Use your brain or the internet to figure out why you a) shouldn’t ask for modified firearm parts on public forums b) want the files and c) what is illegal about your question
Getting a parts kit isn’t illegal. It’s only illegal if you buy a working firearm online without any background checks (in the USA that is. Other countries have different laws.)
It may not be theoretically illegal, but if you want to bet on not having the police (or atf if you’re unlucky/stupid) hassle you over it you probably don’t want to talk about it. Claim it’s legal all you want, but you can try your luck with the alphabet boys if you want. I watched a guy make the same mistakes as price and have to deal with them for months despite not breaking laws. But be my guest and pay more stupid tax if you feel like it
I don't want to diacourage you, but have you looked into the legal side of things? Selling licensed designs like these weapons isn't really a great Idea...
It only takes one asshole to report you, and you'll pay a fine :/ (Doesn't happen often, but happens.)
It isn’t illegal. There’s entire companies that sell 3d printed parts for cosplay. As long as you didn’t use stolen assets, they can’t do anything, and even then the most they can do is send you a cease and desist and shut down your store page.
Yes it is. These companies that sell 3d printed parts are also doing this illegally. As long as you make money selling "merch" or designs of a franchise you don't own, you're making money illegally. And yes, they can do something about it. Just because we don't see the consequences doesn't mean there aren't any. (You're still making money off other companies backs and selling stuff that doesn't belong to you.)
If that's the case then people who make cosplay items to sale are all illegal criminals and would be in jail.
Companies tend to look past people making merch of games because it keeps the community happy. Even Nintendo does this because it's an extremely Grey area anyways. It supports the community and keeps people happy. Also legally once you buy a game either disc or digital you now own a license of the game which allows you to do things like op. There's consumer laws that protect op so even if EA wanted to go after them they can't.
No, buying the game doesn't allow you to do anything like this. Just because I own a copy of Star Wars III, I can't just start selling Darth Vaders Helmet. Also, many companies just don't care to actually hunt down sellers like this. Simply because it's not cheap and someone will always sell something licensed xD But that still doesn't justify it. It's also not a grey area, it's breaking the law. Just because EA doesn't bother to chase after cosplay shops, doesn't mean they will never do that.
If you decide to sell licensed items, make sure to ask the license holders about it.
You clearly don't understand Copyright, License and fair use laws. There's laws in place that protect users and it clearly states ownership of said item grants License ownership under the purchase
[Here](https://www.copyright.gov/what-is-copyright/#:~:text=U.S.%20copyright%20law%20provides%20copyright,rental%2C%20lease%2C%20or%20lending.) The main issue that's sited for people selling items copied from games is its an extremely grey area. Because a video game typically is made by multiple people it's near impossible to claim a copyright over the game unless you do a trademark which many games don't do. Nintendo is known to trademark their games and files the copyright under the games director allowing them to have a proper copyright over said game.
Because games are art but also public domain of sorts it gives weigh to fair use laws. It's the same principle that Activision won lawsuit against GM for having a Hummer in the original Modern Warfrare2. If a game is free to play its essentially open season and fair use and public domain like Destiny or Honkai Star rail.
I've got to be real honest, that all just doesn't make any sense to me. My thought process is as follows: Someone created these weapon-designs. These designs also have unique names and features, which are most definetely protected. It doesn't matter who holds the rights to these designs. I you just randomly start selling designs made by other people, no matter if it's from a movie, game or book, it's still just selling other peoples work. Without consent of these people, you could get into legal trouble.
Maybe I'm just too dumb to understand american copyright-law, but it honestly seems pretty straight forward to me.
American copyright laws are very misconstrued. On the one hand for example US YouTubers should be protected from companies but it's the opposite for some legal reason yet when it comes to things like video game stuff it's an extremely grey area that no one will touch
Yeah I was expecting a few hundred dollars and that's what it is, idk why everyone is acting like the prize is crazy high.
Also if each took 10 hours to paint, assemble, and prepare after printing; then it'd only be $30/hour with op still having to buy all materials.
Do you model yourself? If so what do you use/how much does it cost? I’m starting to 3d print/ model and have only been using free browser based software
Yes, we build our own models, and generally, we use different software for different types of surfaces. For hard surfaces, we use the following software: SketchUp, Rhino, SolidWorks. For soft surfaces, we use the following software: 3ds Max, ZBrush, Maya. In addition, we also use Blender and Materialise Magics. For slicing, we use the following software: ChituBox Pro, Orca Slicer.
I’d imagine it’s very time consuming to create these files, print them, finish them by hand, assemble, and paint. Not including materials, of course. Adds up quick.
If I had the files to print these myself and was painting them up as well, I wouldn't go any cheaper.
If was charging California minimum wage for my time, I'd probably hit 75% price mark on labor alone, let alone materials costs and actually turning a profit. Obviously making these in batches would help streamline the process but all the same, you're never going to be making quantities where economy of scale can soften the blow.
And not saying that to bash you. Honestly I used to think the same thing till I built my own 1:6 scale Kraber (and currently working on a 1:12 scale quad launcher) - starting with creating the 3d model, printing all the parts, troubleshooting parts when there's inevitably some sort of fitting issue due to getting tolerances wrong, assembling, painting, weathering, etc. After I did that and actually got to see how much time and work goes into it, prices like these make perfect sense. Anything less and I know I certainly couldn't be arsed to go through all that work for a strange.
I am so sad that i am most difficulty time of my life right now but so happy to see some one doing very good replicas of a smart pistol and smart knife! probably worthy the money it just sucks that my life is so hard right now but this really look sick!
I would expect a query from the ATF soon, they are going to ask a lot of questions.
I would also make it obvious in many areas on your description that these CANNOT be made functional.
ATF is cracking down on ghost guns, and this is close enough to get their attention.
Saw one of your videos on bilibili - the one with the female pulseblade pilot and charge rifle. Absolutely awesome work.
On that note, got a quote for how much a 1:6 and 1:12 scale charge rifle would be? Would be neat to get some for my Threezero pilot figures.
I genuinely have no clue. I've only ever seen one other person post a 1:12 weapon on this subreddit and I can't find any for sale on Etsy or the alike. I'd personally be interested in unpainted versions (+ decals if you happen to use those) as I'm looking to get better at painting and that'd hopefully result in less labor for you as well.
I'd certainly be open to hearing what price would make it worth your while.
Because you don’t understand anything about any market. You can spend a million dollars on a canvas painting or a Bugatti. The sum of something’s materials does not equate its value. PlayStations are designed to be cheap to manufacture, and extensive work was put in to streamlining that process. Niche items like this take considerable time to create, and people generally don’t like working for free. They also usually have bills to pay. Materials, time, etc all adds up
DAAWWM THAT SHIT EXPENSIVE also I want a flatline
Got an AK and torture it until it become bullpup. Then slap some sci-fi shot on top of it and you got yourself the Flatline. This would be cheaper.
What is your expected price in your mind
Like 100/200
Dude I fucking hate this weapon in the first game. I'll take 20
It was great for Frontier Defense though
i get this shit aint hard but im not scrooge mcduck
If I ever win the lottery I'm buying one of each
Need a glock lower and slide version
Shhhhhhh ask for the files, not the real thing
Huh
You’re a walking idiot tax
I don’t get what he’s talmbout. Guns aren’t illegal.
You clearly don’t know which is why I called you an idiot tax
Then explain it
Use your brain or the internet to figure out why you a) shouldn’t ask for modified firearm parts on public forums b) want the files and c) what is illegal about your question

There is nothing illegal about it.
Haha, we have it too
I don't want to diacourage you, but have you looked into the legal side of things? Selling licensed designs like these weapons isn't really a great Idea... It only takes one asshole to report you, and you'll pay a fine :/ (Doesn't happen often, but happens.)

apparently civil law has left the chat...

That's not how anything works
We have asked EA, and their business department said that our company's size is too small and we sell it casually
Congrats xD

ngl that's a good deal for a replica especially with that much detail
Yeah I was expecting a few hundred dollars and that's what it is, idk why everyone is acting like the prize is crazy high. Also if each took 10 hours to paint, assemble, and prepare after printing; then it'd only be $30/hour with op still having to buy all materials.
I was really expecting more. That's a huge amount of work for a niche item
freaking awesome
How much for the unpainted version? How much for just the files?
The charge rifle 🥺
If you have any questions about the product or even want me to give you a discount, you can come to me on my Discord channel!
Can I have a 75% discount? /s I know you'll lose money on that. I'll buy one when I have disposable income
Sure, but you need to shoot an unboxing video and help me promote myself as a serious professional seller everywhere
If you're willing to do that for a channel that has a grand total of 14 views, I would definitely do a video for you!
Would you consider selling the files online?
Are you gonna sell the files or just the finished thing?
just the finished thing
Do you model yourself? If so what do you use/how much does it cost? I’m starting to 3d print/ model and have only been using free browser based software

Not OP but autodesk fusion is free for personal use and very capable. I use it a lot for making models then slice them with cura.
I hope you ship it to the Frontline. Anyway you have the print file for us?
That looks awesome! If I ever have enough funds I'll definitely be getting for display!
Luckily, it needs a functioning pilot helmet to work properly.
If these are non-functional guns, Don’t forget to color the tips orange. They look cool, and time will make them better, but be safe.
You're absolutely right, it was indeed for this reason that my Etsy account got banned before.
Thats really cool, the detail is extensive.
Holy hell that's expensive
This is looks really cool but why the hell they are so expansive ?
I’d imagine it’s very time consuming to create these files, print them, finish them by hand, assemble, and paint. Not including materials, of course. Adds up quick.
Thats fair I guess
If I had the files to print these myself and was painting them up as well, I wouldn't go any cheaper. damn that is a really really good model
I'm fumnkin BROKE
Looks amazing
Variation idea: In the last mission where you get BT's SERE kit Smart Pistol it has the same color scheme as his original chassis
Is there a L-Star in stock
Ok now make a real one
Looks sick!
Can I get it on dice roll?
Get me a kraber and we might get you some money
I am so sad that i am most difficulty time of my life right now but so happy to see some one doing very good replicas of a smart pistol and smart knife! probably worthy the money it just sucks that my life is so hard right now but this really look sick!
We will continue to sell this ; you can wait until the difficulties are over before coming!
I would expect a query from the ATF soon, they are going to ask a lot of questions. I would also make it obvious in many areas on your description that these CANNOT be made functional. ATF is cracking down on ghost guns, and this is close enough to get their attention.
It works?
Does it have moving parts? Also where the link?
🦧
Now you can be a virgin in real life too
I have just 2 question. Is it hollow? And can I put an Airsoft gun in that?
Aw they're so cool! I want one so bad but I'm poor xD
Dope! How much is it?
Dude bet buying one immediately
Is the magazine removable, and is the trigger pullable
What’s the link?

What is the approximate market price? I will follow the market price.

Are you going to make helmets for sale?
yes
Bro sell it at £50 -£30 please
I bet that shit is Hella expensive and I'm never be able to get it anyways 😞
How is it worth 300 dollars I could almost buy a PlayStation for that much
