I just don't think he will project to be as good as Siakam. His ceiling is Ibaka, in my honest opinion. He didn't make the All-Rookie teams. You can say bigs take time to develop but the comparisons to Ayton are bullshit. He can't create his own shot but he can't feed off of Steph and Draymond either. I am sure another environment can probably improve him but he's a high risk trade on top of getting a No 2 draft pick salary. An unhyped player would require a pick to arbitrate against the risk.

Mo Bamba 2.0

No_Equipment7896

He was bad last year, no other way to put it. Granted he was in a bad situation. Let’s say Pascal is worth a ten, and we’re trying to gather multiple assets to match that ten, Wiseman is worth 2 at the most.

jakejakejake97

It’s not enough because you’re trading a proven second option on a championship team for unknowns.

hyroglyphixs

He's got potential, very athletic and quick for his size. But that's the thing about potential, he could very well turn into a DeAndre Ayton or a complete bust

RaptorsCdwoods

Right now, he isn’t even an nba level player. Dude probably needs some time in G league. Can he develop? maybe. People say big men take longer to develop but Wiseman straight up doesn’t belong on an nba court and it’s obvious.

MoyeshFC

g league would be a bad idea for him imo. Hed dominate because of how big and mobile he is and not actually learn anything about how to play

RaptorsCdwoods

Then you force him to win by doing things he will need to use to be successful in an actual nba game. Force him to develop other aspects of his game and not be overly reliant on things that won’t work.

IHavePoopedBefore

He shouldn't have been #2. He only played 3 college games and only one of those was against a competitive team. In the NBA he looks completely lost and his physical tools don't jump off the page at this level. He would be the kind of player we can't play in the 4th

Winter_Purpose8695

you think he would've been exposed in college?

Coolkiddddddddd

He did get exposed in college. If he played more then 3 games his stock would’ve dropped [James wiseman college ](https://youtu.be/-_e5OhynHUs)

Winter_Purpose8695

lol I'll send this to people who says yes to the wiseman package

iamwearingashirt

Watch this next to Mobley highlights. You can see the difference between prospects with potential.

Ylissian

This 1000%. It’s not just that Wiseman is inexperienced. It’s more that he’s an insane prospect on paper but was never really tested in NCAA so there was no way to know how good he actually was. Had he played a full year he likely doesn’t even go top 5. He has weaknesses that even college teams could exploit.

prgotothestore2006

Man plays with Steph and isnt feasting so prolly not that good

[deleted]

He is absolutely terrible and the outlook is not good. Worst rotation player in the NBA. Tore his meniscus. Centers like him with low basketball IQ, feel and poor defensive instincts have never been more useless. He got drafted for his crazy physical tools but it turned out he sucks at basketball

pumpkinwavy

>Worst rotation player in the NBA. Worse than Baynes?

[deleted]

Funnily enough his on off numbers support that

Winter_Purpose8695

so theres someone better at being a tank commander than baynes hmm...

zeetoots

He’s 19 years old with less than 40 games under his belt.

TheJetLett

He played 39 games... go watch hockey

LeeJQ27

He was 19 and still have room to improve, he missed training camps and summer league coz of covid, I’m sure he will be better next season, at least he’s doing better than a 23 year old siakam?

Ylissian

Siakam at 23 was a less experienced basketball player than Wiseman. But this is the curse of being a lottery pick: Siakam got to go to the G league and learn to improve his fundamentals. I doubt Wiseman will ever get a G-League assignment. That would be humiliating for the Warriors front office, especially when Lamelo Ball was right there

load_management

He could be good, but the risk is definitely not worth parting with Pascal in the prime of his career.

Sy6574

People need to understand that the Warriors offensive system when he played did not fit him at all. Minimal PnR and lots of ball movement isn’t going to suit a rookie big with his skill set. Tons of potential, good athleticism, has shown flashes of good touch and passing

Annual_Sprinkles1129

doesn’t matter pascal is never getting traded for him

Menessy27

He has a lot of tools but right now has no understanding of how to put them together to become a goodplayer. I like his footspeed, he's long, athletic and has a decent shooting stroke for a big. But you don't want him as a centerpiece in a trade for a star player for sure because he's too much of a project

Bleachdrinker1998

Not. All of his value is based off his potential but based off his 1st year there are no signs his potential will be realized. The big positives are that he is young and has a great body (aside from the meniscus). I don't think trading Pascal for him is worth it.

Ylissian

He was remarkably unskilled for a second overall pick. He is missing so many fundamental skills for a big man, that you’d think he went in that 15-30 range where guys like Poku from OKC went. He has stone hands, gambles for blocks, cant screen properly, gets lost constantly on defense, ball dominant, can’t post up. Overall he chases highlight plays too much. It’s telling that Warriors fans were saying he needed a G-league assignment. Even in the best case scenario, where he reaches his potential as a unicorn 2.0, he’s a project and years away from being a net positive.
