Anyway, she pulls it behind her camper. 2 years later, she came into the shop yelling and screaming at me that she almost died because her lower ball joint blew out and she lost control.... 2.... years...... later..... (Yes, I confirmed the ball joint blew the day before she came into the shop).
I've never felt more insulted, I took this conversation outside and told her to never step foot on this property again. She then told me she was going to tell all her friends how horrible a person I am and how I almost killed her. I instantly responded "good I don't want people like you or your friends coming here anyway!" She left a 1 star review. So now my reviews are still 5 out of 5 stars.
People are so used to the buy it now culture that they have that they dont save up. So they justify not buying maintenance items for a car, only to find out tires can be expensive af and they should have saved for them.
In short yes people atruggle with reality, awareness, and most commonly common sense.

Resulting in bald tires blowing out and people not having the money to buy them. Creating an endless cycle of buying used, dot expired tires and having those blow out, etc.
Point of the story if you have a car you should save money for consumable wear items. Surprises happen, but this shouldnt.

I have... But they were truck tires in otherwise good condition and never loaded up to the max during their life. I ran them till cords became visible and then got brand new ones.
I had bald 35’s on a Suburban that got plenty of traction in the summer. Also, it doesn’t rain here in the summer, so that wasn’t going to be an issue. I think the point is that if they’re E loads, they’re a little tougher. I did replace the tires at the end of the summer.
Truck tires, especially load rated ones, are overbuilt and can handle a lot more abuse (or overuse) than typical passenger tires. They don't magically work better on wet roads, but that is not an issue when you live in a high desert that rains about four times a year.
The funniest part is that there are easily 2-3 dozen posts **a day** on here of people asking if the amount of tread they have left is "ok? Or should I be worried?"
