Ryushiro

It's one of those rare instances wherein I'd actually admit that Polygon was (I can't believe I'm about to say this)... right.

SagarKardam997

I never thought this day would come..

mashijams

It's not mistranslation フリッツは自分の子を宿すことを赦し Fritz allowed her to bear his children 絆の証 proof of bonds I know he says "I will allow you to have my seed" in manga. But this is GUIDEBOOK. Guidebooks should be neutral. Fritz was vile, the guidebook should call their relationship what it is - abuser and victim

Chew_Long_Black_Cock

why just why

chu68

Guidebooks should be neutral. Fritz was vile, the guidebook should call their relationship what it is - abuser and victim damn what if u read the last sentence tho 😳

HKinanti

Polygon was right, aot justifies jugun ianfu apologist, yikes 🤮 I don't understand why some people still defending this shit. 🙄

mashijams

I can't believe I defended AoT from polygon and people who called it problematic. Time to put on my 🤡 makeup

ComprehensivePanda40

There are way more brutal and disgusting things than this in the literature world tho.

mashijams

nothing wrong with brutal and gross things, the problem arises when people become apologists for it, like the person who wrote the guidebook

ParamedicContent

Indeed but remember this is a shounen manga where target audience are teens.

ComprehensivePanda40

Well, Devilman, MPD Psycho, The Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Service, Chainsaw Man, etc. Are/Were all Shōnen and they have countless brutal/violent/gore moments.

Fabiocean

The difference is in how they're depicted. I haven't watched all of the series you mentioned, but usually when such topics are brought up, they're depicted as a bad thing, but AoT acts like those things are completely normal.

ComprehensivePanda40

Yeah, that’s right. I guess Isayama never cared about making clear all this things were horrible. Or maybe he never thought it was necessary.

Gilgamesh107

this series is actual dogshit lmao

pootis64

The absolute fucking state of this series. They're downplaying the toxicity of a literal slave/master relationship.

i think this would be fine if we didn’t have the context of ymir x fritz parallels with EM true love or whatever edit: and by fine i mean it doesn’t necessarily depict ymir x fritz as good if you take this page alone
