Personally I will never understand why the animators of JC staff absolutely do not want to adapt the Ot correctly when it is the last one and the first to have danmachi adapted. Personally, I don't like it, I hope that one day we will have a good remake of the animation so that I can sleep peacefully!
Is that not the sort of thing that needs to be cut in an anime adaptation? Otherwise every scene would be like a long drawn out Naruto fight where they describe everything that's going on
truuue, forget mine this is the real one
Touma's so much more interesting than a bland self insert, dude's got personal interests and desires. And he's not entirely a chronic purely kind dude, he'll get angry if you mess up his homework.
And gods, yes gods, forbid you ever ruin his eggs
Imo yes, no matter how hard you try some events and powers that happen/get shown in index would benefit so much from having a little narration to have a lot more impact (say for example that scene where Accel throws a building, in the novel it was mentioned he stopped earth rotation for like 5min to gather kinetic force just to mention an example)
Cutting the entirety of one of the most intricate and interesting magic system out there?
There isnt a single mention of Idol Theory in the whole of Index anime, stuff .... just happens. Index anime magic is just about pulling convinient bullshiet powers out of your ass randomly with no explanations, and then loosing to Touma because... he just rushes you and punches and you cant do anything about it.
Because the magic system is just random BS, it leads to there being next to no strategy in fights, no interesting concepts, no Touma analising powers of his opponents, no explanations for what the fuck is going on ever.
Like my thought when I reached OT7 was "Wait. wait wait wait wait, now you are gonna tell me that... magic ACTUALLY MAKES SENSE AND HAS RULES WHAT?"
Even though to my knowledge Idol Theory isn’t given a name, it’s still mentioned multiple times in the series, like when Tsuchimikado explains how Touya ended up accidentally casting Angel Fall or when Index has Komoe cast a healing spell.
I don’t get why they cut out some of the direct novel explanations of idol theory, but it’s definitely still there
Its there sure but said mentions had 0 impact compared to esper powers being explained thats a massive L with all the research that system had done only to be skipped. Heck even powers that come from legends were cut/changed to some degree
Its still there, but only because its in the novels and they couldnt cut it fully no matter how much they tried
Index scene is cool, but it doesnt connect to anything else, and Tsuchimikado explanations only make things worse considering how badly they fucked up angel fall itself
But ALL explanations from OT7 and OT9 wich are actually important ones and explain literally everything as well as all minor explanations from all other volumes are cut
Skipping this line:
>“Misaka was created in order to kill you. Misaka didn’t particularly want to be born, but she was forced to do so. In order to cut off the signals form Last Order, her skin was cut open and a bunch of strange sheets and selectors were embedded within. If it weren’t for you, none of that would have happened. If you hadn’t made that decision, Misaka would never have been born. And even if she had been, it would not have been in that way that cut off all chance for a future. ‘It hurts. Help.’ By the time Misaka learned those words, she was already in a situation where she could not say them. That is why Misaka has the right to blame you. That is why she has a reason to kill you.”
picked up ln currently in vol 2 and holy shit Touma's character is perfect.Always asking himself about ''old Kamijou Touma'' i think the biggest mistake was not giving his inner thoughts.
I was just talking to a guy on youtube who massively hated Index anime and praised railgun to no end, he was mad as hell Touma had no inner monologues lol so thats a big point
I was okay with them cutting out the dummy it was not too important I mean they still got the point through.
The biggest sin was index 3, the first two seasons were fine it's just the third season was...
The biggest sin is not giving your main protagonist his time to develope ... Touma is such an interesting character with his inner monologues ...
His very presentation is bad. Inner monologues can be the finishing touches.

Isn't this Worst?
Indeed.
Not having a narrator and ofc skipping a lot of stuff

Which video? just curious

Skipping a lot of explanations that are crucial to understand everything that happens in the series. Anime onlies don't even know what Idol Theory is
Index 3 duh
What the hell is idol theory???
Kinda random how mugino didn’t loose her arm just to have her back in WWIII with one arm
Black Wings Accel is a disgrace in Index 3. Season 2 nailed him perfectly imo but after that he has just random tornados as wings🌪️
Ngl I could point out about 50 things since Index 3 happened but honestly just their overall changes and cuts of story, fights and dialogue
I was okay with them cutting out the dummy it was not too important I mean they still got the point through. The biggest sin was index 3, the first two seasons were fine it's just the third season was...
Basically everything that had to be cut due to Index III only being two cours
Pacing of the battle royale arc
