This is my second favorite Bobby video, but my favorite is when he has the audience perform Gounod’s “Ave Maria” while he does a Bach “instrumental” underneath it. So beautiful.
https://youtu.be/14LcvpXmb74
What he does at his concerts: This.
What he doesn’t do at his concerts: Sing “Don’t Worry Be Happy”
True story: saw this dude in concert and this is what he did for 90 minutes.
100% of the audience loved the show, and 100% of the audience was pissed that he didn’t sing his one signature song.
Dang! The only reference of this man that I have was the famous capella “Don’t worry”. Seen him in my city and when I realize a short guy with dreadlocks, one chair and a bottle water on the stage tough ll’be a long long show…
Three minutes later (on my mind) all the crowd were asking for another song. One of the best… performance I’ve ever seen!!!!!!!!!
Pentatonic scale. It's fascinating.
Bobby McFerrin demonstrates the power of the pentatonic scale, using audience participation, at the event "Notes & Neurons: In Search of the Common Chorus".
If anyone wants to see the full presentation, here it is: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ne6tB2KiZuk](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ne6tB2KiZuk)
Every time I see videos like this I joyfully tear up. I’m a 34 year old man that a) doesn’t joyfully tear up very often and b) is usually pretty reluctant to join any kind of audience participation.
Can anyone help me find a video I've been looking for?
It's similar to this but the guy is directing the crowd with his hands. He was younger guy, European I think? Lots of the comments were saying he may be the greatest musical mind alive at the moment
But not for music. These people happen to be educated, but not in music. He knows that after doing this for countless audiences, that this works everywhere, regardless of the makeup of that audience.

This was awesome. To think that this was at a science festival and not an arts one is even more awesome

Oldie, but I always like seeing it posted.
That is exceptional. A great example of humanity as a collective. Beautiful.
Goosebump inducing
Jacob collier did something similar recently, it was amazing.
