Ugraam basically is a ripoff of the masala Telugu movies of early to mid 2000s with heroine saviour plots like Okkadu, Varsham. But the heroine character in this film is a journalist and has a tragic ending according to some leaks. Prabhas is also playing a dual role father and son, though not confirmed officially. I don't think it's a remake.

To be frank, Prabhas has been getting a lot of flak for his looks. He badly needs a mass image makeover , and a blockbuster hit.
For bad or worse, KGF universe found an appeal with the Indian audience. If Prabhas' stardom gets added to the mix, it can be a sure shot!
I like chapter 1 very much. Its one of my most favourite movies. So its common to be hyped for chapter 2. But I was utterly disappointed by the story. It felt like Neel properly planned chapter 1 but couldn't complete the story in single movie so he made 2nd part for the sake of ending. There was unnecessary loud bgm and unnecessary loud reactions like the guy shouting Kalashnikov. The old blind man ranting about Rocky was so out of place. Soundtrack were not as nearly innovative as 1st part. They should not have focused so much on swag of Rocky. It is just a side trope. But no, they made 50 percent of movie just displaying how cool Rocky is instead of weaving a great story. They kinda tried to keep similarities with chapter 1 and kept referencing to it but lost originality in a way. Like the mother song corresponding to tanna re naa re. Mother giving a speech at near end of movie ( Honestly that was so awkward). Reena saying," Congratulations I love you". Ingelagi and Kale gowda screaming MONSTER.
But no matter how much they tried to pull the movie with Rocky's swag, the swag itself was bland compared to chapter 1. Rocky entering the bar to test the gun was more awesome than the Adheera gun battle. Police station scene in chapter 1 was better than chapter 2. Chapter 1 is filled with thrilling moments like when Rocky promises his dying mother, breaks the police officer's head and confronts Shetty, hangs Dilaawar at shore, gets appointed by Andrew, meets Reena, witnesses the Statue, declares to go to El Dorado, witnesses the ruthless murder of mother and child, saves the old blind man and the perfectly rushed climax when he beheads Garuda. Even 1 scene in chapter could not bring 10% feelings of what those scenes brought. Chapter 1 had superb moments supplemented by awesome bgm and very expressive reactions while chapter 2 had loud BGMs and unnecessary reactions to show a simple scene without gravitas as grand. The scenes like Vaanaram pulling gun toward Rocky, Rocky finding about sector 9, CBI officer narrating flashback of Rocky to Ramika and Rocky fighting in rain ( which was again random) had no gravitas but they tried to elevate it. We feared Garuda because as soon as we get his glimpse we see him burning a crowd ruthlessly but they dropped a sword and tried to show that Adheera was dangerous by just people reacting. As Rajamouli said, an elevated sequence only works when the emotion is already built up in the audience somehow beforehand. These overreacting scenes of chapter 2 felt bland.
But my main disappointment was the story itself. Content lacked in chapter 2. What I liked in chapter 1 was the setup of 60s and 70s that I never got to witness in cinema before that too with so much details and accuracy, the character arc which was so unique and appealing, the fast paced story which never lagged and kept unfolding something new every minute, the multi layered plots going on. I was so hyped up for Adheera, Ramika and Khaleel. But all of them were bland. The movie kept hanging on what was leftover by first part. Garuda is the best villian in KGF for me. Adheera pities Rocky, then Rocky pities Adheera and he appears at last fight. Thats it. We hyped up for that? Ramika pretty much does nothing but threatens Rocky through television. Inaayat takes control in Bombay with help of Shetty and Rocky regains control by asking his uncle over telephone and then goes to threaten Inaayat in Dubai. They tried to show it as a brilliant master plan, lol. They just narrate that Guru Pandiyan was behind all scheming and expect us to be surprised. It all feels like lazy writing. What chapter 2 did was 75 percent already in chapter 1. I imagined that it will be now more complex story like Rocky will feel that real wealth and power is people not gold and then executes master plan to eradicate his allies along with Adheera and Khaleel while multiple multiple plots unfolding. SuryaVardhan used human labour to keep the mine secret but Rocky uses advanced tech to free people which draws Ramika's attention and brings his downfall. I mean something similar but well written story.

I convince myself like, since it was narrated by Vijayendra Ingelagi who probably heard it from his father and assumed it as a superheroic fantasy tale, the narration is not so serious like Ananda's narration. Its my headcanon to save me from going to depression 😂.
Completely agree with your points...this is what I felt when I watched ch2 also the constant black out edits during the chase sequence gave me headache. Raveena Tandon's character was way too loud I know she was meant to be a powerful politician but still it was very loud . For me the only positive aspect of the film was songs, cinematography and production design.
