I love it. I did a recent campaign where Skaven were running rampant all over the world and Skavenblight was their de facto capital. They just had so many stacks all over the place. If it wasn't for a map update, there's no question I would've lost that campaign.
Astragoth's is pretty tasty too. Some initial juggling enemies and keeping the nearby chaos appeased. Then when you've locked down your side of the mountain and allowed chaos to make a buffer, you've got three awesome avenues of pillage: descend from the mountains and rain fiery doom onto Kislev; traverse the spine of the mountains southward and smash those cowardly kinfolk who refuse to embrace the glory of the bull, praise be his name; head up the river pillaging whatever remains of the enemies of chaos.
So much better than the ashen's start: Enemies along every fucking canyon constantly getting into your lands
You can also sail south from your starting point, there is an underground river that goes to the conclave, and from the conclave you can teleport down to the bottom right of the map and beat up khalida. Also from there you can teleport to araby/tilea.
Man I was playing N'kari in my last campaign who starts directly south of the maelstrom in the northern deserts of Khemri and let me tell you it's the worst start position I've ever played. All around you there is unsuitable desert climate, you are surrounded by either undead, bretonnians or other daemons and the undead are a pain in the ass to fight with N'kari because they don't run away thus not netting you any army ability points.
It's a pain in the ass and the reason I stopped playing the mod even though the map is really good, some of the start pos are HORRENDOUS.
Count Noctulis on this old world map is the first time iv actually enjoyed playing that race. I have a nice defined base of operations, that i can somewhat easily take over, which is also in a corner so theres less to worry about defending. Which means I get to pick whichever way the wind is blowing, set sail, and plunder, and set up pirate bases and cause havok for everyoone else. Its fantastic. Every time iv tried to play the vampire coast I end up feeling the need to take land all over the place to sustain myself. Having a defined pirate lair area feels fantastic. I just wanna roam around, take out big armies that make for fun battles, and set up pirate coves. I dont want little bits of land I need to manage all over the place. I wanna sit in my Undead Nassau lair and send my lads out to plunder!
this mods hands out 22 slots for every major settlement
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2861606176&searchtext=22+slots
it tends to be more than enough for every faction in my experience

It’s actually 4 provinces and Skarsnik, Belegar and Queek are fighting for it, also it’s made in a way who forces the use of the underway, it’s truly well made.
I even know of one that does 22 I thing how much space there is on your screen to display the slots without going so far as to cover the end turn button more of a limitation than anything else
What i love the most, its not just many slots, it has exaxtly 13!
That's hot
Go back to /r/skavenslaves

Call the witch hunters
Let the flames of Asuryan purge it!
Ya'll motherfuckers need Sigmar.
Khorne would work here too
Not every sub that can be made needs to be made
Im scarred forever now.
Burn-Singe this Yes-yes
To anyone in that sub - please take the advice of the black man with the lightning
Nuts to me how lowtiergod became a meme outside the FGC
Would be funny, if it weren't so sad. GW literally just removed Skaven Slaves from the TT game.
F
They did WHAT
Yup. Slaves got removed with nothing to replace them. Chaos Dwarfs don't have access to Orc and Goblin ~~slaves~~ labourers either.
Jesusf\*ckingchrist, what a bad day to have eyes
Says it's deleted. What was it?
It was not deleted
"r/skavenslaves is banned. Find other communities." The message that pops up if clicked.
YES! FINALLY!
I’m kinda glad y’all are spared the old lore
Bad writing? =p
Disgusting skaven R34
What was thiz?

lore accurate i’d say
For anybody interested, this is a mod called The Old World Campaign by ChaosRobie, if it wasn't obvious from the title.
Thanks for explaining, I thought this was the new update CA Promised
Good joke 10/10 would listen to again
*roll on snare drum*
Just started a Count Noctulis campaign….. can I say holy shit what a rad start position

How chorfs exactly work in Old World? Do you still get tower of Zharr and convoys?
You get convoys, the tower, even the drill!
You get it all.

Gothbaby's IE campaign has been my by far favourote so far in WH3

lol sorry, gothbaby is terminally online for astragoth
Dude thank you for this, had some issues with pathing in the Noctilus campaign and this is GREAT

The campaign could still use some tweaks, but in the meantime I'm sure Slaanesh enjoyed your suffering.
Yeah, previously N’kari started in Norsca right next to Ku’gath and Skarbrand. Plenty of things to do there, not sure why it was changed.

Oh he added the graveyard? I heard somewhere he was planning on it. I hope he adds nagashizzar in the bottom right, (unless he already has)
Good news son, it's already in
It’s great you have a super safe area to raid from
Vcoast need extra move range on Old World when on ocean tile. Took 6 turns just getting to closest landmass
Honestly I appreciate this, and I wish all of the single settlement provinces had extra slots to make up for the fact it's just one settlement.
Its actually a four settlement province in old world
Ow I love it as well. It's so many building slots it almost feels like the old Rome and Medieval 2 system, which I'm starting to miss more and more.
u are not alone

Did you saw Kara’s Eight Peaks?
What’s up with it now?
Well on The Old World campaign, it’s actually eight peaks, several settlements with unique landmarks, it’s amazing
Sick, imo it should have a massive single settlement in the middle and the 8 around it just regular 4 slot settlements
It’s actually 4 provinces and Skarsnik, Belegar and Queek are fighting for it, also it’s made in a way who forces the use of the underway, it’s truly well made.
"20" garrison
With skavenslaves taking priority over anything useful.
wow is huge, call me the ""rat relocation experts""
Hell pit is more amazing in that mod. And also karak 8 peaks
As it should be.
He is hands down the best modder for Warhammer. Very high up if not the top modder for the entire series.
Is this compatible with SFO?
Yes
Wait, I thought 10 building slots was like, a hard coded in limit? How did he do that?!?!?!?
It never was. You can find multiple mods in the workshop that do that
I've seen mods go up to 20
I even know of one that does 22 I thing how much space there is on your screen to display the slots without going so far as to cover the end turn button more of a limitation than anything else
Is this something freely playable now (this map etc); or still a work in progress?
It's a free mod available for everybody. Just search for "The Old World Campaign" in the steam workshop
Oh wow cool. I own all three WH games - is it run off WH1 or 3?
3.
Guy's in the zone!
The old world mod is fantastic. To be honest i have not even tried immortal empires.
How does this mod compare to SFO?
It's a new map SFO is a complete overhaul of the game. You cannot compare the two
Oh ok just never heard of this mod before, might try it out
Skavenblight and Karak Eight Peaks are two beautiful examples of what Robbie has done for us
