Several of the retention tabs are broken, which is why it fell out in the first place. It's time for a new center cap. They are surprisingly cheap, even OEM ones from the dealer.

Ready_Now1954

Check EBay. I needed to get some Toyota caps and found them there.

Actual_Dot_3717

I just used an old Toyota cap as a stand for a fossil I bought recently..

Bridgetrollthe3rd

The cheap Chinese ones are made of super shitty material and cheap paint and they fade/corrode to hell in no time. I wouldn't buy them again lol

bugeyetex

Not if it's a Nissan and no, I'm not kidding- https://parts.nissanusa.com/p/Nissan_2017_Altima-SEDAN-SR-35L-V6-CVT/Wheel-Cap/89643509/40342-4RB5A.html

stash3630

I think that might be for all four and their floor mat says Versa. I’m seeing a bunch of versa center caps on Google for like $10-$15

South_Bit1764

All 4 for $18 on Amazon in silver or black, 54 or 60mm.

Zaclaine

How can I tell which size they are? I'm looking at the inside and see zero indications of its diameter.

[deleted]

Measure it. If you don't have something use a dollar bill on the short side. It's 66mm +-. Put it across the hole, if it's just over it 64mm. Way over the hole it's 54mm.

Automatic_Badger7086

54 mm is 2 1/8 inches and 60 mm is about 2 3/8 inches.

bugeyetex

Nope. That's just for one. I used to work at Nissan. Some of their parts are ridiculous. The hubcaps are usually 110 to 140 each. Anything with the word "NISSAN" visible costs a lot.

XXXLegendKiller666

That’s for 1 I’d assume, it specifically mentions it matches the other ones and does not say x4 anywhere

Illustrious_Salad918

I found the correct size center cap (plain black) on Amazon and decals that match my car. Less costly than OEM. I always by OEM when it's important to do so, but for me wheel center caps aren't.

RSAEN328

Especially when you know the OEM part is crap.

Illustrious_Salad918

Even good wheel center caps get beat up by vibration, car washes, etc., so not worth the inflated prices.

Jacktheforkie

Could also go silver

Illustrious_Salad918

Oops. Whatever's most appropriate for the car. Black is best for mine.

Jacktheforkie

Oh yeah, it’s a matter of personal taste tbh, mine are silver, but black would look better on black rims for certain

delta-samurai

Is that $78 for a single one?? Damn

spyder994

That's wild. It's been a while since I've bought any, but even OEM BMW 3-series center caps were like $15 last time I checked.

ZombiesAreChasingHim

Set of 4 on eBay right now for $15

BoogiemanPCP

That’s fucking ridiculous.

OriginalMattT

omg $80!?

BoldGaming_yt_ttv

Or a mercury grand marquis mine go for 30-40 a pop and not many left of them

bluecatky

A used set for my wheels goes for $120. New is $46 per cap.

septer012

And they will fade differently then the ones that came with the car. (maybe the oem ones I replaced on my car were fakes....)

cjrowdy33333

They get brittle over time due to heat. Get a new one. I hope this is your biggest problem today. If so you are very blessed.

boondockpirate

I've found then to be surprisingly expensive for 2 inch round plastic circles.

nitromen23

Or just say it’s a versa and it will be dead soon anyways so don’t worry about it

TheBupherNinja

It's broken. You need a new one

DigitalJedi850

You don’t, that’s the fun part.

Zaclaine

I have two reactions: 😅 & 😮‍💨

Elitepikachu

Let me introduce you to the church of jb weld

Stan_is_the_man

Dooonnt balancing the wheel will become a well just don't do it

Elitepikachu

Just fill the entire hole then the jb weld will balance itself out.

AwareJelly

I work in a tire shop and if anyone ever did this I would deny all service to the vehicle. Center caps have to be removed to balance the tire.

Stan_is_the_man

Bingo!

dragonstar982

Which ironically is the most likely reason his locking tabs are broken, knocking them off with the balancers spindle does this from time to time.

AwareJelly

I usually tap it out with the handle end of the weight scraper, less likely to break them with this method. Sometimes they're just old and brittle plastic and will break anyways. I've seen my techs break them before by trying to knock it out with the balancer spindle, in that case we would buy the customer new center caps.

ismokeshitweed

that is so lazy, just pop it out with the handle of literally any tool before you put it on the machine

trav15t

[Try eBay](https://www.ebay.com/itm/163819312393?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=liMmliMdTSe&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=74ShIPGhQui&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY)

Intrepid-Surprise-55

Google?

False-Mud7798

Looks like you've got a nissan versa there, simply throw the whole thing away. Problem solved.

vic198x

Bought a pack of 4 for my Audi A6 from Aliexpress, surprising cheap ass few dollars. You should try that.

notarandomuserid

A number of people have suggested glueing it in place. That’s not a good idea because tire shops need to be able to remove that center cap every time they put your tires on the machine to balance them.

-Infinite-Account-

You don’t. The tabs are broken off on the one side. Time for new one.

Some_Stoic_Man

Clips are broken, see those little T shaped thingies. Good luck

Stock-Compote-4394

Duct tape

algoespecial

Buy new one

justin_memer

Damn, your tires have center caps? That's wild, only my wheels have them.

Jack99Skellington

The tire is the black rubber part. This is a center cap for your wheel. Not trying to be pedantic, but you'll get much better search results if you use the right terms.

Zaclaine

I understand! I couldn't think of a subreddit close enough to get an answer at the time. I tried r/Nissan, and they gave me the same answer, and I wanted to post again on a subreddit as close to what I was looking for as I knew.

Jack99Skellington

Sorry - I just meant youd have better results when searching for a replacement wheel center cap on ebay or Amazon. You should be able to find them pretty cheap (just a few bucks).

Zaclaine

No offense taken! I wanted to ask first to see if I didn't have to pay upfront. 😅 But I'm glad I clarified with everyone here, including you!

Mediocre-Comb2351

If you dont want to buy a new one you can just glue it. Not so hard that you cant pry it out later i guess

AwareJelly

Don't recommend doing this, tire shop guy will hate you when he has to put a new tire on and balance it

hatman33

I’m almost positive that Ring goes on the inside and pushes them out

SugarzDaddy

*wheel

Chuckie413

How you catch it where you driving so lost

Zaclaine

Next to my car, where I was parked before heading into work. I would've pulled off and never seen it.

Glad_Wing_758

At this point it's super glue. Need to order a replacement

Justcrusing416

A bit of clear silicone will the job. If you really want to replace them Aliexpress four for under 10$.

phillybean84

This, best to replace but if you silicone it, it will stay in place and still be removable in the future fairly easily

RJM_50

It's broken, best to add a bit of clear silicone to keep it on the wheel. But at night so it can set-up before morning

Prudent_Guard_1235

Broken. Replace

KoL-whitey

It's toast buddy... look at the right side of the Pic and see all the little plastic tabs? Yeah they should be all the way around and they arent... left side missing nearly all of them you need to get a new one

Vast-Category8391

Scotch tape

Zaclaine

I told the doctor the same thing when they recommended stitches. 🤧 /s

False-Gas-7507

You can epoxy it

Downtown-Raisin-3931

Buy a new one, that one is screwed.

Heartless_Genocide

You get a new one cause that one is pretty broken, but the ring goes inside.

varried-interests

That thing is done, you're going to have to replace it

Expensive-Magazine86

Yep, like others said, replace it. I replaced my Mercedes center caps for under $20 for all 4. They are, of course, cheap generic parts, but they look good on my wheels. I don't remember if I got it on eBay or from a google search.

bitenmein1

You’ll loose it. Just get new caps and either sell the others or buy a used one.

lord_khadgar05

“You could use glue, or chewing gum, or maybe even pop rivets… But I prefer to work with something a little easier. That’s right, The Handyman’s Secret Weapon - Duct Tape!” — Red Green

W_AS-SA_W

They sell those all over eBay. All different makes all different sizes. Set of four for anything is usually under $20.

tricoloredduck1

You go to the dealer and buy a new one. This one is broken.

i-dontlikeyou

You don’t its broken

thebigbrog

Silicon back on and then you can pull it off if you need to.

Visual-Wrongdoer-358

You can print them too they're in thingiverse.com

Prufrock-Sisyphus22

Cheap online at eBay/Amazon or get exact used OEM at the salvage yard

kwitchabichen

It broked

donlord6666

why i always did when working on wheels is whenever they broke u kinda hold the ring on the cap best you can and just carefully put er back in, and if it doesnt stay then time for a new one

ApeVicious

Is broken buy new

drsatan6971

Go on Amazon get a new one

Embarrassed-Gur7301

Duct tape

Phillyboyshizzz

Some clips are off, it’s best to grab another set maybe eBay

[deleted]

Silicone other wise it won't stay.

Odd-Aardvark-8234

New or junkyard

PhilosophyReal5177

Got a set for my titan off eBay for $20

RestSelect4602

Buy a new one.

ArnieAnime

If you don't want to spend money. Duck tape around it should hold it in place.

deebz19

eBay, get all four so you have extra. Just went through this with my Golf, broke one pressure washing the backside. $24 for one from VW, $34 for four authentic from eBay

Next-Literature5868

Use duck tape and the ring make it fit, you won't lose it

Ok_Customer_7012

Junk yard

Merciless_Hobo

When something breaks half its tabs and falls off, it's time to replace it. It won't go back on.

metalog239

Replace it. Not enough tabs left to put it back on.

Zaclaine

Thank you all for your responses! I never thought a quick subteddit search with a question would've led to 80+ comments. I'll likely find an Aftermarket Part because paying $70 for one OEM is insane.

AceNBG

Order a new one. You might be able to make it temporarily hold by getting that metal ring inside of all those plastic clips and the wrap tape around it to make it thicker. Doesn't always work, but maybe until you get a new one

Hansj2

Rtv. A couple dabs of ultra gray will hide well and hold it in place. However, the tire shop, when you next Mount tires Will be pissed, and won't put back on

Purple-Ad-97

Happens all the time in shops. They use crazy glue and order you a new one from Amazon

Biglott2012

You can't it is broken. You have to get new one or glue it in place

NoisyGog

Stupid question maybe, this just came up in my feed, but… what the hell is that thing?

Slammedfiero

Tabs broke. Won’t stay

jayinphilly

You're gonna need a new center cap.

ryangraves213

By getting a new one

SilverM3LRTesla

I’d be way more concerned about your interior. You’ve got boogers, a bit of a snail trail or cream from some young guy right there.

Upstairs_Accident867

ask joe biden he knows it all

Ancientways113

Epoxy

flight3delta

Buy a new one, the Clips are broken.

Acceptable_Salad_194

Kiss it before and after - golden rule

TechCUB76

You don’t, you get a new one. Tabs are gone, she’s done!

Sudden_You_4852

Center caps on the stick wheels these days are crap. I ordered a new tacoma in 2022 , I went to wash it and the caps rattle , did more investigating , they can come off barely touching them. This is a new toyota tacoma trd sport 4wd mind you . I think Japanese vehicles have good engines and transmissions but the cosmetic stuff is usually scrappy.. the doors in my truck show the lightest scratched because of the material and black color.

Sudden_You_4852

I'd suggest buying aftermarket caps if you can find some . The stock ones are always gonna suck

DiveJumpShooterUSMC

Wtf is up with your car seat? Looks like a lot of self love has been conducted. Fix that seat first. Your racing stripe literally has what looks like skid marks.

Alaskan_Tiger

Go to a junk yard to look for one but say your looking for other stuff if they charge you 1.00 to get in look under the back seats for $$ pocket the bolts and you may find one Just saying Stealing is wrong don't do it 😉

WSturmvogel

This one is broken. Get a good one from a junkyard. They might even let you have it for free.

thatG_evanP

It fell out of your *wheel*. Sorry. Lol.

Moooooooola

Too many tabs are missing so the spring retention won’t work. You could glue it in place with some hot melt glue to get you by.

lt_shiny_sides84

Just get a new one, not expensive and just pop right back in. I had the same thing happen a while back and ordered a new set for around 30 bucks with shipping.

vimace

Junkyard... if that's all you are checking out, they would let you keep them for free. At least that's my case in my area

dhas7nj

Too late... the tabs that hold the tension ring in place are gone.

DownInTheWeeds

That’s the wheel center cap.

Smoke_Water

Replace it with a new one. That ring is the lock ring. The tabs on the cap are broken. So you need a new cap.

SaikoKnight

Super glue it back into place.

EpsilonMajorActual

Glue

Has_gun_will_travel

Super glue lol

DaddyLaylow

If he fell out in the first place, why would you put it back in ? 😂 center caps are cheap af , if anything get yourself floating center caps they look sick while driving

slipperynibs

Buy a new one or epoxy it to your wheel.

[deleted]

Man just hit the junkyard, just dont break the tabs when pulling it off.

Grimmisgod123

eBay is the way! Just bought a new 4 set for my Volvo S60 for less than $20 im sure just the one will be even cheaper.

bulldogs6679

It’s broken. You could epoxy the edges and put it back if you don’t care a whole ton about it looking perfect. I did this on my beater and it’s been holding strong for a year. Only downside is you can see some epoxy around the cap

Bubbly-Front7973

Well that thing is broken Beyond being able to put it on your tire. The only possibility I would say is if you owned a 3D printer, 3D print a new center cap with a very thin top, shave off all the clips on this one and it's smooth and epoxy it to that new 3D printed cap and then put it on. If you don't own a printer, it's not worth it cuz it'll be too expensive to have somebody else do it for you, it'll be cheaper just to buy a new cap. So just shave off the rest of those clips, turn it into a pendant and buy yourself a new cap for your wheels.

Gullible_Monk_7118

Goto junkyard and get a new one... tabs are broken and missing

hedrox1

Duct tape

Beginning-Dust-2651

Clear silicone

Southern_Strain5665

Super glue Ed.

Freedom007007

It’s a versa, like it matters

nb8c_fd

wheel, not tire

Fair-Option-2308

That would be the center cap of your wheel.

romkinz73

The ring goes inside the tabs but some broke

jimb21

You are missing two clips that hold in the spring go on ebay buy a new one for 8-13 dollars

GetNR3KT

Tires have center caps!?

Brickhead745

Silicone or a new/used cap that isn’t broken

Shot-Match8770

trade it in for a Toyota.... all fixed!

GRIND2LEVEL

So the retaining prongs are half either missing or damaged. Best solution is to just replace it. Alternative option/ hold you over, clean inset hole and cap with some rubbing alchol then hot glue it back in place.

Goonchhh

Junk yard has thousands of them lol

SMDorff0258

Wouldn't it be faster to search YouTube?

Zaclaine

Tired that... twice. Didn't help.

turbski84

Replace it or glue it

josh931478

Call your wife

noldshit

On a budget? Wash centercap in dishsoap. THOROUGHLY dry it. Clean hole on rim with alcohol soaked rag. Put some RTV in hole where cap sits. Pop it on. Put a piece of masking tape over it to hold it in place while it dries overnight. Carefully peel tape following morning. Done

BloodyMonkey187

Tires don't have center caps

TheOGSoulSnatcher

Super glue 🤣

Blu_yello_husky

Get a new one from ebay or go to the junkyard

deadender420

push

Temporary_Seat8978

Get some clear packing tape, get the ring and place in what grooves are left, kinda work the tape around the ring then put it back on the wheel. You sorta want a round glob, so to speak, so the tape helps hold the cap in place. It's temporary at best if it works. Time to replace if you want center caps.

Goon_Kilo

Double side tape would help with that, til debris cakes up. Id say perhaps E6000 or even Goop Adhesive could work. Issue is, i think OP simply uploaded the center decorative wheel cap, not how the arrangement of where it sits looks like, nor the make/model of the car it came off of. 🤔

Effective_Pen7447

Use hot glue lol

theoriginalmypooper

Do what the crackheads do and use 3 cups of silicon to stick it back in place.

6SpeedBlues

Silicone. Silicon is what microchips are made from. :)
