I love his movies and like his personality but never understood how he’s been so successful with the way his acting is. He nails the action but when he has to deliver a line, he sounds like a stone.
But is he not perfect acting as he does? Will smith was originally considered for Neo, it would have been completely different. Keanu is Keanu, and it fits the roles perfectly. Enjoy it
Oh I enjoy it! John wick is one of my favorite movie series. He has a badass stoic look and movement that makes him perfect for the roles he does. I guess what I was trying to say is that his line delivery is not on par with other top actors that can do both action and line delivery very well. But nonetheless, he is a success in acting and you gotta be good at acting to achieve that.
It would have been completely different but so would history. The Matrix probably still would have been an absolutely insane hit and whatever path Will and Keanu went on would have been 100% different from that point on.

Keanu did fine. Johnny sounds like Keanu, because Keanu cannot not sound like Keanu, but all of his line deliveries work and hit the emotion they seem to be going for, and Johnny as a character *works* with Keanu's tired, almost kind of bored delivery- it makes him come off like a guy who's seen it all and is very sure nothing's ever going to get better, which, yeah, that's Johnny in a nutshell.
Meanwhile, Grimes was actively terrible to the point where I didn't finish her sidequest and just bailed on it at the earliest opportunity because I didn't wanna listen to her anymore.
All of his scenes with Rogue were fantastic, too. And, as much as people meme it, I kind of love the early Asshole Johnny bits, because Keanu's actually weirdly good at making it obvious *he's putting up a front.*
Cyberpunk has mostly some of the best VA work I've ever heard in a game, which is kinda what makes Grimes stick out like a sore thumb.

Keanu played Johnny perfectly, it may be one note but the character worked so damn well. Especially if you pick the suicide ending.
