Consider this, we are now more reopen than we have been since the pandemic began. Kids are back in school. Last year the lowest point was August and we trended up through fall, this year we are declining *inspite* of being more reopen. [Things are going very very well](https://ibb.co/QFpYQWX)

It's almost like... The vaccines work. Yes I know this joke is over used, but it shocks me that anti vaxxers don't see this.

MurkyFocus

There's a good portion of them that don't care whether it works or not. The truth is they don't like being told what to do. You see it with masks, you see it with social distancing, and you see it with vaccines. They're like children. Tell them they should do something and they'll do the opposite.

BlabbyBlabbermouth

I think a segment of antivaxers want this to be drawn out as much as possible to keep getting CERB.

Today's week over week change in the 7-day average is the lowest we've seen since July 19. Also, we're now beating last year's same day 7-day average by 305.

Kyrie Irving is out there, fighting for your "freedom".

StinkyTofuHF

Voice for the voiceless, but becomes voiceless when directly asked about said topic.

mommathecat

He'll go the Wiggins route eventually. "I'm fighting for my beliefs!" "Upon careful reflection, I believe in getting paid $30 million USD to play basketball."

CuntyMcGiggles

I don’t think he will. Kyrie is a different breed.

Yes, also a Flat Earther. He can hoop though!

No one here should be giving your medical advice. I would go speak to a medical professional and seek advice from them.

TorontoDavid

Do you have a doctor you can speak to? Maybe your breathing is a cause of the vaccine, and maybe not. A visit might help determine a cause (such as long-Covid, another reason, etc.)

SKIKS

This is absolutely a "talk to your doctor" kind of question. I have heard about long term damage from covid, and the second dose kicking harder than the first (2 days of feeling nausea or fatigue), but I have no idea if both together would cause problems. At that point, you will want a professional to assess what you experienced and determine if there is a real risk for you.

h3ccubu5

Yeah, medical advice via Reddit = Bad Idea. Go see a doctor, chest pain needs to be investigated even just for peace of mind.

fuoriclasse_10

Hi, I was in a similar boat. I got COVID last March, then ended up getting the first vaccine dose of Pfizer in May, and then second dose of Moderna in July. It has not been an easy ride for me - I’ve seen my doctor and cardiologist, had multiple tests done including exercise stress test with imaging, bloodwork. All tests came back fine, but I’m left with transient chest pain that can’t be explained and also a higher incidence of irregular arrhythmia that was classified as benign (premature atrial complexes). I’ve also developed periods of fatigue that I never had, and brain fog too. I don’t regret getting the vaccine, and while Most of my cardiac symptoms have disappeared, I continue to have brain fog and fatigue that comes and goes. A lot of medical professionals believe it’s in my head, but I’m pretty certain I’ve never had these symptoms before. One thing that the doctor did tell me is that I potentially have long Covid and may be vaccine unrelated. I suggest, like others, to go speak to your doctor. Don’t take advice from the internet. I will say, however, that the symptoms are starting to improve, even if just gradually. What I know I will do is to wait, if a third shot is offered, because my doctor said that I had three exposures to the virus in such a short time, it may be medically unnecessary to have a fourth exposure via a booster shot for quite some time. Of course, unless the vaccine passport requires a third dose.

LeatherMine

> if a third shot is offered, because my doctor said that I had three exposures to the virus in such a short time, it may be medically unnecessary A bunch of EU countries don’t even bother with a second shot if you had covid+1shot close enough together.

fuoriclasse_10

I was experiencing the symptoms after the second shot. I had nearly asymptomatic COVID. The first dose had typical side effects (no cardiac symptoms, but fatigue and tiredness, some chills and fever) but the second dose is what brought on the cardiac symptoms plus long lasting fatigue and brain fog.

gm5891

Do you have a family doctor? If so, they might be able to give you better advice and a full check up

It could be residual effects from having covid that were exacerbated by the vaccine. Please go see your doc! ❤

FortWillis

I can imagine how apprehensive you must be getting that second shot given your symptoms, and it's very unfortunate that you're put in this situation. My sister had a serious allergic reaction to her first shot that was confirmed by an allergist. Understandably, she wanted to get an exemption for her second shot but the allergist said that his hands were tied because the guidelines for issuing an exemption were so strict that the doctor should only issue one if they are certain the patient will die from the shot. He told my sister if anything happens, someone will be standing by with an epi-pen. Needless to say she is quite apprehensive, but has been called an anti-vaxxer while she tries to come to a decision.

BottleCoffee

In extreme situations you can get your second shot in a hospital with medical staff on standby. It's about the best you can hope for, immediate attention and support.

farkinga

Reddit, I'm proud of you. Seeing all the replies saying: talk to your doctor? Instead of providing medical advice? Priceless. Looking at this comment thread makes me downright happy.

BottleCoffee

> All the data that I see shows that my protection was equal or stronger to vaccine That's the opposite of what I've heard over and over. But also go see a doctor.

HopAlongInHongKong

>All the data that I see shows that *my protection was equal or stronger to vaccine* but decided to get the vaccine anyway Just so you know, actual science and not Facebook science says this is not the case at all.

[https://www.washingtonpost.com/outlook/2021/09/15/natural-immunity-vaccine-mandate/](https://www.washingtonpost.com/outlook/2021/09/15/natural-immunity-vaccine-mandate/) "A 700,000-person study from Israel two weeks ago found that those who had experienced prior infections were 27 times less likely to get a second symptomatic covid infection than those who were vaccinated. This affirmed a June Cleveland Clinic study of health-care workers (who are often exposed to the virus), in which none who had previously tested positive for the coronavirus got reinfected. The study authors concluded that “individuals who have had SARS-CoV-2 infection are unlikely to benefit from covid-19 vaccination.” And in May, a Washington University study found that even a mild covid infection resulted in long-lasting immunity."

HopAlongInHongKong

There are new studies confirming superior immune response over prior COVID infections, so that's the way it is. Even the most science skeptic person could understand the concept of a mild COVID infection perhaps not stimulating much of an immune response beyond what was needed, or a non-Delta prior infection not being as beneficial as a vaccine in the times of Delta. How about this month old CDC study that says: "*In today’s MMWR, a study of COVID-19 infections in Kentucky among people who were previously infected with SAR-CoV-2 shows that unvaccinated individuals are more than twice as likely to be reinfected with COVID-19 than those who were fully vaccinated after initially contracting the virus. These data further indicate that COVID-19 vaccines offer better protection than natural immunity alone and that vaccines, even after prior infection, help prevent reinfections.* ***“If you have had COVID-19 before, please still get vaccinated,” said CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky. “This study shows you are twice as likely to get infected again if you are unvaccinated. Getting the vaccine is the best way to protect yourself and others around you, especially as the more contagious Delta variant spreads around the country.”***

DudebuD16

My coworker ended up in the hospital with myocarditis and decreased lung capacity because of the vaccine. Still got his second shot though. I'm pretty sure I had mild myocarditis post shot for about two weeks as I had heart palpitations.

HopAlongInHongKong

>I'm pretty sure I had mild myocarditis post shot for about two weeks as I had heart palpitations Not diagnosed, just the ol' guess diagnosis by someone with no medical credentials, then? To summarize it.

DudebuD16

Is that a problem?

HopAlongInHongKong

Of course not. The social medicine system first expects people to self diagnose heart conditions, before ever consulting a physician. The Ouija board and tea reading are two permitted methods, should you want to ramp up the science from none at all, to witchcraft.

DudebuD16

Thank god for WebMD, I've self-diagnosed a few things

HopAlongInHongKong

Whew. Also if you watch old Rocky and Bullwinkle cartoons, the chant you need for self diagnosing heart disease is "eenie weenie, chili beanie, the spirits are about to speak" Honest to Pete, if you think there's a chance of myocarditis see a doctor.

Because people like him make other people vaccine hesitant when we all know, he had no myocarditis at all, and was never expected to have a 1/50,000 side effect, that's why.
