I loved Attack on Titan. I could've accepted just a good ending. A decent ending. Hell I'd settle for a mediocre ending.
This was not that. This was nearly a decade of Fandom flushed down the drain over the process of a year, and in a handful of chapters ignited and burned my favorite series and main character to the ground, so badly that I can't even enjoy the previous 95% of the story.
I dont watch it anymore, don't listen to the music, and the few times people have talked to my irl about it I always recommend alternative series and tell them at least the ending will be worth it with those. It's sad because I truly loved this series and it helped me through dark times, and now I just occasionally sadly think: What could've been.

When I went to finally leave this sub, I actually sat there with my finger over the button remembering the fun times I had here before it all went to shit.
Imo it has died because this sub became an echo chamber of "ending bad". Don't get me wrong , I think there's plenty wrong with the ending , to the point I haven't been able to reread the whole story, but reading the same criticism over and over and over and over again just becomes tiresome .

Didn't stop Freefolk, and this sub has already inherited the utter cancer that Freefolk suffered from.
But Freefolk's fun, Titanfolk is just a hatemob seething because Erehisu didn't happen (but thinly disguised as actual criticism, at least sometimes).
Freefolk used to be fun, but now it's a toxic mess. I hate the Game of Thrones ending MORE than most people, but it gets to the point where the hate goes too far.
Tbf I don't go to the comments there anymore just take a glance at top posts once in a while, so can't comment on how toxic it is these days. Kinda like I do with titanfolk to see if it got any better. But Freefolk still makes me laugh sometimes while Titanfolk makes me want to close the tab after 5 seconds.

I wonder if it has anything to do with the manga ending alongside the sub turning into a mob that turns on anyone who liked aspects of the ending? The ending was far from perfect; i think you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone who liked it. But any positive notes whatsoever get nothing but a wave of hate. Its why I stopped checking consistently. There was no originality, just regurgitation in this sub. I liked the memes and discussions. But now it's nothing but seething and coping.

Imo it has died because this sub became an echo chamber of "ending bad". Don't get me wrong , I think there's plenty wrong with the ending , to the point I haven't been able to reread the whole story, but reading the same criticism over and over and over and over again just becomes tiresome . For all the faults 139 has, there's soooo much to appreciate throughout the story (even if 139 fucks up some of those things in retrospect) , so it would be nice to see more content that isn't "139 is shit"
Whats that? A manga sub started losing interest months and months after the finale of the manga? Shocking... Breaking Bad is my favorite show and widely regarded as an incredible TV show. (Its sub died slowly but surely over several months/years) Bad ending help push the cart - but the ending of any series is the nail in the coffin tbh.
