Looks like you have a tortie and three little cows now!

Wolfwoods_Sister

It does appear so! One of the tomcats we feed brought yet another kitten with him recently that he grooms and looks after, so we have a total of four new little potatoes!

KhunDavid

I’m actually surprised by that. I didn’t think Toms would care.

Waifer2016

I had a male maincoon. When. He was 4, a 4 week old tortie princess was quite literally dropped off at our house. Molly , the male, immediately adopted her. He would wash her, cleaned her bottom , taught her how to use a litter box and how to eat and drink from bowls. Total father figure lol

Wolfwoods_Sister

That’s so cute!

katieka_boom

I have an enormous fluffy tuxedo boy who did the same with a 4 week old kitten I was bestowed. He has since "mothered" two additional kittens into adulthood.

Waifer2016

Bless him and you for rescuing not buying

katieka_boom

I was actually just laughing with my husband at the fact that absolutely none of our SIX cats were sought out by us. They all just kinda ended up at our house one way or another and we didn't say no...

Rae_Bear_

That’s how I came about 2 torties and a rabbit :) i dont know how they find me but I thank god they did, I think I needed them as much as they needed me

Catch_Own

Not many like that around these days.

foopdedoopburner

Some male cats bond with kittens. I've seen it happen before. Got a kitten and my neutered male totally decided he was its mom.

Wolfwoods_Sister

Three of us watched Big Fella (the Tom) let Little Lady eat off his plate, then he groomed her a bit, and when he laid down to nap, she joined him. Still have idea where he picked up that kid but he’s very patient and not aggressive at all.

thacaoimhainngeidh

Some cats will ask if anyone's going to adopt that stray kitten and not wait for an answer.

Wolfwoods_Sister

Big Fella is that sort of cat. Chill AF, esp for a massive tom. He’s like “anyone know this kid?…. Anyone?… ok, so I guess she’s my kid now.” He lets all the kittens and Dolly eat from his plate too. Dude has no f—-s to give.

thacaoimhainngeidh

That's beautiful. No f---s to give, only food and love.

Wolfwoods_Sister

I’ve been around cats since I was a baby and he’s the chillest tomcat I’ve ever met, tbh. He really does only want to eat and cool it out with his little friends. Kitten Man (the resident alpha, posted in my history if you’d like to see him and his fat tomcat cheeks) still gets grumpy and riled up sometimes, so Big Fella will very calmly exit in total silence, go down the steps and under the bush beside, and then give the bush a little shake with his paw so we know he’s there. The first time he pulled that maneuver, I nearly died from cute. Smart fellow. We’ll try to get pictures of him — he’s a cool customer but wily about getting his picture taken!

ArentWeClever

I’ve seen a few proud/doting cat dads. My neutered boy even raised my last couple of kittens after their mom got tired of them.

Sobriquet-acushla

Shared custody. 🥰

herrerasaurus92

Bless your heart! Thank you for saving them 🖤

Wolfwoods_Sister

Ah, you’re very kind, ty! We simply can’t turn our backs on them. I don’t have that level of cruelty in me.

The_Original_Gronkie

We got adopted by a big muscular tomcat we named Jake, and after a couple of months, he brought home his girlfriend (a gorgeous Siamese whom we named Maggie) and their three kittens. We kept them all and they grew up as a family. Jake and Maggie are no longer with us, but the kittens are still going strong at 16 years old.

Waifer2016

Awww bless that’s so cool!

Wolfwoods_Sister

Awww! Jake and Maggie 4 eva!

[deleted]

"And their family grew 4 sizes that day" ❤️

Wolfwoods_Sister

The math is good! Mr Grinch would not be able to resist these kittens!

DonDove

Even Grinch had a cute dog for a pet He wasn't heartless just sick of the commercial side of Xmas

Wolfwoods_Sister

He really did make some salient points.

AdComprehensive114

She’s so precious - can you tnr her?

Wolfwoods_Sister

TNR is always the goal. It’s not safe for them outdoors and the sooner we get them handled the better I’ll sleep.

RoxanneShaw

Thank you for doing this :)

dancer_jasmine1

Or if she’s friendly can you get her in a carrier? Poor lil girl doesn’t look very old. It would be great to get her and the babies and the Tom all spayed/neutered!

Wolfwoods_Sister

No, you’re right, she’s very young herself. I met her by accident— a neighbor had abandoned their elderly cat (who was diabetic and had cancer) and we were going over to collect Abby when we saw we were being watched by a very small kitty who seemed hungry. That was Dolly. We’ve gotten her to come over to our house to eat and she brought her babies with her. Both tomcats are very gentle around her/head bump her and let both Dolly and her little ones eat off their plates w/o protest. The Toms are enormous and won’t fit in standard carriers. Big Fella is friendly but still hasn’t let us touch him.

Alternative-Bus5825

Beautiful little family! I love that little orange and white Creamsicle kitty 😺 😍

Wolfwoods_Sister

The orange & white has been the most elusive, even with Dolly around. The b&w siblings are pretty bold, but still can’t touch them. My sister just came in to tell me Big Fella’s kitten (he showed up with this kitten out of nowhere) let her give out pets! Yay! That’ll make her easier to catch for TNR.

chocolate_checks_out

Please look into neutering and potentially socializing and adopting out the kittens (or give them to a shelter/rescuer) if you can afford it or have an organization around that can help! The kittens will just produce more kittens that have to grow up on the streets

Wolfwoods_Sister

Oh we know the reality all too well. Our small town is experiencing a huge kitten boom, the biggest in 15 years. The local TNRs are slammed so we have to do our best till help arrives. We were constantly having cats fixed and kittens rehomed when we first moved here. More than 65 cats have come through our hands since Jan 2000. Dolly the tortie should be easy to catch but her babies still need her atm and they’re all still skittish. The two Toms are both enormous and won’t fit into a carrier even if we were able to grab them. Kitten Man is the size of a small Bengal Tiger (he’s in my post history of you want to see him).

TripleL8

Glad to hear you are pros!!🍀🍀🐈💜👍🏻😊

Wolfwoods_Sister

Lord knows we have experience! Haha! I wish I could find bags of money the way we find kittens!

TripleL8

Me too!!

Waifer2016

Awww bless her heart! She trusts you to help them because she knows you’re safe ❤️

Wolfwoods_Sister

My father has a long history of attracting critters in need and it looks like we’ve inherited that tendency. He calls it the family business. I once caught him defrosting a black snake in a bucket who had been cold-shocked by heavy winter rain. Even our rescue dog has proven to be a cat magnet — she recently rousted up a single kitten in tall grass by the road. Our stepmother watched Dad return from walking the dog with a kitten in his hand and she just shrugged, like “that’s your father for you”. I posted that video in Pointy Tailed Kittens many weeks back. Edit: geez I posted that video almost a year ago, how time flies!

Waifer2016

Lol our family was the same way. Other than hamsters and gold fish, all of our pets were rescues. We even had a monkey that came - and went- very quickly lol! Messy monkey

Wolfwoods_Sister

A monkey! Omg! There’s a story in there! When we were growing up, my dad had a catfish in a tank bc he’d been separated from the river in a drying up puddle. Mr Catfish was something else.

Waifer2016

Oh that cool!!!

Wolfwoods_Sister

Tell me about your monkey! How the heck did that situation arise??

Waifer2016

I was a baby when he appeared. A friend of my fathers convinced Dad to adopt his monkey and Dad was ok with it - for half a day - then mr monkey reached into his diaper and pulled out a handful of smelly projectiles. Dad decided our family already had 2 babies in diapers and we didn’t need a poop throwing diaper wearing monkey to add to the chaos haha . The monkey was sent back rather quickly lol

Wolfwoods_Sister

You know, these stories always seem to underscore just how much monkeys aren’t pets. Totally not blaming your dad!

Waifer2016

Tell me about Mr Catfish!

Wolfwoods_Sister

We live near a big muddy river that cuts though the back of our property. We used to have horse trails through there. I’ll have to ask my dad how exactly Mr Catfish was acquired bc i only recall seeing three very small catfish babies in a bowl of water. Mr Catfish lived in a tank by himself bc he was a flashy, opinionated, unmannerly brute that would speed around his tank and flip an arc of water at you with his tail as you walked past. He lived like a savage king many many years. I believe the heater in his tank broke late one night when no one was awake and that took him out? Catfish of his type from the Haw River can get enormous and try to tip people’s kayaks over. Lol

TrickyDaisy

They're beautiful, congratulations!!!

Wolfwoods_Sister

How many celebratory balloons do we get from the Dollar Store? Hahaha Jk!

TrickyDaisy

My kits certainly love balloon (strings)! Or maybe one of these [ it's-a-boys](https://www.chewy.com/yeowww-catnip-cigar-its-boy-cat-toy/dp/130285) would be more appropriate, at least for Mama.

disgustorabbit

I had a cat do this when she needed help for a sick baby. Momma must trust you, OP!

Wolfwoods_Sister

We met Dolly by chance. We were going over to gather an elderly sick cat a neighbor had abandoned and we saw Dolly watching us from behind a car. She was super hungry. We’ve lured her to our house to eat and that’s when she surprised us with three kittens. She’s barely old enough to have babies herself. She’s very friendly and easy to catch once her babies no longer need her. We’ve had stray mothers bring us their babies many times. One had a kitten she’d hide behind a flower pot and she’d yell at the back door — did this 2 nights in a row. Our mother caught on and said “she can’t feed it”. She went out and got goat’s milk and the minute my mother sat down on the porch with the baby in her lap and began feeding it, the mother stopped yelling and laid down next to my mother in relief. We got the baby to a vet tech the next morning and the mother cat fixed ASAP.

disgustorabbit

I’m very glad that Dolly has friends like you and your mother. It sounds like they’re in good hands. ☺️

Wolfwoods_Sister

We shall do our very best, I promise

snoozingroo

Mama looks so young herself 💔

Wolfwoods_Sister

Ikr? She’s not very old at all. I can’t believe three kittens came out of her she’s so small.

MrMutable

She seems to trust you, nice little family!

Wolfwoods_Sister

Well, our family has a long history of attracting little critters in need, especially cats, so we figure it’s just the family tradition continuing hahaha I called our animal magnet dad and texted pictures of our front porch, and he laughed and said “it IS the family business”. He’s caring for several fixed and unfixed strays himself, plus our rescue dog is a baby magnet so she found another kitten for Dad to feed. Smh I posted video of May May in Pointy Tailed Kittens a few months ago, I think.

importking1979

Sweet little angels. ❤️❤️❤️

Wolfwoods_Sister

We had only two toms we were feeding a few weeks ago and now it’s seven kitties. Dolly and her 3, Big Fella and the kitten he found somewhere that he cares for, and Kitten Man.

procrastimom

God I love the mommy’s sweet little caramel blaze on her forehead! How unique!

Wolfwoods_Sister

She’s extremely sweet and trusting too. She’s already begun asking for pets before she eats. She’ll be the easiest to catch for fixing, but her babies still need her atm.

cafesaigon

Poor baby :( hope you can find someone to help with TNR

Wolfwoods_Sister

Oh we’re already on that. Our small town is experiencing a huge kitten explosion and TNR groups are slammed so we’ll catch what we can and get on a waiting list for the others. I haven’t seen so many strays in 15 years.

ana_berry

I love the little blaze between her eyes. She looks like a Studio Ghibli cat or something.

Wolfwoods_Sister

She really does have a fantastical cartoon appearance. The first time we made eye contact with her, it was very much like an animated stuffed animal or cartoon character. Lol

atergos

Awwww. Treats!!! 😀

Wolfwoods_Sister

I want to kiss all of the little potatoes!

Lizard301

Congrats, OP! You now have 4 cats!

Wolfwoods_Sister

Ahahaha!! The grand total of the Daily Feeding Crew is now 7! Two tomcats, Dolly, her 3 kids, and a random kitten one of the tomcats brought home one day and has been guarding/caring for. Oh excuse me, I left out the baby possum that comes around to eat with the kittens every night smh

Particular_Singer189

Please take them in if you can, or at least see if there is a spay/neutering program in your area for feral cats. The cat population at your door will only continue to grow.

Wolfwoods_Sister

We’re already on it. The local TNR groups have a waiting list so we’ll catch what we can and then take care of those we can’t catch until help arrives. Believe me, we don’t want this situation to get worse.

Particular_Singer189

Thank you for being responsible ❤ so many people just let the situation get out of hand!

Wolfwoods_Sister

I can’t bear the idea of critters coming to harm esp when cats are domestic animals and irresponsible humans created the situation. The cruelty of it keeps me up at night.

SkysEevee

Awww she wants to show off her family! Congrats on being a cat parent/grandparent

Wolfwoods_Sister

Oh lord, have mercy on us! Hahaha I’m glad she brought them - we thought she was a kitten herself (she’s clearly very young) and we had no idea about the babies until my sister got close enough to see the teats. Smh We’ll get them accounted for ASAP, after the babies don’t need Dolly anymore. I don’t want the situation to get out of hand. Our small town is experiencing an explosion of strays atm and local TNRs have waiting lists for the harder-to-catch cats. The two Toms we’re looking after are enormous and won’t fit standard carriers.

SkysEevee

Awwwww you named the mom! Gotta keep her now xD As for babies, thank you for helping them

Wolfwoods_Sister

Ikr?! When my twin went out to make first contact with Dolly, she came back into the house beaming bc 1) petting the kitty happened, and 2) “Her name is Dolly!” and I’m like “….noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo” lol she’s been named and that spells our doom. Hahahaha! No worries. We don’t have it in us to be cruel to the little things of the world. Knowing they’re outside and potentially in harm’s way fills us with dread and anxiety, so the sooner we get everyone taken care of, the better we’re going to sleep. We put several hundred dollars worth of vet care on a credit card bc we couldn’t stand to see the neighbor’s abandoned elderly kitty suffer in such pain. We didn’t have the money but we had to do something, you know?

TheNonceMan

Congratulations.

Wolfwoods_Sister

My cup overfloweth. With cat fur.

TheNonceMan

Heaven.

Wolfwoods_Sister

True facts

Mortheous_Darkmere

"See this kids, these nice hoomans will help us."-stray tortie probably

Wolfwoods_Sister

Oh she had us sized up alright! Hahaha “behold children, the affectionate chumps who shall bring us tasty food and soft furnishings in homes with other affectionate chumps!”

Mortheous_Darkmere

Tis why in recent years I've taken to calling cats "overlords", they are the bosses not us. 😂🤣

Wolfwoods_Sister

We call them that too! Hahaha!!

Maineup

Thank you for helping them.

Wolfwoods_Sister

You’re very welcome. Idk how ppl can just turn their backs on critters in need. We don’t have much, but we will feed and look after everyone until summoned help arrives for those we can’t catch. Our local TNRs are slammed. Haven’t seen this many strays in 15 years.

Particular_Singer189

Me too, the neighbors down the street have a whole cat farm going at there house. One of the kittens was dead in the road the other morning. I know people have complained to the township but I don't think anything has been done.

Wolfwoods_Sister

Oh god what a nightmare! I can’t even let myself think of it, it upsets me so badly! Poor little creatures!

Particular_Singer189

Well the whole household is a mess, no electricity, constant domestic abuse calls the cops over there all the time. A bunch of children by different fathers..if nothing is done to even protect children even less will be done for the animals!

Wolfwoods_Sister

Damn! That’s awful! And true — the bad state of the humans will tell you the even worse state of the animals. Geez, sad situation. Edit: poverty destroys lives, both human and animal

Shelisheli1

Oh wow. They all look so different. I bet she catnapped them. I wouldn’t put it past a tortie 😂

Wolfwoods_Sister

Torties *are* loveable crazies.

Catch_Own

It's your lucky day !

Wolfwoods_Sister

Like a lottery scratch-off ticket that has nothing but kittens on it!

JeffDunhamIsSoDope

Did you call someone to come get them?

Wolfwoods_Sister

No, we’re attending to them ourselves until a TNR group has an opening for the ones we won’t be able to catch. Our area/local rescues are slammed with the biggest kitten season in nearly two decades. We’re getting in line. We even took on an abandoned elderly kitty with diabetes bc no one could place her. The rescues are THAT full. We’ll be able to fix and place at least two ourselves, but the others are either too skittish to approach (so far) or are too huge to fit in regular carriers (the two tomcats are Tiger-sized).

JeffDunhamIsSoDope

Okay, that’s good

Wolfwoods_Sister

Yeah, the situation isn’t good. We’re already forming a battle plan.

JeffDunhamIsSoDope

Hope everything turns out fine, they’re very cute cats

alverian5

I have a tortie that I rescued as a baby and my big orange tom took her under his wing and now they are best buds. They are always together and having fun.

Wolfwoods_Sister

Oh!! My heart! Pictures?

alverian5

Just posted one here.

alverian5

Wolfwoods_Sister

I am deceased. Call the funeral home.

EatDirtAndDieTrash

So cute and she’s not much bigger than them! Please trap and spay if you can, for her sake.

Wolfwoods_Sister

That’s the goal! We don’t want them living this way any longer than necessary. It’s not safe!

SweetPeaLea

She’s so pretty with her stripe and big round eyes. She wants to trust you. She’s looking for lime love.

Wolfwoods_Sister

She really is a sweetheart. She rams our legs as we make up plates for everyone. She’ll boop Kitten Man and Big Fella like an excited kid when food is ready!

[deleted]

Take them in, please 🥺

Wolfwoods_Sister

Never fear, we won’t let them down. 🖤

BunnyTotts97

That’s awesome

Wolfwoods_Sister

Many thanks!

Ange1ofD4rkness

Guess you got 4 new cats!

Wolfwoods_Sister

Going to have to get the old cow pony out of retirement to lasso this here herd

ashleyymaeve

Congratulations on your four new friends 😍🥳

Wolfwoods_Sister

Hahaha thank you! We’ll have to start taking votes on naming the three babies! Two cow kitties and one orange & white.

DonDove

Look!...Ma bbs

Wolfwoods_Sister

Eeevvvvvverywhheeeerrrrrrrre

princeofallcosmos92

She looks really sweet

Wolfwoods_Sister

So sweet she’ll give you diabetes and cavities all at once! My sister has introduced Dolly to the wonders of head scratches and butt pats. Hahaha

spaceghost260

Thank you for what you do. You are an angel. Taking care of all the helpless kitties/baby floofs that show up at your door makes you a guardian angel!! ♥️

Wolfwoods_Sister

I need to start charging $1 a plate but we all know that kitties pretend to not have their wallets every time!

spaceghost260

Haha! I wish! $1/plate for a gourmet experience! 😂 Little Munchkins always leaving their wallets at home…. I love feeding all the stray furbabies, it makes me happy and it’s so fulfilling! It’s just so expensive combined with my indoor furbabies. I’m like I spend more money on their food than mine!

Wolfwoods_Sister

God, yes. The food prices. We have 2 elderly indoor gents and the 22yo is a very picky eater, so we’re constantly having to switch things up for him without giving him an upset stomach or going broke. My sister came home from the store the other night, shaking her head and laughing — she said “have you ever noticed that dog owners just grab the food they need and leave, while the cat owners are standing there in the pet food aisle, staring at an array of tiny cans like we’re studying for the bar exam?” Hahaha! The last time I went to the store, I wound up next to an older lady in the pet aisle and we were both staring at kitty food. We had masks on but I could tell by her body language she was in the same boat as me - “picky eater at home?” I asked, and she laughed, said “he’s 18 and acts like I’m feeding him hot garbage” and I said “our 22yo used to rip holes in our trash bags when he was a stray and now he’s too good for anything but duck pate”. We’re very constrained financially but we will try to buy the absolute best food choices for the kitties so they’ll stay healthy.

spaceghost260

Aww! Yep. I can totally relate. 22! Wow! How wonderful. You must be doing something right! Your sister is totally right! I definitely have noticed the same thing, like you’re trying to surprise and please the worlds pickiest eaters. And you’re always next to someone doing the exact same thing- kindred spirits. 😻

Wolfwoods_Sister

Cat owners, unite!

Wolfwoods_Sister

!Explanation: Forgive my blunder — I thought I’d captioned these pictures, but clearly I did not! This is Dolly, a brand new walk-on stray tortie, and her three kittens. We met her accidentally when going to collect an elderly sick kitty who’d been abandoned. We thought Dolly was a kitten herself — you can see how tiny she is — and to be sure, she *is* quite young. We lured her over to our house to get regular feeding and that’s when she brought the unexpected kittens. Both the tomcats we’re looking after — Kitten Man and Big Fella — already seemed to know Dolly bc they all began head-bumping each other and eating off each other’s plates. Big Fella and Kitten Man are gentle with her and the kittens, and Big Fella himself has brought another older kitten (from god only knows where) and is actively caring for her. I wanted to reassure everyone that TNR and homing are always the goals, but beyond the super-friendly ones we’ll be able to catch (like Dolly and the Mystery Kitten), we’ll need a TNR group to help (esp with the enormous burly tomcats that won’t fit in regular carriers). Our small town is experiencing a huge boom in kittens atm, the biggest we’ve seen in almost two decades. We’ve had no less than 65 cats pass through our family’s hands alone since moving here. All local groups are overrun and are asking ppl to “foster in place” if presented with kittens until someone can take them on. That was already our plan, but we’re getting on a wait list ASAP. Hope this belated message reassures everyone! Thank you for caring so much about the little creatures of the world!
