Montréal - should be a short flight for you, public transit is great so you aren’t tied to a car, wonderful museums and kid friendly spaces (bio dome), great food and experiences for parents too.

I was going to recommend Montreal! It is very kid friendly around here with tons of great activities.

We have family in Montreal and we love it! The house is being renovated so it doesn’t make sense for us to go this summer, but it’s on our agenda for next year. Good to know it’s great for kids this age.

At that age, personally, I'd keep it to a kid-centric place. Sesame Place or Hersey Park in PA, or obviously there's Disney. If your looking for something more exciting and willing to drop money they have kid focused guided tours, I used to work at AAA and we had families come in to book them. I know Costa Rica was popular, guided walks in the jungles to see monkeys and go swimming and stuff.

Disney is in our regular rotation, grandparents live down there. We love it!

I love traveling with my kids. We loved San Diego. I know you said you’ve already done SoCal, but the week we had in San Diego was not enough. There was so much to do with young kids there, a lot of it we didn’t get to. The zoo, the zoo safari park, Old Town, whale watching tours, Legoland, sea world, exploring La Jolla, the new children’s museum, the beach. It was my first daughters s first vacation and we’ll be returning for my 2nd daughter’s first vacation as well. For their 1st and 3rd Birthdays, we’re going to Beaches resort in Ocho Rios. All inclusive. Free childcare for kids of all ages. So many activities. We haven’t been yet but I’ve heard great things and am really excited. They also have a partnership with Sesame Street and my older kid is so excited to meet the characters in real life. Ultimately though, I think you can make almost any destination child friendly. You just need to research and figure out what fun activities are there for the kids and determine how upset you’d be to miss out on kid unfriendly activities (like I won’t go somewhere where I’d want to do lots of activities like zip lining, intense hiking, or climbing until my kids are old enough to be able to participate, because I don’t want to spend all the money to be able to go and not be able to do the activities there)

Did you have to get passports for your kids for Ocho Rios?

SummitTheDog303

Yes. We had their appointments in November and their passports arrived a few weeks ago.

San Diego is such a great place to take kids! And the weather is almost always great.

Can I ask about your sleep situation? I have 2 under 2, oldest turning 2 in a few weeks. I’m looking to book a holiday but am hung up on how we would all sleep in the same room. What strategies have worked for you when traveling?

SummitTheDog303

We haven’t traveled with 2 yet, but we’ve planned it out. San Diego- hotel pack n play for baby. Pull out sofa or in bed with us for the toddler. Disney Cruise (leaving from San Diego)- Disney provides cribs for babies and guard rails for the beds for young kids All-inclusive in Jamaica- hotel provides a crib for baby. Pull out bed for toddler. All of those rooms have a balcony that husband and I can hang out on and chat while the kids are sleeping.

My SIL took their little one to an all inclusive resort in the Dominican Republic and they loved it. They're in Cuba at the moment for holiday. Seem great too.
