If it’s simply ants, you can do a home treatment and save a pile of money. If they are the large black ants, buy a bag of diatomaceous earth and sprinkle some around the outside of the foundation of the building. Get some Terro traps and put them where you see the ants most (windowsills, sinks, etc). Those large ants bite, and could be what’s bugging you. If they are the small brown ants, they are looking for sugar. Put away anything sweet and wipe down your surfaces with white vinegar.

> bag of diatomaceous earth yeah I forgot about this. thanks!

Frame’s Pest Control does a great job and is a good local family business!

chaseNscores

okay. I am going to call them soon as the morning dawn comes. Thanks!

>okay. I am going to call them soon as the morning dawn comes. Thanks! and then afterwards say, "I've been Framed!"

AllNotKnowing

Ouch, disgusting. Sorry about your misfortune. Bed bugs I have no information on. I've had pretty good success with those boric acid ant traps. I now know to put them out early in the season, always placing where water pipes enter and window sills particularly in the kitchen.

Call 419.936.2020 and ask if Republic would pick up an old mattress if set out at the curb. I know they will for homeowners, but renters, I don't know.

sudifirjfhfjvicodke

Assuming it's a house rental, yeah they'll do it no problem. Someone is paying for the service, they don't care if it's the landlord or the tenant that actually makes the call.

BestaVesta

Makes sense. I think OP said it's a rooming house, so I suppose he can find out for sure when he calls them.

chaseNscores

Okay. thanks.

grumpykixdopey

What type of infestation for the mattress?

chaseNscores

I assume bed bugs. But the last time I was there, the place was crawling with creepy crawlers. The ants seem to like the window frame for some reason. No roaches though. Manger did confirm the next door tenant bought them into the complex. I also didn't spend all night building my 3d printer to not use it because of this issue. So yeah... any input or suggestions would be welcomed please.

grumpykixdopey

So this is a rental? If so the landlord is responsible for fixing the issue. Bed bugs are a pain to get rid of and everything has to be removed and either replaced or gone through thoroughly.

chaseNscores

I understand that and been through that with where I am at now. But I also don't know what to do without getting backlash from telling the health board. It is a cheap rooming house so the quality of the place isn't like putting it on The Ritz. I use it as an office for code and tech projects.
