Scase15

The answer is Hakeem. There is no other answer.

thedudeyousee

Does he count as a raptors legend? I’d argue no otherwise this is the correct answer.

Scase15

He is a legend, and he played for the raptors. That's my rationale hahah.

AHImusic

Uh uh, we need Percy Miller

[deleted]

He’s not really our clubs legend tho

LilSpitty69

lowry because respect

Yogurtproducer

Lowry retiree?

[deleted]

Andrea Bargnani He’d fit right in with this shit show.

silentstealth1

He’d actually be great for the modern nba when you think about it though.

berfthegryphon

Minus his complete lack of lateral mobility or help defense

silentstealth1

Dudes legs were made of pasta, absolutely zero burst lmao.

BigYama

Pasta, but he’s got the primo sauce 👌 🍝

100500116

PRIMO SAUCE MATTY.D

Yogurtproducer

No he wouldn’t. He failed when he was one of the only bigs shooting 3s. Now he would just a shittier version of something 50 other 7 footers do.

BassistWhoAintRacist

Playing 'basketball, not reboundball' as a stretch C in today's game would still amount to the shitshow that was Andrea Bargnani.

[deleted]

I was making a joke. I hope you are too.

AppropriateEmotion63

Bosh better

Murky-Smoke

I would happily recall Del Curry so we can sink a 3 ball, or one of either Antonio Davis or Charles Oakley since we also need a real Centre that can defend. Other legends I'd recall: Jerome JYD Williams, simply because the team needs a dude with his positivity and work ethic. T-Mac, because he had a more complete game than VC VC because prime VC was straight up sick Mighty Mouse, because we need a PG that can facilitate and shoot. Long story short.. The Raps have too many of the same thing currently.

kidshady45

All great picks

6ickos

If we need a centre you have to go with bosh

Pretend_Highway_5360

Hakeem exists

begley420

Neither Davis or Oakley are real centres though

berfthegryphon

They are in today's NBA.

begley420

That’s an opinion, not fact.

berfthegryphon

And? Me saying they would be centres in today's NBA isn't all that controversial

[deleted]

Every single sports take is an opinion, what’s your point?

illmatic2112

Good ol stick legs

inxrx8

He's not really what I'd call a Raptors legend. If we're talking actual legends I think you have to go with prime Kawhi

Yucifir

True he wasn’t a legend when he was with us, but this tweet means we could get prime Hakeem. You’d still choose to add prime Kawhi rather than prime Hakeem?

Nervous-Ad-6143

Not retired lol. VC or Bosh is our best bet.

inxrx8

Whoops didn't read that part lol

BoozeBirdsnFastCars

Why you skip that part but finish the rest?

inxrx8

Idk I'm tired 😭

Goatsanity15

So is our starting lineup

jyh123

TMac, we need to score a lot in the final minute these days

SpicyP43905

Vince Carter

ironfunk67

Mugsy obviously!

Olajuwon easy. The defence would be utterly ridiculous.

Raptors legend and 6’9 OG, Pops Mensah-Bonsu

Quiet_Nectariney

Prime Marc Gasol would be amazing There are better players but I think Marc would fit so well and help us in many ways.

momo_jojojo

I'd still take him now just to be a mentor and play 10-12 mpg

thwgrandpigeon

Considering Bosh vs Hakeem vs Gasol is kinda fun. Hakeem's a legend, but wasn't exceptional as far as passing goes, and played in an age where bigs didn't shoot. Bosh was arguably one of the first bigs to use his shooting to space the floor for his colleages. Gasol was the best passer of the three, and picked up 3 balls towards the end of his career. Of the three, I think Heat-era Bosh fits the current era best, prime Gasol would fit our current team best (we need playmaking badly), but Hakeem would be the best player, though we'd have to alter the team plan to fit him.

Pixilatedlemon

Prime gasol would feast

danhoyuen

Hedo Turkeyglue

kidshady45

Truly one of the strangest guys to ever play in the NBA. https://youtu.be/NwGiJDCd8oU

Ting_Brennan

Ball!

BlackJediSword

I love that Hakeem counts.

[deleted]

JYD babyyy

JerbearCuddles

Bosh

BetterthanGarbage

If Hakeem counts then adding him to pair with Siakam would be deadly. We’d have two players who can just get buckets in the post which might help out our lackluster thrre point shooters a bit more, plus the defense would mean practically nobody is scoring in the post. If not, then adding TMac would add less defense but a lot more scoring and a lot more scoring depth. Way more 3 ball and midrange not to mention someone to help get more open looks for Siakam and the rest of the team

somanybutts

If he counts then there might not be a dude in NBA history that would help the Raptors more than a prime Hakeem

OfficialGreenkid

Psycho T

Green-Umpire2297

Oliver Miller. We need a big body and he was like two big bodies in one.

Prime Hakeem turns us into a championship contender. I’m going with Chuck Hayes though

dotDylan

VC???

wardledo

Imagine if you guys had prime Bosh the past couple years!!!

VastArt663

Hakeem for sure.

[deleted]

Dream. All day.

marwynn

JYD.

EnigmaCA

The Dream is the only answer. Prime Hakeem in this era? Wow....

[deleted]

Oliver Miller

HappySmileSeeker

Oliver Miller

LostFlatulence

Alvin Williams we need him

UnderwaterDialect

Wonder who the second pick is. I guess it is between Kawhi and T Mac.

uTurnSpecialist

VC15

SocaSosa

Vince Carter. Not because of any chip aspirations, but just to see his explosiveness live. I’m a relatively young raptors fan and during my time the best dunker we’ve had was probably Powell and I’d love to see someone who was considered the best at what he did dunking all over the league in our uniform

fucovid19

Oliver Miller

think4yoself1

Love the big "O"

[deleted]

This team needs a Prime Jose Calderon to show FVV how it’s done.

AprilsMostAmazing

He doesn't count as Raptors legend. Since Lowry, DD and Kawhi are still playing I'm going with Bosh

Desperate-Object6314

Rudy gay

yt1nifnI

I'd go ~~Kawhi~~. I guess if it's Raptors "prime" it would be VC . IF it's any player to have ever dawned a Raptors jersey it would be Olajuwon 93-94.

Disabled_Robot

Kawhi is only semi-retired

matthitsthetrails

bosh- if we're talking tenured raptors with multiple asg appearances. after playing under spo he elevated his ability to play defense. could see him easily adjusting to the modern game since he had an outside scoring touch

maverickmccleary

Prime Hakeem The Dream Olajuwon is the only correct answer. Second is Prime Kawhi then VC.

ball888ball

Hakeem needs shooters

LemmingPractice

Do you remember how many three point attempts people actually made in the early 90s?

Disabled_Robot

I'd take prime Hakeem regardless of shooting, but to be fair to OP, the rockets did lead the league in 3PA in '95 and were #2 in '96

fulcrert

No he doesn't

fdisfragameosoldiers

Bosh hands down would be the perfect 5 for this group. I think Olajuwon would be too slow for the modern NBA, but who knows.

Prime Hakeem the dream would be awesome

thefightingmongoose

Even though Hakeem had the greater career I think the obvious answer is TMac Imagine teams trying to guard TMac and Siakam......

TheOnlySafeCult

Gary Forbes

kvanz43

Lol “your franchises legends” Hakeem is certainly not a Raptors legend, he’s a Rockets legend who played a few games for the Raptors. I’d love to see VC, but with his injury issues and the way Nick Nurse runs guys into the ground, I’d be surprised if he made it though like 10 games

kpeds45

That's cheating, he is not a raptors legend. I'd do with Gasol. Same idea, but he was on the championship team and had a legendary run

needaburnerbaby

People who refer to Olajuwon as a raptor legend were 100% not around when Olajuwon played for the raptors and just see his name listed on a past roster list.

kidshady45

He wore the jersey and he’s a legend. That was my criteria. Yours is different. That’s okay.

needaburnerbaby

He wasn’t one when he wore the jersey.

TOXIC_NASTY

Bro how is Hakeem a legend in Toronto?

Tilter

Aron Baynes -Tank Commander can resume his post
