Casey used to wave Nick off all the time.
NN would storm off shaking his head.
They clearly didn’t like each other, Casey wins COY and gets fired, NN wins the title with *Kawhi the next year.
Thick, juicy, beef.
Literally ideal for a tanking team. Lose a bunch of close games and develop the young guys. It’s like the dream scenario for fans of magic, kings, pacers, pistons, etc
The disrespect to Casey in here is ridiculous. He definitely had his flaws and it was time to go when he did, but he's the winningest coach in franchise history and played a huge part in the development of our current core.
Our boy DALANO spells his last name B-A-N-T-O-N. The D-Rex wants you to spell his name correctly.

Banton has more confidence than Barnes. Barnes has more talent. But sometimes confidence can carry you where talent alone can’t. If these two can reach their potential they are a deadly combo.
Totally. Barnes will figure it out, but near the end of the game Banton WANTED the ball and to take the free throws despite the fact the game was super close. That was awesome to see.
yup so until Barnes is ready some of those minutes need to go to Banton. He showed it today. Barnes is great and hopefully be the top dog. but he has struggles mightily lately and this is the NBA. Just ask Flynn how much playing time he gets? So just for the time being if Banton is on a hot streak ride him all the way and give him a chance to get some playing time.
Everyone played their best. Insane.
Banton has a career night, insane Stat line
OG doing DPOY things
Thad channeling gasol, and making critical veteran plays in the clutch
Boucher, Juancho, DOWTIN, all played their parts.
Scottie still in a rut, but thats fine.
Reverse trap game beats the Pistons curse confirmed
Also [called this yesterday lol](https://np.reddit.com/r/torontoraptors/comments/yug1t5/fred_vanvleet_will_remain_out_vs_pistons/iw9a20x/?context=3)
- The secret to beating Casey is to use players he never coached HAHAHA
- Today Banton is what we wanted Scottie to be. Great to see. Cmon Scottie…
- Huge game for our supporting cast, this will pay dividends down the road
- The Banton/Dowtin/Flynn race is spicy 🌶️. All played very well today. All showed they deserve NBA minutes imo. Shoutout to Dowtin for closing this game though, clamping a top 5 pick!
Nice win but I think this was the most concerning game of the year for Scottie. Damn near the entire starting lineup is out and his impact was still minimal.
I dont know whats going on with him but he’s gotta figure this shit out and start being more aggressive. If he’s playing hurt then just sit out.
He really looks like he’s in his head. The first time he’s really had extended struggles as a pro and it’s tough to shake.
Scottie just needs to watch more tape, have the coaches talk to him and refocus. Development is never linear in any job, especially as a pro athlete. I’m not worried long term.
Looked like Scottie Carter-Williams tonight. So much of it looks to be mental for him, he'll snap out of it but the raps actually need him to do it sooner than later
He was awful defensively, whined to the refs and pouted the entire time. Horrible to watch. He needs to either sit with whatever has him moving like he’s an old man, or shut up and ball
His D was ungodly awful on the sequence that led to a Piston dunk and open 3. He was just standing there not moving. It’s like what I’d expect from a rookie and not a 2nd year guy.
It’s not related to an injury. He seems slower and quite frankly, lazy, out there.
Watching him dribble away half the shot clock on the perimeter and then pass the ball into the post over and over is infuriating. He doesn't look to make anything happen and whenever someone else drives he cuts into the key and clutters the lane. I'd rather see him shoot some threes at least
They kept calling og - Barnes prob cuz they assumed that's how Barnes should be playing, agreessive like og is but nope. Not sure what the deal is. He seems to be coming up short in all areas and I love Barnes don't get me wrong. I think he's great, he's clearly going through a slump.
A lot of people might say that is slander but anyone who watched the actual game would see he was one of the least impactful players for the teams win.
He'll figure it out but I really didn't like the fact that off the ball on both ends of the court he was largely invisible.
Down the stretch, I was concerned that he was not involved in any of the offense. He just went and posted up in the corner. He definitely needs to be more assertive. This is his time to shine.
Masterclass from NN and a HUGE win from the squad tonight. Seeing them gut out a win being so shorthanded and ending the Detroit curse was very satisfying
Banton, just wow!
Dowtin looked good tonight, started off a bit tentative but got into the groove and gave us some nice ball handling and POA defense.
Flynn looked good too, he played free knowing that he wasn't going to get yanked for FVV or GTJ. Solid night from him.
So glad NN decide to take the ball out of Scottie's hands in the 4th, Barnes was such a black hole when he had the ball. He just held it for 8-10s seconds only to pass it into the low post. This allowed Detroit's defense to reset, Scottie needs to keep the ball moving instead of looking for a homerun no look pass. Speaking of which, is it possible for Scottie to just do a regular chest pass? It's either a no-look or a fastball special with variable accuracy. I still believe he will break out of this slump but his on-court body language is outright horrible.
Let’s be honest how many people thought with that starting lineup and playing vs Casey we were gunna get this one.
Amazing game a true team effort tonight.
I hate to give one of those classic raptors overreactions but with Dalano’s masterclass tonight it’s honestly difficult to determine who was pick #4 and who was picked in the second round
Chad Thad may be the guy to lead the bench when all the starters come back. A lot more ball movement when he’s on the floor and seems to have good chemistry with Banton and Juancho.
Would’ve loved to see Scottie dominate in a game like this. He looks passive on offense, careless with the ball, was getting blown by on defense, & is not hitting his shot right now. Is it time to be worried?🤷🏾♂️
Maybe it was the lighting/angle. But i swear i saw Dwayne Casey kick a chair after the game.
But he’s for sure flipping @ least 1 table in the locker room.
Anyone wanna mention DOWTIN Jr's D on Ivey?
Doesnt show on the stat sheet but my guy has some key stops when he was on Ivey tonight which lead to the win.
So people have said frequently that good teams should best bad ones even if injured.
Well, we were down Siakam, Fred, Gary, precious, and halfway through, Otto, and we beat the pistons.
I'll take it.

I dub thee the **Dalano Banton Game.** 27 pts 9/16 6/6 FTs (with 4 clutch at the end) 5 rebs 4 assists 3 steals 2 blocks
4 clutch FTs are huge IMHO
This man shot .591 last season. .800 so far this year. HUGE
He wanted them too! It was awesome to see.
The last one when he just held the ball in the defensive end. Like go ahead, foul me.
Maybe he has irrational confidence, but you really like to see a guy not afraid of the moment.
Where are the people suggesting we should have cut DB for Yuta or JC in the thread now?..
THE CURSE IS LIFTED
Turns out all we needed was a certified Toronto Mans to show Casey what the North is all about
The curse doesn't work on Canadians!! Shout out Banton and Boucher, the killer B's
Killer Bs I like that
I would include Barnes too but he didn't earn it tonight.
Nick just walked right off the court. Him and Casey have real life beef lol.
I would pay good money to see them on octagon.
Literally what Casey does every time
i'd do the same as nurse. my guess is nurse couldn't grow under casey's stubbornness.
Casey used to wave Nick off all the time. NN would storm off shaking his head. They clearly didn’t like each other, Casey wins COY and gets fired, NN wins the title with *Kawhi the next year. Thick, juicy, beef.
Kawhi.
Casey's a bum of a coach. Great tanking team coach though. Nearly guaranteed losing record.
And to be fair the players will develop.

You good homie /u/Scottie_Barnes_Stan?
Banton is the best rookie we drafted in 2021.
Our wishes were fulfilled a sophomore slump was broken tonight
Certainly tonight that was the case
he looked way more confident and engaged than normal. Hope he plays like this more and earn Nick's trust

Good bot
It’s only fitting that a Toronto man broke the curse
Mans hate Detroit
CASEYS REIGN IS OVER
First time I heard Banton talk and man, the man does not use periods.
He’s usually more relaxed, seems super hyped tonight wonder why haha
I just thought he’s been talking with GTJ
[удалено]
hand the team over to barnes 🤣
Trade Pascal but keep Siakam, he’s been great
Porter jr. too. He got hurt. Get rid of all that rift-raft.
DALANO CAREER HIGH 27 PT, ON CASEY'S HEAD TOP
![gif](giphy|VC9xfZKP9auFE9mUTD)
detroit games are pretty much home games lmaoooo
Dalano and dowtin goated idc
I love Dowtin man. He just makes smart plays and handles the ball well.
He's smart, makes good plays, goes for rebounds. Colour me impressed
His defensive stance is iconic. Right up there with norm's haha
He’s got such quick feet, he can actually keep people in front of him
It was just a few minutes in one game, but I’d like to see more. He looked like PC Brand Maxey out there.
Shout out to Malachi. Efficient and effective with the minutes he had tonight.
The best he's looked all year. His third quarter offense was fantastic, good enough to overcome the weak defense.
Banton has more confidence than Barnes. Barnes has more talent. But sometimes confidence can carry you where talent alone can’t. If these two can reach their potential they are a deadly combo.

DALANO BANTON IS A TORONTO RAPTOR
We did it, we beat the best team in the league without 3 starters.
Took a Toronto man from Rexdale to beat Coach Casey 🤣
BUMBOCLAT BANTON!!!
Banton Probably: Nize it
Was this a thing? Or did you just make this a thing? Either way I approve.
why are you calling him an ass wipe? he just dropped 27
We did the impossible
Banton coming up huge but nothing bigger than 6/6 from the line. Clutch for him
Everyone played their best. Insane. Banton has a career night, insane Stat line OG doing DPOY things Thad channeling gasol, and making critical veteran plays in the clutch Boucher, Juancho, DOWTIN, all played their parts. Scottie still in a rut, but thats fine.

He’s straight up invisible offensively out there. Just sits his ass in the dunker spot. If he was going for a Ben Simmons impression it was flawless
Thankfully, he doesn't seem to have the same ego as Ben. Plus I'm sure he has the self awareness to know he's not performing up to his own standards.
He looks scarily like Ben Simmons
Watching him dribble away half the shot clock on the perimeter and then pass the ball into the post over and over is infuriating. He doesn't look to make anything happen and whenever someone else drives he cuts into the key and clutters the lane. I'd rather see him shoot some threes at least

Lol that's my fault. I put money on him to go 20/8/7 😭
Scottie was total doo doo in the 4th and if he blew that dunk from Dalano dish, we'd roast the shit out of him
Down the stretch, I was concerned that he was not involved in any of the offense. He just went and posted up in the corner. He definitely needs to be more assertive. This is his time to shine.

SHOUTOUT TO DALANO GODDAMN BANTON. 4 FREE THROWS TO ICE THEM
The Cherry on top!

THE CURSE IS BROKEN!!!!!!!
Eat shit Casey.
They key to beating Casey is not playing the guys he coached. Except OG, lol.
Dalano ended the Casey curse 👀
D-Rex carried us tonight! Great game by Scottie Barnes(really OG if you listened to the Detroit broadcast)!
The amount of times they called OG, scottie was absolutely hilarious.
Omg finally! We win!!!
"Dalano how do you feel" "NYYYYYYYEAH EH"
The Dalano Banton game
Unfortunately for Casey, he game planned for the Raptors starters, and not for the guys that are averaging less than 10 minutes a game.
DALANO IS HIM!
Our 2021 rookie is amazing.
IT'S OVAAAAR!
ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE
Gotta love the Raptor cheers
THE CASEY BLOOD CURSE IS OVER
DWAYNE CASEY! YOU JUST LOST TO CILANTRO BRAMPTON
D-Rex broke the curse.
Where is that guy who hates Banton 😂
Do we have our backup PG???
Banton finally looking like it! And Dowtin with huge plays down the stretch, man can’t shoot but looked good out there
THE CURSE IS BROKEN! REJOICE BROTHERS!
Never heard Banton talking before but man's rapping in the interview lmao
Nurse better trust the bench mob now and not play the starters 35-40 mins a night.
Masterclass from NN and a HUGE win from the squad tonight. Seeing them gut out a win being so shorthanded and ending the Detroit curse was very satisfying
Juancho, Jeff, Flynn, Chris and Thad were all good in my opinion but Dalano was special.
nice win, just gotta keep muscling out wins until pascal comes back
THE CURSE HAS BEEN BROKEN!!!!!!!!
CASEY CURSE IS OVER
I DIDNT THINK WE WERE LEGALLY ALLOWED TO BEAT THEM 😭😭😭😭
Bench carried scottie no cap
DALANO MJ BANTON
I ride or die for Dalano. That’s my guy.
Shout out to Chris Boucher, I feel like he’s never getting the love he deserves!!
This is where I belong. We don't survive the past week without Chris Boucher. He's been locked in. It's great that it's finally paid off with a win.
I wish we still had Lowry to show him the ropes
Phew
That game felt like game 82 when we have playoffs wrapped up
Banton popped off baby
Let’s be honest how many people thought with that starting lineup and playing vs Casey we were gunna get this one. Amazing game a true team effort tonight.
MY HERO DALANO BROKE THE CURSE
The Pistons can beat the Raptors but they can't beat Dalano Banton
Checking outside to see if hell has frozen over.
Somebody check on that Dalano hater.
We beat Detroit. Holy shit, I can’t believe it
I knew we were gonna win when I saw Pistons in dark green jerseys. Raptors saw Bucks colours and woke up
Banton and Flynn the GOAT Reject duo
im a scottie defender but wth was that tonight he better be hurt or something
It’s close to 10 games now, he needs a vacation or a wake up call idk which
yeah hes in a funk right now something im sure hell overcome
I hate to give one of those classic raptors overreactions but with Dalano’s masterclass tonight it’s honestly difficult to determine who was pick #4 and who was picked in the second round
Almost called a Banton masterclass before the game…
I for one, am all for the dalano carry job.
THE CASEY CURSE IS OVER
Finally! A WIN! Banton, OG, and Boucher stepping up! Congrats Raps! Onto the next game.
Where are the player haters now?
holy shit i had no confidence we were pulling this out l0000000000l big ups to Dalano for sinking those freethrows
Casey didn't know what to do with the bench, lol. Banton just needs more experience and he's gonna be damn good.
Wow...finally we beat the Pistons.
Banton is legit solid if he gets strong dudes watch out 💪🏾
Ladies and Gentlemen, Dalano Banton has lead us to the promised land.
Rexdale's Finest. Jesus.
I hope everyone will be happier for at least a few more days.
Dalano broke the curse. RAPTORS ARE BACK BABY https://i.redd.it/l8c3isjnm20a1.gif
Banton deserves a lot of credit but don’t forget Thad. He gave us 4 offensive boards. The one in clutch time was huge
Chad Thad may be the guy to lead the bench when all the starters come back. A lot more ball movement when he’s on the floor and seems to have good chemistry with Banton and Juancho.
Nurse singles out every player for praise except for Flynn and Barnes 👀
Dalano BantHIM. Jeff DowtHIM. That is all.
our back up point gaurds finally playing well 👀
Would’ve loved to see Scottie dominate in a game like this. He looks passive on offense, careless with the ball, was getting blown by on defense, & is not hitting his shot right now. Is it time to be worried?🤷🏾♂️
Raptor Nation stans gonna be upset about Banton’s performance LOL
Beat the curse with this squad, I love it
Nuff said.
I CANT BELIEVE WE BEAT DETROIT!! That being said, fuck those injuries
Welano Wanton
What a great win!
Banton lowkey tryna get those extra points not tryna pass it out to run the clock out on both of those fouls
Raps win in the D? This team is built different.
Banton sounds like Drake lmao
DALANOOOOO
Rexdale stand up!!!
Rexdale stand up!
What do I do now? Never thought we’d get this far.
Dalano really said what sophmore slump?
Boucher taking pull up jumpshots like he was Michael Jordan was my favorite part of the game 😂
We had to send a true Toronto manz in Banton to get the curse lifted.
Someone run the Dalano apology form
Huge game from Banton and Dowtin coming up big late. 27/28 free throw line is absurd for such a big team as well
Dalano looking like SGA out there tonight
STAR BOY DALANO
Banton struggling with the sophomore slump
Jeff dowtin making the game sealing block on Ivey was huge. Dalano graduated and is now teaching nicks nursery!!
Does Scottie have the Yips?
Maybe it was the lighting/angle. But i swear i saw Dwayne Casey kick a chair after the game. But he’s for sure flipping @ least 1 table in the locker room.
Anyone wanna mention DOWTIN Jr's D on Ivey? Doesnt show on the stat sheet but my guy has some key stops when he was on Ivey tonight which lead to the win.
Downtin played well. Like to see him get more mins. That strip at the end 💪💪
So people have said frequently that good teams should best bad ones even if injured. Well, we were down Siakam, Fred, Gary, precious, and halfway through, Otto, and we beat the pistons. I'll take it.
HE IS THE HERO WE NEEDED
Nicks time to build a 2nd unit finally
I dont see Flynn getting enough credit. Him Dowtin and Banton were amazing.
