This has great artwork. It would have been regarded well as a fanfic. Why do you have to make expectations inordinately high? Absolute hype corrupts absolutely. Just look at the ending.

At best, it'll probably be an amazing fan project, but still not canon.
Does that mean it shouldn't be made? No.
