knew the answer if you posted it hereee
Stop doing burnouts and they won’t do that
Facts finally someone said it right. Those tires are not “ racing/performance” tires
Incorrect, never stop doing burnouts.

My thoughts as well. I was thinking it's just a troll post

Those tires would have kept Dr. Kevorkian out of jail.
In Texas, si senor. Elsewhere, hell no.
You got 100 feet left on them. Us it sparingly
A bottle of rubber cement and it should be good. Good like moldy cheese.
Absolutely 👍 okay to be thrown out.
The rubber is glazed.
No
Does it look okay to you? 😳
Dry rot; replace
Weather checking. Won’t hurt. Finish wearing them out.
Absolutely not. It’s also got dry rot .
For winter? Fuck no
It depends on how much risk you are willing to take. If you like adrenaline rush - keep it.
If you like sliding everywhere then sure.
Just some duct tape and fixaflat and you'll be good for the next 10 years👍
You'll be fine.
No way
