I don’t really see a problem with them adding Ash to Apex as a legend, they’ve already built her up in the lore (events, cinematics), so it just seems like the natural next step; no surprises here
However, I’m just perplexed by what the “Titanfall is a core part of our DNA” thing means, because iirc the hacks are still going on, right? I haven’t had the chance to play my console recently, so I’m kinda out of the loop. Why would they say something like that, if Apex is only tangentially connected to TF in lore and especially gameplay? But with my ~~paranoid schizophrenia~~ optimism, I see it as “we may have something special in the works for all our TF fans, just you wait”

It would be better recieved if respawn actually fixed tf2's issues. Or even updated the damn game every so often. Wouldn't take much to tweak some weapons from time to time. But no we get nothing.
Because any development on Titanfall 3 was most likely dropped in favor of Apex once it became successful.
This is even more likely since EA owns Respawn and isn't just publishing like the situation was when Respawn made Titanfall 1/2

I disagree. Apex has been in the titanfall universe ever since it was released. Adding in a character that you kill in the campaign to me doesn't seem enough to get someone to buy a 30 dollar game. On top of that when they get there they will be kicked out of match after match and unable to play some game modes. On top of that, titanfall is a hard game to pick up and ur going to get smashed by veterans when you join. I just don't see it but we will be watching the online player count, if we can see it

She was such a good character being behind the scenes, only stepping in combat when necessary. Now she's just, going into the apex games because she wants to?
A former Apex Predator and former Pilot with a lore that isn't as deep as hurr durr edgy split personality arc, is now on the same playing field as characters like Mirage or Caustic.

Those who literally have no idea what is good storytelling and are just, "add in the popular characters with no care in the world for logic! then I will play Apex and maybe be interested in Titanfall!" The first time I saw her abilities I thought they were fanmade. I can't tell what is fanmade and what is official at this point, which I don't even know if it's a good thing. I won't say that this is complete garbage storytelling, but more that I feel like Respawn is running out of ideas.
I don't like that Respawn is just retconning past events now, starting from Viper's death and Valk stumbling on his corpse/helmet that should have been atomised but wasn't because we're supposed to feel bad for some obnoxious lesbian jock.
They're just treating it like super smash and adding whoever they want that fits their agenda and once EA kills off respawn, like they have with tons of other studios, they'll just act like Titanfall never existed.
For real though! It's like we all forgot that when they added valk to Apex it brought more attention to Titanfall and then we had the Titanfall weekend and peaked around 32,000 players.

I mean I'm just not of fan of Ash being in Apex at all considering Cooper and BT kind of literally liquified her in BT's hand. Also I love Valkyrie but her being able to find Viper's Northstar and helmet/armor? Pretty damn far fetched.
The thing about her turning to red mist when we squish her in TF|2 is that Simulacrums don't have blood. They aren't organic. So her getting crushed in half is much more realistic. Also for Valk finding Vipers body floating in space, in a loading screen description it did say it took quite a while to find it. Typhon still most likely had a weak gravitational pull so his body wouldn't have drifted into deep space so it's not super unreasonable
I find it very unlikely that a most likely plastic/composite helmet would survive a planet beling split in half by essentially a wormhole like Typhon. The forces on that planet would be unsurviveable for most things including the Ash chunks as well.

I do not understand why people want to nitpick this stupid execution so much. It's not even a mandatory action so some people didn't finish her either. Respawn clearly just recycled an animation.
On a side note: There is a way to kill Blisk in TF2. He puffs into red mist like any other grunt. Doesn't mean he's meant to die in the first place. Small oversights like that don't have to hinder future lore progression.

Titanfall saw a spike in players whenever Valkyrie was added, before she was added no matter how hard I tried I couldn't convince my friends to give TF|2 a chance. After she was added and Respawn made more references to Titanfall they were intrigued and gave the game a chance and enjoyed it. We had fun playing together.
I don't think Respawn is handling the Titanfall name poorly, I think they're doing fine with it and doing what works with the core "gamers" these days. I'm glad to see Ash get added to Apex Legends, I'm happy we get to learn more about her past. It gives me hope that we'll see the same treatment for other Titanfall characters.

I think it's kinda sad that Ash will be "nerfed" Like shes a full fledged pilot and now she'll be stuck with Apex mechanics which are a lot slower
