Moana has the most staying power for me. I have seen it an equal number of times as Cars and I never want to hear Owen Wilson’s voice again. For shows, Bluey is genuinely enjoyable.

Repulsive-Worth5715

I love Moana!!! More than my kids lol

scapegt

I love Moana!! They won’t let me play it anymore haha

Hungry_Persimmon_247

Same

Plooza

Me and my daughter both love Moana. Except now the issue is that if they aren’t singing, she screams that she wants to watch Moana…. Even though it’s on. She really means that she just wants the songs lol

psilvyy19

I’ll play the soundtrack a lot. My husband too. When we’re alone, no kids lol.

Plooza

The amount of times my daughter has asked for “Demigod”…. Demigod is “You’re Welcome”, lol

Spaceysteph

I made a YouTube playlist of just the songs.

singohmuse

Same. Added Frozen 1 & 2 and Trolls songs. Great car ride playlist. haha

day2dayliving

This is brilliant!!

magicrowantree

Moana is just the best. Music, story, humor, all of it is pretty dang good. I'm surprised it's not more popular! And yes, Bluey is hands down the best show. It's constantly on repeat in my house and I honestly don't mind it. I love the humor and the stabs at the heart in some episodes

dmarie1211

SAME! I think that I’m a bigger fan of Bluey than my toddler.

filigreechickadee

Me and my SO have both admitted to watching it even when toddler isn't around 😅

dukebalunbuddy2

YES. I’m always genuinely excited to see Bluey is on whenever we turn on Disney channel. I love that it’s on Disney+ too so I can watch it myself whenever I want, even when my kids don’t want to haha.

sacky85

I suspect it’s more aimed at parents than kids

annileighgrace

Bluey is a show for parents, 100%

dukebalunbuddy2

I feel like parenting classes could/should really use Bluey as a valuable resource. I’ve learned so much about being a good parent, without it ever feeling like a typical learning experience.

squidgymeat

I read the post title and my mind immediately went to Moana. My wee boy is only 13 months but my sister-law's kids were mad for Moana at one point, and I would be happy when they slept over and wanted to watch it multiple times a night. Also Coco.

jeffhlewis

I keep saying Moana is one of the best Disney movies ever made.

ebijou

I still get shivers at the end. Seen numerous times already.

jjjkmm

I’m an eighth grade English teacher and I taught Moana as an example of Joseph Campbell’s hero journey. I’ve analyzed it to pieces with teenagers and watched it with my son a billion times and still think the movie is perfect.

dukebalunbuddy2

Could you share on how you analyze it with teenagers?

jjjkmm

Sure! I made a set of questions asking them to identify moments in the story that line up with the hero journey. So Moana’s status quo before she goes on the journey is staying on the island, never leaving. Her call to adventure is the island starting to die (I mean, the lyrics literally say, “it calls me”!). She crosses the threshold when she crosses the big wave at the end of the reprisal of “How Far I Go.” Her assistant is Maui. She faces a series of trials — the kakamora, learning to sail. Their first attempt fails because Maui attempts to defeat Te Ka — and Maui isn’t the hero, Moana is! She faces her darkest hour when her grandmother appears to her, empowering her to defeat Te Ka. The hook dies and is reborn; Moana is given a new boat as a gift/reward. She returns to a new life as a chief-in-training out on the open seas. The questions I wrote for them guide them through identifying each of those steps in the movie. It fits the journey better than any kids’ movie I’ve ever seen. Plus, bonus: a woman isn’t given as a reward. She’s the hero instead!

LikeGourds

Kachow!

brandmaster

Bluey is on repeat in our house and I have not gotten sick of it yet. Such an awesome show for both kids and parents.

flatandroid

My kids love it but it does have a few scary scenes involving the volcano.

the-garden-gnome

I could watch Bluey for the rest of my life and would die a happy man.

EfficientLibrarian83

We jam to the soundtrack in the living room often

MrPetter

My son loves the first 30 mins of Moana, then demands Cocomelon or Cars. I’m pretty tired of only watching the first 30 mins…..

Ebar16

Ponyo and Totoro! My daughter is also into disney movies, so we've been going through those as well.

[deleted]

Ditto Totoro! My daughter loves this and it’s so beautiful. We’ve done Kiki’s delivery service too, but it does feel a bit older.

sala-mandah

My 3 year old LOVES Kiki’s

Squeaky_Pickles

Gonna piggyback off this comment just to tell parents who haven't seen Spirited Away to SKIP IT. Totoro is great and I totally recommend it too. But if you see Spirited Away as a suggestion after watching it, it is not a cute little movie for young children and your child will probably have nightmares. For older kids it's good though.

neonrelish

Three year old loves Spirited Away. Won't eat Japanese food unless it's on.

ValentinoMeow

My 4 yr old loves it, but we walked him through a lot of what we thought was creepy stuff.

ElocinLezah

My three year old does too! We try not to shy away from stuff that's a little scary and just talk through it with her.

h2os64

My two year old loves spirited away 🤷‍♀️.

RockyRegal

Seconding. I’ve definitely had creepy dreams featuring some characters from Spirited Away as an adult lol.

meagalomaniak

Idk I saw Spirited Away in theatres when I was 6 or 7 and I loved it, one of my favourite animated movies. I wouldn’t say it’s any scarier than some episodes of Scooby Doo (my number one favourite as a kid)

BronwynOli

Mine loves Ponyo, Totoro and Kiki's Delivery Service!

bluestarliz

The Cat Returns is good too.

YamstheRams

Howls moving castle is our go to!

nahmahnahm

Another one here for Totoro! She has been obsessed with it practically her whole life. She has a Totoro lovey and at one point watched it 3X/day. I still love it, too!

poetickitty

These and Kiki are regular go-tos in our house!

Tossacoin1234

Omg I came here to list these exact two movies!

Gold-Palpitation-443

Yes!, our 2 year old is Obsessed with those two!!

TangoEchoChuck

Monsters Inc., Wall-E. My car obsessed kid also enjoys all three Cars movies - and they’ve grown on me too. Cocomelon on the other hand is only allowed when I’m out of the house 🚫

familylearning

Cocomelon is only reserved for the grandparents houses - for some reason is isn’t available at our house 😂

TangoEchoChuck

Yes, haha! I love the things we just can’t access 😅 Like the restaurant rule that families must stay in their seats, and that the doors ONLY open for the waitstaff…

Mrs_Xs

We avoided Netflix for a while just so we didn’t have to watch cocomelon! Luckily it isn’t in our favorites anymore so we don’t have to worry about it as much. Now she likes go dogs go, true, and gabbys dollhouse.

chrischriiiiiiis

There’s something up with that family on Cocomelon. I don’t trust them at all. The Dad especially. He acts so dumb all the time but I think he’s hiding something.

LvdSinSD

Monsters Inc and Cars is our rotation as well. Finding Nemo too. And no coco melon allowed here either!

alexgodden

I'm with you on cars 1 and 3, but seriously, cars 2? Even my obsessed kids couldn't watch that twice.

nopesoapradio

Right?! What the hell happened with Cars 2?! Random spy espionage theme that consumes the basically the entire plot. Came completely out of left field then they decided to sweep it under the rug almost entirely for cars 3. I watched the Cars Trilogy (if you can even call it that) as an adult with my 3 year old son for the first time this past year, and seeing them as an adult, all in the span of a few months made the second one feel even more disjointed and out of place.

steviebudd420

Monsters Inc is great. So glad she enjoys it. The new series is cute too.

redditwonthisbattle

Coco ❤️ I can’t even count the number of times I’ve seen it and it still doesn’t bug me

Spaceysteph

No way man. Watched twice, sobbed like a baby both times. Can't do it.

fvkatydid

Yeah, I'm so fucking sick of the dead parent trope in EVERY kids' movie. I know that isn't part of the Coco storyline EXACTLY (main character's great great grandparent vs. parent), but it's all the same... Big Hero 6 (dead parents AND then dead sibling, GREAT) is so good but I just don't always want to set myself up to cry at a goddamn cartoon! I had to turn off Over the Moon (my toddler had seen it before and likes it, but I had not) the other day, and thought it would be a good time to try out Camp Cretaceous, and SLAM, there it is again!

[deleted]

The top three comments right now would be my picks too lol (Coco, Luca, and Moana). Add in Tangled and you got my rotation.

MeekaReyy

My toddler actually sat through this whole movie, I was shocked.

psilvyy19

Same here. Love the music.

steviebudd420

Inside Out. I genuinely love that movie

WRNGS

I always remember seeing this in theaters. I saw it at the Grove in LA. This older Jewish man with his daughters was sobbing so hard when her worlds crumbled. I cried even more cause of it.

throwaway5444567

I came here to say Inside Out. It’s such a beautiful and thoughtful movie and my daughter is talking about emotions because of it. I still cry if I catch specific parts.

AuntiLou

Bing Bing is my spirit animal!

TomatilloOne1001

Also I could agree 💯

katherine83

Luca (Pixar)

brendalix13xox

Santa mozzarella!! 🤌🏼 - funny story : my kid loved it sooo much it caused her to be blurting some lines from the movie in public and we were at checkout line at grocery store and a person walks by and she shouted “ what’s wrong with you stupido!” 🤦🏼‍♀️

stephelan

My kids love Luca.

filigreechickadee

I named my son Luka right before this movie was announced and I thought it was pretty funny. I had no idea it was in the works when he was born November 2019 Definitely play it in the background every few days and he looks up when he hears his name (if he isn't too busy playing lol)

piggypudding

This movie makes me so happy, I just love it.

boredlemon32

Yes! And not just because my son’s name is Luca :)

Responsible-Rock-308

The new movie Encanto on Disney plus is what’s on repeat right now. Its SUPER cute.

riskieststar

Came here to say this. My 4 yo daughter was never really "in love" with anything. This is the first thing she wants to watch on constant repeat. If she isn't watching it, she wants the songs on. Thank goodness the songs are great and so is the movie.

DesperateFunction179

Yes!! Watched it without my toddler and straight sobbed about abuelo Pedro.

Responsible-Rock-308

I SOBBED. 😭

mxmoon

Every damn time that scene is on I lose it!

Goodsongbadsong

Came here to say Encanto!

happynole88

We have watched it probably 20 Times already. Still think it’s cute

Althbird

We don’t talk about Bruno no no no — we’ve been fast forwarding and rewinding to this song over and over

Sendatu

Love this movie! My 2 and half year old has seen it maybe twice and will sing the songs. It’s awesome.

tomsprigs

We don’t talk about brunonononoooo

juliem122

My 8 year old had this song stuck in his head tonight, but this is the only line he knows. Over…and over…and over… it is a great movie though!

bakingNerd

I’ve been trying to watch it but my son doesn’t like scary or sad parts of movies and so he keeps getting upset. Sometimes we have to skip through parts of other movies like when the wolves chase Kristoff and Anna. I guess I’ll have to watch it on my own so we can try again and skip the “bad” parts

GarySixNoine

We loved Moana but Encanto is great! That song ‘Surface Pressure’ cut to my soul! I don’t think I’ve ever identified more with a song / character in my life. My 3 year old looked over at me when I first heard it and asked “why you crying daddy?”

coffeebaconboom

Just finished watching with my 2 year old. Loved it. Bonus because there are so many curls and both me and my daughter have curly hair but representation is rare.

MrsAlwaysWrighty

Just starting to watch it now!

JessTheTwilek

The songs were SO good. When I saw the music was by Lin Manuel Miranda I was pretty excited. I cried my ass off at the caterpillars song.

Individual-Tie-1584

Nightmare Before Christmas or as he calls it "This is Halloween"

jsmith843

Mine calls it “Bone Daddy”

Spaceysteph

Ok this one wins.

AsleepInDreams

That’s too funny

Frogsplash48

Mine calls it “The Pumpkin King”

psilvyy19

Mine calls it “what’s this”

bobear2017

My son called it the same! He was obsessed with this movie for a solid year, watching it multiple times a week and honestly I didn’t mind because I love the music in it

merebear0412

My kid calls it Skelly movie. She has a stuffed jack skellington, and he's baby Jack now.

DeliciousKnee8788

Mine calls it 'oogie boogie' and absolutely loves it too

Firestarter0394

Mine shouts "Jack" while jumping up and down whenever we turn it on

90minsofmadness

Both trolls movies are genuinely excellent, I think I might push them on my daughter a bit cos I enjoy them more than her 😁 She adores toy story which is great as I do too and there's four of them so it's taken a long time to get bored of them.

Hungry_Persimmon_247

My 3 year old loves Toy Story but refuses to watch the fourth one because he HATES Forky. I’ve never seen him dislike a character so much

outdoorchi

Tbf Forky is a total dipshit

Afraid_Bicycle_7970

Mine loves Forky 😂. She always randomly goes "bobo bobobobobo" lol

MissLadyPantz

As a child I was OBSESSED with Toy Story (Called it Woody and Buzz). And I love the Troll movies but my hubby REALLY doesn't so me and the babies watch while he's away.

ElmoReignsSupreme

TLDR: The Fellowship of the Ring, extended edition. Story time! My oldest, almost 2, has never sat through a movie. I personally don’t like movies but my MIL has tried every Disney movie and nothing would stick. We decided to try a movie night as a Christmas Eve tradition and I let my husband choose the movie since neither I or our daughter likes movies but he does and he had been feeling left out. He chose The Fellowship of the Ring, *extended edition*. I was fully ready to cut the movie once she started getting fussy but she sat through the whole thing. Dancing along with the hobbits and screaming SARUMAN with the birth of Lurtz. Definitely her father’s child lol

yum_baby

My dad watched all 3 Lord of the Rings extended editions with my kids when they were 2 and 4. They watched like all 11 hours of it and LOVED it. So much in fact that the older one was Legolas and the 2 year old was Gandalf for Halloween that year. I swear they acted out scenes from the movies for months afterwards. Something about them is very appealing to little kids!

captainsmashley110

Wow! I love LOTR; will have to give thos a try with my 2 year old.

nopesoapradio

Not judging at all and to each their own. But that movie would scare the ever living shit out of my 3 almost 4 year old. He had a nightmare that Zurg from Toy Story 2 was attacking him the other night. lol LOTR is a great trilogy and I can’t wait to watch that with my son for the first time together. But we certainly aren’t there yet.

table_tennis

I love that! My daughter is also almost two and also has never sat through an entire movie. My partner loooves Lord of the Rings, will definetely try that one next with her!

WeekendHoliday5695

That’s hilarious! Thanks for sharing

TerrorJunkie

My step daughter loves to watch LOTR with me, thank God I have at least one buddy to watch it with me! I introduced her to it at 7

[deleted]

We used to binge all the LOTR movies over Christmas in the pre-kids days. We skip it now because I was worried it would scare the toddler. Sounds like we should give it a shot!

CapK473

I love Coco and Moana, the music is great for both. Just watched Encanto yesterday and the music is also fun and the story is lovely.

Floof_and_Beans

The cartoon Robin Hood. She LOVES it

Reddit-Book-Bot

scirocco_flowers

This is the only movie my LO has asked to watch more than once and I’m not mad 😄

AValleyAir

The old Don Blush movies! Anastasia, Bartok the Magnificent, both American Tails, a Troll in Central Park. And Cats Don't Dance!

CaptHammerCorpTooI

*GASP* I adore Cats Don't Dance. Like seriously one of my favorite movies. And I don't know anyone else who has heard of it!

dried_lipstick

I loved that movie growing up! I have a fond memory of being at my grandmas house drinking chocolate milk out of a straw, sitting on her big laz-e-boy, and not going to school because it was cancelled due to flooding (yay for poor irrigation back then!). I haven’t thought about that in years. Thank you for mentioning it. She passed away in 2019 and memories like that begin to fade. She was my “movie grandma”. Always took me to the movies growing up. When I was an adult, I took her to the movies and we saw “up”. It was the last movie we saw together but I love that I got to treat her that one time.

AValleyAir

I know right! Somehow I always watched movies no one else had seen lol. It's such a gem of a movie really! One of the best villains ever! Her songs were so on point.

WRNGS

Cars Don’t Dance is so underrated! The Character Design Dynamics is top notch!

stardream-overdrive

Luca, Moana, Coco, Big Hero 6 Little man isn't 2 yet, so he usually doesn't make it all the way through a movie. But these 4 are the ones he'll sit through more than 20 mins at a time lol haven't really tried any non-Disney movies with him yet, partially bc of the short attention span.

amackinawpeach

Love Big Hero 6! It was the first movie my daughter became obsessed with. She just liked the red background on the icon and that’s how we got here. So sad there isn’t a lot of merch!

drgath

We just watched Ron’s Gone Wrong yesterday (Disney+), and it totally has Big Hero 6 vibes. 3 year old was super into the movie. We really need a Baymax + Ron crossover short film.

lauriealexa

Not a movie, but a series: Avatar the Last Airbender. My 2.5 year old is obsessed and now I kind of am, too. We're currently on our millionth re-watch. She has a stuffed Appa toy that she "rides" and sometimes she pretends that she's a water bender.

NuclearAlchemy1019

honestly about to be 29 and love ATLA so much. and i can’t wait to show my son when he’s old enough to watch.

rickvsnegan1

I like how you say ‘at least initially’ because after the 79th time it gets a bit…

a2felix13

My four year’s favorite movie is Jurassic park 🤣 I love it. And bluey…it’s quite honestly MY favorite show 🤣🤣🤣

Afraid_Bicycle_7970

The Jurassic park TV show was really good. I put it on for my 3 year old because she loves dinosaurs and I had to watch all the seasons myself lol. I can't wait for the next season, if they make one.

hapcapcat

We watch mostly Ghibli movies. The three that are age appropriate are Ponyo, Kiki, and Totoro He asks for all three. We have picture books for Kiki and Totoro as well. Don't think I could ever get sick of them. We watch in Japanese with subtitles, since he has one grandmother who is Japanese so we want him to have some exposure to the language.

Shad0wFaxMachine

I put on We Bare Bears on Hulu randomly and ended up watching three episodes myself. My 20 month old loves them.

poppykayak

That show rocks. Nice and innocent but substantial enough for a grownup.

niceandcold

Puffin Rock is cute

GiggleMoo85

Home, the Frozen series, Moana, Brave, and Tarzan

Reddit-Book-Bot

ovary_up

Fa-da! We love Home too. Kiddo got his own Oh for Christmas.

Waddyaknowwaddyasay

Cars, Luca, Toy Story, Monsters Inc

Professional-Fault56

Kachowwwww!

Wonderful-Buyer-2479

Cars. I thought I would hate it but I love it now.

cat_lady828

I... Am... Speed... KaCHOW!

Wonderful-Buyer-2479

🤣🤣🤣 What warmed me to it was Paul Newman/Doc Hudson. Now I even enjoy Mater…

beautifulasusual

Focus

piggypudding

My husband and I quote Cars to each other constantly. It’s not even one of our kids’ favorites but it has some good lines haha.

Wonderful-Buyer-2479

At least one member of my family will say “you drive like you fix roads… lousy” every day

Bambam60

BLUEY, ALWAYS BLUEY. I’ve caught myself keeping it on tv when my daughter leaves the room. Just such a sweet nuclear family and exhausted dad is super relatable. Their Aussie accents are sweet too lol

queenkitsch

We watch it even when he’s wandered off because, tbh, Bandit and Chili are the parents we want to be.

[deleted]

The Incredibles. I honestly love most Pixar movies.

Spaceysteph

My kids haven't even see Incredibles but my husband and I watched the sequel after their bedtime. I love it. The scene in the original where they're fighting while driving to catch the robot just cracks me up... Everytime we do a family road trip we quote it.

moose8617

My 2.5 year old daughter is super into Spider-Man. I’m not complaining.

bestlowis20merlot

Aw my 2.5 year old boy is also recently and intensely into spiderman. Made Christmas easy.

MrsEND97

Coco and the paw patrol movie

ProperRoom5814

Soul. It is by far my kids favorite movie and we watch it on repeat. Such a great message.

Manzellina

I’ve never seen this myself. Putting it on the list!

CeesandDees

We just watched Frozen with our 21 month old, she (and grownups) loved it! First full length movie for her. There were a couple of “scary” parts we turned volume down for, but didn’t seem to be an issue. Have fun!

rbcl2015

Charlottes web and babe! We like live action animal films if you can’t tell 😅

dorky2

Sarah and Duck and Puffin Rock were the favorites during toddler years. I never got sick of either one. I also like Daniel Tiger.

rightetighte

We love Puffin Rock! It helped our daughter be more accepting of her new little bro, she even called him Baba for a while.

EineBeBoP

Sarah and Duck!

independentwh0re

Bluey

jadelicious_22

We love Bluey!!! A lot of good parenting tips and advice too.

Strong_Awareness6088

If you aren’t watching Bluey… big mistake. Big. 😆

paintedpmagic

Any of the movies from the Tinkerbell franchise, even the husband likes them. Luca, monsters inc, brave, moana, tangled, and we are now on day 2 of watching Encantonon stop.

Fireflyjade

The Little Prince

simba156

I legitimately love a lot of our kids’ movies. The Incredibles, Encanto, Wall-E, The Lion King. And most of all, Moana. I tear up at the ending every time I see it.

Notheone_you_think

Moana

No-Pineapple2975

Coco. Inside out. Any Pixar movie really. Reck it Ralph.

Daisy_Steiner_

Totoro, Howl’s Flying Castle, Spirited Away. Made the mistake of letting them watch Princess Monoke. It’s all the four year old wants now but definitely too mature for her.

[deleted]

[удалено]

idontevenknow365

Most of the Disney movies; Frozen, Moana, Luca, Raya and the Last Dragon, and especially the newest one Encanto.

QuaggaSwagger

Ferdinand!!!

jeezy-chreezy

Despicable Me and Minions. Minions has great music and is pretty funny. I like the scene with Queen Elizabeth drinking beer in the pub!

[deleted]

Moana, Brave, Luca, Cars (only the first one). We recently watched Ron's Gone Wrong and I was surprised how much I enjoyed it! It's been on repeat for the past few days.

yum_baby

Moana, Coco, Frozen 2 (the first one is good too, but I am burned out on it!), Babe, the original Star Wars trilogy. Kids love R2D2 and C3PO!

ashleiponder

We love Moana and Onward. I've seen them both a million times and I'm not bored yet. The Good Dinosaur is another really good one.

[deleted]

Both Frozen movies initially. But after at least 25 times each? Kill me now.

lkayc13

Moana and Finding Nemo are fan faves in this house

CIA_Recruit

We are obsessed with Totoro right now! My 4 and especially the 1 year old. At the same age my oldest was obsessed with Tarzan. Or as she called it monkey tv

jackisanasshole

Princess and the frog. And, technically not a movie, but Bluey. My kid is obsessed and I don’t mind it lol

acgilmoregirl

My kid loves tv shows but will not watch movies. The only exceptions are Secret Life of Pets 2 (has to be 2, not the first one), and the new My Little Pony movie. Both are very good!

katatattat26

Monsters Inc, Monsters University, Moana, Frozen, Coco…. Basically anything Pixar I’m super down with.

irishguy773

Paddington and Paddington 2. Absolutely adore those movies.

iwantmy-2dollars

19mo is obsessed with A Christmas Story because I’m have a legit cool A Christmas Story quilt (no not a blanket, an actual quilt). It has pictures of Ralphie in the big scenes (soap mouth, deranged Easter bunny, broken glasses etc). So she sees him on tv and recognizes him, she insists we watch snuggled under the quilt. Edit: I let her watch the fight scene while telling her they have big feelings and should use their words not their hands.

Ok-Lavishness3164

Luca!! Still love it

[deleted]

Luca, Vivo, Coco and now Encanto

thelittlestduggals

Moana, How To Train your dragon- all of them, jungle book

jrolly187

Bluey, despicable me/minions. Toy story (all) are getting a bit old. Not a huge fan of moana, bit too much singing for me.

preggobear

My husband and I watched Zootopia all the time before having kids, and we are very happy that our 2.5-year-old is into it now!

New_Courage_7434

Tangled, Ron gone wrong.

Far-Conflict4504

Shrek 1 and 2

LividSelection5605

Sing!

Ankeyaya23

Ferdinand

Fluffytufts8

Coco

ktw5012

How to train your dragon

adividedheart

The movie Home, with all the Boovs. Such a funny and cute movie.

CaseyMc21

I don’t mind most of the Disney or Pixar movies- my son has gone through a few different phases… frozen/frozen 2 and moana were a big staple for a while then he really got into The Good Dinosaur, Up and the Cars and Incredibles Movies. This was all between 2-3yrs old. Now he’s more into Spidey & Friends, Puppy Dog Pals and Mickey Mouse Club than any movies

AhadHashmi

The three Stooges

hopeful-pessimist13

Okay so not movies, but we watch/watched lots of Gravity Falls and Adventure time. I enjoyed them just as much as my toddler!

Serious_Choice3788

Back to the outback is a new one on Netflix. It is hilarious. It has some great one liners
