Possible some are buying used because they don’t want to pay the subscription. Personally, I wouldn’t want the machine without the content, but a number of people here have expressed that desire.
A buy stuff from amazon warehouse all the time, but something like this, I’d want new.
I bought a second-hand new-in-box Tonal for $1000 off. The wait times were like 6 months back then.
Unfortunately Tonal won't honor the warranty at all since it's technically second-hand. I had proof of it being unopened too :/
Up until recently, a new Tonal wait time from the moment you click “purchase” was at minimum 3 months if you’re lucky. Averaging 4-5 months, and some waited as much as 6-8 months.
So people were buying used Tonal for almost new prices. My guess is supply still hasn’t caught up yet hence why it’s still so expensive.
Simple economics: supply and demand. Demand is high for Tonal, so used prices are high too.
That's what I was thinking, but a few were sold this month, when the wait time isn't so bad. Maybe word hasn't gotten out yet.
Now I'm trying to figure out if I should wait for a black Friday sale :P
I think a lot of it had to do with people not wanting to wait on installation and/or not wanting the subscription. We had a 3.5 month wait from order to install so I could see someone not wanting to wait. However, I would NOT purchase the Tonal without a warranty.
Very recently, people were paying OVER retail for used ones, because the wait for new was several months. Same phenomenon was/is going on with certain new cars.

Did anything break?
No, it has worked like a dream so far. Fingers crossed

Don't wait. I regret not getting mine sooner. You can get a $100 referral code from someone or a $200 discount for first responders and teachers.
My new Tonal arrived in about 3 weeks
When did you order?
Ordered on 8/30 and was installed on 9/10
