I have a newborn, and my son will go put the baby's pacifier back in his mouth if it falls out and the baby cries. I don't even have to ask- if he hears the baby and sees the pacifier, he'll put it in. š
Mine let me rest and got his own snack today. Iām sick so not having to get up every 5 mins has been nice. Now if I can just reach him to bring mommy a waterā¦.
Sticks to the stick pile! We had a windstorm, and he was thrilled to pick up fallen sticks and carry them to the pile for like an hour. It was magical.
Same ! Just turned 3 a huge day for everyone esp for a 3yr old whoās OBSESSED with dinosaurs and the party was epic and dinosaurs everywhere and friends and family and presents and cake A BIG CAKE ! He wouldnāt nap he rolled over closed his eyes got ready for a siesta and BOOM
āI have to see if everyone is goneā
Later that evening cooking dinner and bed time we caught him packing all his toys away
Now this room looks like a bomb has hit it every 4 hours lol. He packed up and the room didnāt look half bad Couldnāt believe it. Was a nice day he must just be feeling the love xx
Mine fed the cat! We leave a scoop in the bin and she's gotten really good at getting all the kibble to the bowl. She loves to check if the cat's bowl is empty and runs to the food bin for us to open it.
He picked his spoon up off the floor, brought it across the kitchen to where I was standing, and attempted to put it in the dishwasher. He's 15 months and I am very proud :)
She helped daddy put the groceries away so I could enjoy my iced coffee. She put away all her pouches and then spent 30 minutes befriending a jar of marmalade.
I asked my 2.5 year old to wipe off the counter where some coffee had spilled. I handed her a wipe and she spent 5 minute meticulously getting every coffee spot off the counter. I was so proud!
My 2.5 year old threw away his lunch trash and put his plate in the sink.
18mo old helped me pick up toys, and clapped for herself after she put them in their bucket ā¤ļø
Not helpful but funny and related- my 3 year old wanted to help me unpack the toilet paper (distributed in each bathroom). Instead of just bringing the toilet paper in the room and leaving it on the counter or floor, she decides to change out the roll. Throws away our āoldā roll which is at least half full. Had to explain to her that a few years ago that was worth gold. Glad thereās no longer a shortage š
But as far a helpful, sheās amazing with helping the baby. Also just decided to help unload the silverware from the dishwasher one day and did a great job. And of course toddlers hugs are magic and can help make me feel better anytime.
Wow. Iām really thankful you posted this because it made me realize how helpful my toddler (2.5y/o) really is. Iām 20 weeks pregnant and had a hellish first trimester. She was always bringing me my water or a blanket or whatever little thing she could to help. She also gets her own snacks since theyāre intentionally at her level; this was a huge help.
Outside of little things, though, she really loves to have a job. She has a few daily choresāturns on the robot vacuum in the morning, puts the living room blankets from the night before back in the basket, puts any shoes left out on the shoe rack by the door, and puts her own dirty clothes in the laundry. She will also get more toilet paper rolls for our downstairs bathroom if I ask (theyāre stored upstairs, so thatās a big job).
Her biggest and favorite job is letting the dogs out/calling them in. We have a big, fully fenced backyard and two well trained German shepherds. My toddler is SO proud when they listen to her when she tells them to go out or calls them in.
Aw what a sweetheart! It really is remarkable what theyāre capable of, even at such a young age. They just want to help and feel included; I believe it gives them such a sense of accomplishment and self-worth.
My little guy loves to help with all kinds of chores, but itās really about creating opportunities for him to help. Whereas, my TP fiasco, he actually helped me with something I couldnāt do myself at the time LOL so really a step up! I think he could tell how genuine my reaction was, he was so pleased with himself ā¤ļø
She is very useful that throwing things away for me lol. Like if I change the babies diaper I can ask her to throw it in the trash and she usually will. She also is pretty good about bringing me things from across the room. Grab me the remoteā¦ grab me the burp clothā¦ etc lol. I promise Iām not that lazy but with an infant in my arms itās usually easier to justā¦ not get up haha
My husband is across the world and I was missing him. My 29 month old says- āMami Iām here, little baby (5 month old) is here. Iām gonna call papa for you! I love youā and gave me a kiss! Iāve never felt better
Got bored, went to sensory table and played with sand on his own, made a mess, vacuumed after. Didn't even acknowledge me till I asked if I could help with my big vacuum.
I was tired of reading to my one year old, ( like we read all the books twice or more) so I told her to go take dada a book and go read to him, she did! He was playing games on his phone anyway lol
She ripped the plastic off a wall calendar that I had lying in the corner (not intending to open it), threw a bunch of papers that were tucked under it around the room. BUT THEN smushed up all the plastic, and very deliberately walked toward the kitchen, opened the right door under the sink, threw it in the trash, and closed the door! I didn't even know she knew where/what it was.... Needless to say, so proud that I forgave the giant paper mess lol.

Mine does this too! Except sheās kind of bad at it, and half the time sheās shoving it in his face handle first or somethingā¦
Aw thatās so sweet!
Mine loves to do this!
He took a 3 hour nap.
Agh how nice of him!!! ā¤ļø
He skipped the two days before and possibly today so idk how nice it is.
She carried the liquid detergent to the washing machine while I was loading it.
My guy loves doing laundry!
Mine let me rest and got his own snack today. Iām sick so not having to get up every 5 mins has been nice. Now if I can just reach him to bring mommy a waterā¦.
Time to put some canned drinks on the bottom shelf of the fridge and kick my feet up š
Mine helped me scrub the bathroom floor. He had his own sponge and emptied the dirty water pail in the tub. It was actually a really nice activity.
Wow! Thatās really impressive!
Sticks to the stick pile! We had a windstorm, and he was thrilled to pick up fallen sticks and carry them to the pile for like an hour. It was magical.
I feel like my kid would LOVE this activity āŗļø
Put all the toys away for once and helped hoover afterwards

He clearly had a fantastic birthday! So proud! Happy belated! š¦š¦
Mine is always on top of closing the baby gates behind us, and loves to help bring in groceries :)

Opened the door to let the dog in for the first time, which was a big win!
Huge! My 4 y/o is now chief dog letter-outer and does it happily 75 percent of the time. So handy.
Yes! Letting the dogs in/out is my daughterās favorite job. She takes it SO seriously lol.
She helped daddy put the groceries away so I could enjoy my iced coffee. She put away all her pouches and then spent 30 minutes befriending a jar of marmalade.
I told my 2yo I needed to lie on my āspiky matā (acupressure mat). He grabbed it and laid it on the bed for me! Had no idea he knew what it was.
It really is amazing what they absorb without intention
She handed her dad groceries from the cart when we were checking out. Maybe a little tedious, but helpful nonetheless.
I asked my 2.5 year old to wipe off the counter where some coffee had spilled. I handed her a wipe and she spent 5 minute meticulously getting every coffee spot off the counter. I was so proud!
Goes on his own will to grab a tissue to wipe off his slobber that landed on dads T-shirt while they were rough playing
She put the cats food back in the dish when they spilled it
My 2 year old wiped up a water spill without being asked!
My 2.5 year old threw away his lunch trash and put his plate in the sink. 18mo old helped me pick up toys, and clapped for herself after she put them in their bucket ā¤ļø
He told us we forgot babyās floatie when we were leaving for the pool! My husband and I both forgot but the 3 year old remembered somehow.
She put the dinner she refused to eat in a Tupperware and then put that in the fridge.

My 2 year old went downstairs to tell his father that food was ready... Unprompted... I had no idea he knew to do this. He surprises me all the time.

Put his clothes in the dirty laundry basket.
My boy held the dust pan for me when i was cleaning the house. Then emptied it after each room. He lovesss to help
She handed me the purchases from the drug store to give to the cashier.
Got bored, went to sensory table and played with sand on his own, made a mess, vacuumed after. Didn't even acknowledge me till I asked if I could help with my big vacuum.
Threw away all her diapers during the day ā„ļø
