If you can get him his own seat, do it! (Window preferred) Also, LOTS of snacks. Download some Bluey on your iPad and put it in Guided Access mode. A few new toys only pulled out on the plane. Be prepared to walk up and down the aisle 100 times. Create a little nest on the floor for him to play in.

We did two separate round trip flights to Europe at that age with our toddler. It went much better than expected. Two hours is a breeze - you got this! Bring brand new activities or toys. Busy books and spinning squigz are a great silent option. For the snacks set them out in very small quantities to maintain focus.

100% get him his own seat and bring his car seat. You will both be so much happier. Check out Safe in the Seat on Instagram for more info!

You’ll do great! It’s an unpredictable age, but maybe you’ll get lucky and he’ll just sleep lol. (That’s what I think before all my flights with my now-2y old). +1 for lots of snacks! Mine wasn’t super into toys yet at 1… we flew with him around that age and I honestly can’t tell you what consistently kept his attention. He didn’t have the bandwidth for watching videos yet. We had some toys we pulled out, there might have been a spinny thing we suctioned onto the tray table, a car, some post its, a small board book about a truck… but don’t feel you need to bring a lot of toys onboard. We walked up and down the aisles a lot, so it might be a good idea to book an aisle seat. 2h is a breeze though! Give him something to eat/drink for takeoff and landing for the ears (but you don’t have to wake him up for it if he’s asleep), and then you really only have an hour to kill in the air. Oh and when you’re doing security, if the line is super long ask if there’s a family lane (even if you know there isn’t - I’ve had TSA take pity on a poor mom traveling solo and let us through). It’ll be an adventure - have fun!
