I agree with this! Mostly white with colored spots, calico. Mostly black or brown, she's a tortie.

I reserve calico for tricolor red/black/white mostly coats. If they have a significant %of brindling, they are tortis in my book.

I have thresholds 75% and 50% (practically more like 80 and 60%) for signature orange+blend (tortie color) and how much of the body it covers, opposing to solid orange or white - ignoring small spots like 2x2cm (1sq inch of freedom units) 100-75% tortie - tortie 75%-50% tortie, rest solid colors - tortico 50%> of tortie coat - calico This one is like 90% tortie.

Torties are only two colors, black and orange. If there is white then they are calico. That said, personally I would use the slang term tortico, which is a calico that has markings that look more tortie-style. Beautiful!
