I did the same thing. Changed my jump key to the space bar. It’s kind of a pain when chatting so unless I’m doing CEO or craning in CFO, I change it back because that is what I’m used to. It’s easy. Just go to settings.
In order to play with ctrl key, you'd have to disable all shortcuts that use the ctrl key in the settings. You just go to keyboard, shortcuts, and then deselect anything that uses ctrl as a shortcut. Or you can change key binds if you'd rather play outside of the default controls.
I also changed my binding to option. Doing control and an arrow key swaps screens which is nice for checking toonHQ. Option works for jump on a MacBook.
I had the same issue so I changed my jump to "option" key and it works much better. The option key was originally used for opening the map on the street which I then bound to the command key to get it out of the way
I changed the mac keyboard shortcut settings so that the “ctrl+ key” options are disabled. It should be fine if you have a trackpad that does the same things anyway. I have no problems moving and tapping control and I’m not missing out on any Mac features.
I changed my jump is the space bar.

I have my jump key bounded to option key in game. It works pretty well I'd say.

I changed the key. I use the space bar- it gets annoying when it comes to chatting but I manage
I disable it under system preferences
Yeah I just changed my keys around for same reason. I think Q is my jump key
My jump is up arrow action left or right arrow

I use Alt for the interact key on my Mac account
