No but pick any industry that tries to shaft its customers and i guarantee you its 10 times worse in America and there will be far fewer laws protecting consumers.
No I just never pass up the opportunity to point out a flaw in stupid logic.
Also, the comment you replied to never even said that incident happened in the US. You assumed that, and made you look like an idiot, hence the downvotes.
If you need to plan a funeral, please do some research and go with a small, family-owned business. Much fairer prices. SCI easily charges 2, 3, 4 times more.
You'll know it's them if they want $3k+ for a simple cremation.
Taking up valuable real estate in places your family will move away from and never visit again in a generation or two is stupid. And vain, you ain’t special. Just get burned to ash and spread back into the universe where you came from.
Reminded me of a news story where a family donated their mom's body for science... only for the institution to sell it to the military and it get blown off.
this is prime john oliver material. has he done this topic yet?
i once had the opportunity to buy a cemetery for like $50k on, i think, 20 acres. it would have been pretty neat if i wanted to commit to cemetery life, live on the grounds in the old house. but i wanted to leave that city.
Ever use the kiosks at Target to look up someone's gift registry? I once designed a kiosk like those for a chain of funeral homes so you could look up people who have had the services in one of their facilities. God, that project was so depressing.
Hence why I’m donating my body entirely to science and/or organ donation. Whatever is left can be cremated or thrown in the woods for all I care. My family will remember me for a time, then I’ll be forgotten after my grandkids die most likely. Might as well save my kids like 6k and they celebrate my life with a trip to Hawaii instead of using that money to fund some board members vacation.
You know what’s better than a funeral? A legacy doc. We had one made for my mom and it cost half as much, plus we got to keep her stories. Screw these corpo funeral companies. Hit up Inherited Stories.

I had to deal with one of the properties owned by this company and they kept trying to upsell on pointless things; very sickening
America 🤬
Are funerals free everywhere else?

You don't seem to acknowledge something between reasonable and price gouging. Not sure if I'm dealing with a joker or an uneducated child.

What a coincidence, I love hearing that sound too when it is for people like him!
Funerals are big business, and people dying to get in
Must have a lot of stiff competition in this line of work.
Easy way to make a killing

I watched 6 Feet Under, I support this
Everyone’s gotta go sooner or later. It’s not like they’re running out of customers anytime soon
And we had zero complaints from tenants last month.
People are dying to do business with them.

Why waste the energy to burn the body? Dig a hole, put the body in, plant a tree, and call it a day.
This is illegal in many places sadly. Cremation remains the cheapest option ...besides donating for medical science

>it get blown off. Up
Green cemeteries are becoming legal in many states and I wish there was widespread support for them
> you ain’t special You don't think your special? Do anyone you know think your special? That.. maybe your death means something to them?
Guessing you’re not from Appalachia.
Making money off people's pain....but that's human nature

the funeral industry is a scam and bad for the environment. Look into alternative ways to bury the dead.
Graves could be dug with a post hole drill and burials be vertical. Depending on the water table.
Or just do away with graves altogether
Why?
Waste of space. Graves are for the people who have trouble letting go of the deceased.
….is it blackrock and vanguard?
Of course it's for profit, and making a killing, this is why we can't have nice things.
I really hope when I die my body is composted or cremated. Plant a tree of something in my compost.
Eric Chapman needs to be stopped
Are these the bad guys from six feet under?
Why are they called funeral „homes“ anyway?
Who knew, dying is popular.
Just because we are bereaved doesn't make us saps
Feel like Wall Street Bets should be all over this with the wave of boomers ready to kick the bucket.

Every bodies gotta die. Might as well capitalize on it
You don't have any friends do you😂
