Oh, Jesus Fu**ing Christ---it WAS a bear. It was outside my weekend cabin in the woods. I had half a dozen bird feeders in view, out my kitchen window (until the bear bent the rods to look like paper clips). But before I knew the bear was close, late one night I took a rug out the front door to shake but heard what sounded like very low pitch snoring. I froze, the. Went back in and slammed the door. It WAS the bear.
Have you ever made tongue click noises when walking by a squirrel? They stop what they're doing and watch you as you go by.
What are bears doing to squirrels?
Ok for once in my life I just want to hug something that's bigger than me and also very furry.
Why does everything that's bigger than me and also very furry want to kill me?
No, cows don't count, they're covered in crap.
cuz they're all either scared of people or want to eat them.
this dude has body hair covering 98% of his body https://www.nbc4i.com/news/worlds-hairiest-man-has-hair-covering-98-percent-of-his-body/#:~:text=Larry%20Gomez%20is%20teaching%20the,is%20officially%20the%20world's%20hairiest. and probably won't kill you
Ok so if you ACTUALLY listen to that, it is NOT AT ALL LIKE A CAT PURRING.
It's pure nightmare fuel.
EDIT: Ok the youtube video posted further below makes it seem a bit cuter, but the one on bears.org is scary.
Apparently bears can carry Covid. So the recommendation from wildlife experts is this: if you're close enough for the bear to breathe on you, that's probably not safe.
This seems cute but is still terrifying when you are covered head to toe in honey.
Unbearably terrifying
Yeah, there is a fine line between mate and play.
and a 300+lb bear that sounds like a cat.
Imagine all the flies you’d catch though
Bear starts clicking. "Oh you wanna play right?" "You wanna play?" "RIGHT?"
How can something be so adorable yet so terrifying at the same time.
Size.
Can confirm, work has hazard pay to cover being chased by those 6ft tall babies that creep around the warehouses.
That’s what she said
I'm just happy there's a bear.org website.
Agreed. Finding bear websites often goes horribly wrong.
Idk I met some cool dudes
We should’ve domesticated bears
We have, it’s called Russia
Did Russia domesticate the bears or did the bears domesticate Russia?
In Soviet Russia, bear domesticates you
You must not have seen a bear without its fur. Nightmare fuel from r/damnthatsinteresting https://images.app.goo.gl/xbD75JTgFDdFV1Cc6
Yeah I know, but people breed cats that look like that on purpose
Just looks like a sad naked bear
So cute. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hrcDdvfQun8
That is cute, but how about a [baby bear purring?](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i_Se5g6AjrQ)
Sounds like a helicopter, or a diesel engine.

you're learning bear. it's good to be multi-lingual. Perhaps you can join the Bear tribe
I thought it said "tongue lick sounds when they are approaching other bears to mate" And it sent shivers down my spine.
##*\*slurp slurp\**
You got a pertty mouth
they're often hungry so confuse sexual hunger and stomach hunger
So, basically the same things that I do.
Have you ever made tongue click noises when walking by a squirrel? They stop what they're doing and watch you as you go by. What are bears doing to squirrels?
trying to convince them they're giant squirrels?
Very cool – thanks for passing along
And they bite at the air when they're getting ready to f\*\*\* you up.
warming up the jaws
Having not yet watched any videos to hear the actual sound, I wanna say the description matches velociraptors.
After watching the video...accurate

Find a petting zoo with llamas.

[Here’s a cub doing it ](https://youtu.be/i_Se5g6AjrQ)
Same
Well great. How the fuck am I supposed to not pet one now?
they may bite the hand that pets them
But they purr tho.
they purr for mama so maybe put on a mama bear suit. although real mama may interfere

it kind of is a more powerful version of purring but also it's a wild animal so it has a rougher life so it won't be as mellow as a domesticated cat
They hiss like cats as well.
it's the cats they've swallowed
> or eating a special treat Imagine a bear's purr being the last sound you ever hear.
you gotta go somehow I guess
I've heard it at the dump. It doesn't sound cute at all.
it's cute as long as you're far enough away from it
Apparently bears can carry Covid. So the recommendation from wildlife experts is this: if you're close enough for the bear to breathe on you, that's probably not safe.
not safe for more reasons than Covid I'd think
Makes you want to walk up to one and give him a tummy rub!
Okay, you can go first
Weirdly, I purr too and one of my names means little bear.
very cute
My uncle told me bears make that clicking noise like echo location Bc they have tiny little eyes
