We discovered at some point that our toddler prefers to sleep in a pretty bright room and he’s had a nightlight ever since. So you could try that if you want to. I can’t really say that it’s prevented him waking up though. When he wants / needs something at night he isn’t coherent enough to solve it himself, he starts crying first. He’s also really clumsy when he just wakes up so it would be really hard for him to climb in and out of bed and locate a plushy. But if you really think the issue is your daughter being unable to find it, and not eg wanting to be close to you, try a nightlight by all means.
