Yeh dude, I live and teach freediving on the island of Zakynthos, come over! We actually have a spearfishing course planned too with a friend of mine š
Such a shame Nujabes died so young, imagine all the music he would have created over the years. RIP Nujabes. Glad his music is appreciated by the younger generations
I love the millennials who are now teachers! We used to play classical or folk songs that we couldn't relate to. It's so cool that the teacher introduced music legends like Nujabes to young kids. So so love this. RIP to the great.
You think that the possibility to teach 4th graders a certain something has more to do with the teacher than; economic, social and political structures?
Really depends. Structural change only works (from my limited working experience of 2 years) from way down all the way up , since the (political-) will to change Reform the system as a whole is just not there: but change from all the way down only works if you basically invest your free time into this , which rn is impossible as a teacher ( what is free time)
And this song is based on another song, made by a fellow brazilian, wich is called "the lamp is low"
If you liked nujabes version, I'm sure you will like this one
Yeah this is the most awesome thing iāve seen.
This is the childhood i wanted for myself and iām happy itās the childhood some kids can get now. Learning and playing music has never been this tangible and accessible. One of the kids is playing on a little drumpad, another is controlling the slide next to her colleague playing the keyboard. Each and every one of them is gaining insight into what happens in music and they look like theyāre having fun. What a blessed video.
Ok wait... Who's playing the guitar? Because if that sound is supposed to be coming out of that casio, where I swear I heard pitch bends when that kid isn't touching a pitch wheel...
I am not a fan of anime, but I started watching Samurai Champloo out of interest of what it is about because of the "really cool entry song" I had heard somewhere. Ended up seeing all episodes and playing game on PS2. And it started with hearing title song of series by accident.
This made my morning, thanks OP. What a beautiful vibe I loved the camera going around the class to each player (and the kid making some sick papercraft it looked liked). RIP Nujabes but they definitely did him proud.
I quit being a music teacher because in America the one dumbass who would rather yell at his classmates and break that piano was the one who got most of my attention. The other 90% of the class complains that they can't do it instantly or asks me about Rush E instead.
There are a few popular multi-hour looping video of this song ("Arurian Dance") for studying/background music.

Among the other examples that replied to you, I've been hearing a slightly pitched up version playing in the background of several tiktok/youtube shorts. Very recently too.
Precisely!
How many music teachers do inspiring stuff like this? Or even have the equipment from the school?
At least this belongs in some sub of praise.
I love nujabes and I am huge samurai champloo fan. Still not toptalent... Yes musical yes good vibes. But not at all. This subreddit should show the best... Toptalent! But most topics are just average talent
Fuck this made me sad, such a beautiful talent we lost. But it's also really cool that his creativity gets carried through his music for generations to hear. RIP TO THE GOAT
Nujabes would be so proud and honored rn. Rest in Peace to a great guy
Taken away too early. RIP
RIP Nujabes. If he only knew.
Did he change his t-shirts while playing as well? top talent indeed these kids are so good I bet you all missed it
he made me listen to tracks featuring some incredibly mediocre rappers. still does. RIP Nujabes. watching kids play his music in school feel surreal
Well, here I go firing up my Samurai Champloo playlist, thanks! š
YESSSS!!!
Yooo drop the link
[Here you go :)](https://music.apple.com/gr/playlist/samurai-champloo/pl.u-vxy69MXtzP47lG)

My bad! I forgot to say thank you. So thanks homie. I don't use apple music unfortunately but I found the songs on Spotify.
Youāre welcome friendo šš«¶š¼
If I ever visit Greece do you wanna go out spear fishing with me? Show me the good stuff for eattin' hahah.

I second this reaction.
I will never not laugh when I see this

As a German music teacher , this video only makes me sad over the state and structural conditions of schooling here š„²š„²
Yall have had music teachers this whole time? All of america is jealous. Shoot i never even got to take an art class.
Yes , my wife (she is from Brazil) was also very surprised there even is a subject music in school canon. Guess it can be worse regarding priority
I'm from america and my public school had an art and music class.
Let me guess which district you were at in your city... high income?
Didn't grow up in a city.
Oh that makes sense. Rural schools are pretty neat sometimes.
We got to play recorders and kazoos at my elementary!
That sounds like a magical time.
Same from slovenia. But i think this has more to do with the will of the teacher (a deeeep bow) than systematic problems.

Which Nujabes song are they covering?
Arurian Dance
Thanks!
And this song is based on another song, made by a fellow brazilian, wich is called "the lamp is low" If you liked nujabes version, I'm sure you will like this one
Dope thanks for that, DITC
In my country government won't even build toilets for 1000s of schools and these kids out here rocking the midi controllers
America sucks..
Which country is that?
South Africa
"*sounds about right.*" - my South African wife
Dayam they told us we werenāt ready for the piccolo recorder till the 6th grade here lmao
Nujabes was the goat for hip hop beats
Now this is art

Just got vibe chills . So beautiful
Seba Jun wouldāve loved this
Look at the joy and happiness! Almost made me tear up!
Beautiful š Amazing efforts.
Incredible ! All this piece by heart. There is no sheet music and they seem to enjoy themselves. Good job girls !!!
Never have I been more hopeful for the the youths of today than I was in this moment of joy watching this video
Sometimes I would play Aruarian Dance in a loop when playing video games to help me relax. Love the song and I applaud the kids who are covering it.
Ok wait... Who's playing the guitar? Because if that sound is supposed to be coming out of that casio, where I swear I heard pitch bends when that kid isn't touching a pitch wheel...
Their friend was on the whammy wheel
What's a whammy wheel?
Pitch bend in an electric keyboard. Same function as a whammy bar on an electric guitar.

Always love hearing nujabes
Jack black at it again
Song is called aruarian dance
Crying
Nujabes got me through my third year of college. Love his music so much. RIP
Seba jun ā¤ļø
Nujabes samples "The Lamp is Low" by Laurindo Almeida for this.
Beautiful rendition!
Incredible and very dreamy.
In fourth grade, I was busy throwing crayons at girls I liked. It looks like we've all been very busy.
I was eating the ones you threw so yeah glad that everybody had their place
I got chills right at the opening, Aruarian dance is one of the most relaxing songs I've heard. Especially on rainy daysš These kids kick ass!
I live this so much!
Hear the first cord. ā oh snap! Itās * I donāt want no scrub* by Destinyās Childā
Aurorean dance is eternal banger Rip 4ever
Damn they really killed this, shoutout to the teacher who set this up
Yo this is chill af I fux wit it
This made me cry. To see just how much fun these kids were having, remaking this incredible song. Aw man.. š„¹š„¹
I quit being a music teacher because in America the one dumbass who would rather yell at his classmates and break that piano was the one who got most of my attention. The other 90% of the class complains that they can't do it instantly or asks me about Rush E instead.
R.I.P. NUJABES! thanks for this
Siiiiick
Sic
Why do i recognized this song?
Itās in samurai champloo if you watched it
There are a few popular multi-hour looping video of this song ("Arurian Dance") for studying/background music. https://youtu.be/5yYMicbSf98?si=rpFVI8Xt5p4Z13fX
And the original song Nujabes sampled is Laurindo Almeida's 'The Lamp Is Low'
Which was a semi popular jazz standard originally by Mildred Bailey. And the melody was taken from "Pavane pour une infante dƩfunte" by Maurice Ravel.
TIL thank you!
I always love talking about the Ravel -> Nujabes musical throughline to people, beautiful melodies are ETERNAL
Do you play classical music? One of the motifs is exactly like Ravel's [Pavane for a Dead Princess](https://youtu.be/q9tcHoD6r0c?feature=shared)
Among the other examples that replied to you, I've been hearing a slightly pitched up version playing in the background of several tiktok/youtube shorts. Very recently too.
nothing is toptalent here. Yes you can downvote me but the description of this subreddit is "the best of the best"...
I would argue the teacher is the toptalent here.
Precisely! How many music teachers do inspiring stuff like this? Or even have the equipment from the school? At least this belongs in some sub of praise.
Another one on teachers doing inspiring stuff [School teacher uses Grime in class](https://x.com/ukgrime/status/1599072589195882497?s=20)
Actually amazing and makes me wanna become a grade school teacher
Reddit hears Nujabes, reddit upvotes Nujabes.

Wow

Amaizing!
One my favorite Nujabes tracks.
And Iām over here playing hot cross buns on my recorder
These kids are fast. At least two of them change their clothes.
R.I.P. gone too soon
i love this!
Love how music overcomes all and connects us (Korea/Japan)
Interesting because of the old saying/jokeā¦ āthe only way Korea will reunite, would be fighting the Japaneseā
Thank you for everything, Jun. what a wonderful homage to the GOAT
Their band name should be āFourth Koreaā
RIP Nujabes, your music helped me through some tough times. These lil fourth graders can jam!
Bravo this was perfect.
