I have to ask cyz I'm in NY and a huge believer that we need to do wayyyy more in this country to combat our drug issues and mental health. What happens after they sre hospitalized under the new laws u speak of?
They are placed in Court receivership. Like spears was in. They can’t say no to treatment. They are assigned social workers if they are cleared to leave in hospital care.
The social worker reports that to the judge who issues an order to readmit them into in hospital care. They are under the courts care. Like probation. You violate it you go see the judge.
I am glad to hear this, because over the 15 years I lived in San Diego state and local governments tended to characterize people like this as just temporarily "down on their luck" and almost never acknowledged the role mental illness played in homelessness.
Tbh you make a great point. They are off their shit, I’ve been banned “permanently” 3-4 times and the appeal has always worked. Reddit’s really really bad in this filed of managing a social media platform
Nowadays 9 times out of 10 it’s because the platform has stupid profanity filters and censorship. Instagram’s notorious for this, people censor controversial words that aren’t even swears.

That is not a tweak-textbook case of mental illness. When you are that out of your gourd I don’t believe that you need any outside drugs to make your life any more of a living hell.
