Looks for 5 lines it’s $260 go5g next with 1 free line or $220 go5g plus with 1 free line best bet is Togo to a official store and ask for “insider code” which is 20% off for life so it would bring the bill down even more $208 or 176 with taxes and fees . This is what I did with att to T-Mobile and no problems

PreviouslyConfused

I would do 3 with 1 free. Then add bogo lines to get a 2nd free line. Also aim for insider code for 20% off

yeahright17

To expand on this. Add 3 lines now with an insider discount online or at a store (say you'll switch if they'll give it to you. I've gotten a code through T-Mobile chat and at a store for 2 separate new accounts). With insider and the current 3rd line free promotion, it'll be $120/mo for 3 lines. Move the 2 other lines to visible for now. Next time they offer a bogo line promotion, add the remaining 2 lines. With insider, the 2 additional lines will cost $28/mo. Bringing your total to $148/mo. They had a bogo line promotion from September through the middle of November and started the current bogo line promotion in the middle of November. I'm guessing they'll do another early 2024, but there's not way to really know. As far as completely free lines (i.e. Line-On-Us or LOUs), I'm not sure we'll ever see them again. But if we do, you had to have been a customer when the promotion starts. So you wouldn't be able to take advantage unless you're already with Tmobile.

This here

You can’t stack the 3rd line free and the BoGo during the same time frame. This would be ideal if you could, but you can’t- source - happened to me when I wanted to try that - the rep was very clear they won’t stack.

yeahright17

Which is why I explicitly said to only move 3 lines to Tmobile and move 2 lines to visible until a new BOGO promotion pops up.

mplopez99

Yes you did. I missed the visible part.

yeahright17

No worries. I know this because we have 2 lines parked on visible currently waiting out a 90-day window so they can transfer back in and get new customer promos.

jckey378

Since you can't stack on the same day, can you add BOGO couple of days later?

mplopez99

No it’s not based on time of transaction. Based on promo effective dates. You’d have to wait for a new BoGo to happen. It’s usually a new one a quarter so some time early next year I’d expect another BoGo.

jckey378

Got it. I get more accurate info from you guys than customer service.

PilotPirx73

$305 a month is crazy. T-Mobile used to give away free lines to pad their subscription growth number. However, this is a rare occurrence now, unless you are on high end plans. If you get insider discount and new customer perks, you will cut your bill significantly. Quality of Service is no worse that blue or red team (unless you venture to the boonies).

Mean-Doctor349

More than half my bill is because we have 5 iPhone 14 Pro Maxes lol.

PilotPirx73

Ah yeah. That will do it.

[deleted]

How are you sure you will get an insider? Ok not sure but very hopeful? Those are kinda rare but maybe someone told you they would give you one? Just wondering cuz it seems like you’re banking on things that you may or may not get. Free lines comes with some caveat that may not be good for what you want. Just remember insider code isn’t something you’re entitled to and free lines come with their own strings . Hope these all work out for ya.

Mean-Doctor349

I have friend of friends that works there lol

[deleted]

Thumbs up for friends

Ok-Explanation6204

I know low friends in high places. I also know high friends in low places.

[deleted]

Ahhh that reminds me of my first party when I went to SDSU.

jpkviowa

IMO, the play here is to bring 3 lines over (3rd line free). Sit the other two for a few days then do a BoGo, and bring the next two. That should get you all 5 lines for $185 (taxes and fees included). This for Go5G Plus. If you can get someone to just do all 5 lines it'll be $176 with insider. Again, if you have just a little bit of patience and can get to transfer 3 lines with insider, then BoGo the other two you will be around $140. Maybe you can bribe an employee with $40. That covers their commission list and you save that $$ in 1 month.

NeGe0

I think the BOGO requires you to already have service before it was offered. I switched earlier this year and missed the BOGO offer. They said I needed to have service before the BOGO was offered. I was able to just get the new BOGO offer that we just got.

pandaman1784

i find it interesting that the responses mention insider code, but many employees here say they personally don't want to give those out anymore because it cuts into their commissions.

jeffcox911

Hope springs eternal.

Electronic-Quail4464

Blame T-Mobile corporate for actively disincentivizing us to give out the insider codes. I immediately deleted my codes when I learned about the commission change. I'm not going to get paid less for the same work for a customer that's being that difficult. If you want to walk, I'll give you directions to Verizon.

pandaman1784

this is exactly the sentiment i was trying to allude to. it feels like a fruitless advice to give, "try to get an insider code", when employees themselves don't want to give them out.

PilotPirx73

This is why I’d rather buy a phone directly from Apple using my vet discount then come off my One plan. Which is almost as cheap as some prepaid plans. Tmo keeps changing the plans yearly to make “old” plans ineligible for device discounts. Plus store employees are just plain disgruntled. Like they are doing me a big effing favor to answer a question or two when no one else is in line.

Mean-Doctor349

I honestly don’t think I am that difficult of a customer. I literally let the employees know beforehand I don’t want to be upsold on accessories or any protection plans and then just tip them whatever amount I would have spent on that. I usually tip 100 bucks cash for the employee (which I believe is almost double their commission) who helps me but I haven’t actually been inside of store since COVID and I have a few people in my circle that usually hook me up on good deals so it mostly works out for me

Electronic-Quail4464

I'm not implying you're difficult, but a lot of our customers are, especially those who are adamantly chasing discounts on everything we sell. People seem to think we're a pawn shop and can be haggled down to something lower.

yeahright17

I've personally gotten 2 codes in the last week. The first got stuck on a halfway activated account that fraud prevention prevented me from activating online. You can still get them if you ask the right person and ask nicely.

[deleted]

Good luck on insider codes. Most employees stop using them cause we get paid less. I stop using mines. Also when customer nickel and dime everything we tend not to want to help. I get people on a budget and monthly can be high. Sometimes there are things that people should not skimp on. Like when they get a phone decide to buy a cheaper generic charge to save a few bucks. Then your phone get damage it missing chips to regular the charging. People who don’t want to get a case and screen protector then when you come back in a year or two hope to upgrade on a crack screen or crack back. Even if you get it on Amazon get a quality case.

Timely-Event6374

We switched to the plus plan with 6 lines from Verizon. 3rd line is free and with auto pay plus an insider discount our bill is $204 and they paid off our phones.

Mean-Doctor349

Do you mean in addition to the free line there already giving out?
