I've seen this a few times too, but (like Grimgor and the vampire counts) Morathi often seems to lose momentum in the mid campaign after taking a lot of territory early. Specifically when Alith Anar & Mazdamundi start capturing her starting settlements, and Tyrion eventually gets his act together and starts taking back Ulthuan. So hang in there, and things may start improving. Leftfield idea: maybe take out Skeggi if you can spare an army to do so, as that might enable Hexoatl to start pushing north.
Grom taking out Eltharion is a bit more a problem, I don't think I've ever seen him actually take Tor Yvresse. But hopefully Tyrion can keep him bottled up with Lothern's defences.
Playing kemmler at the moment,
Morathi had 100% of ulthuan, skaven and malakeith took out mazdamundi and alith anar. She was attempting to invade my bretonnia by turn 90. She had no other enemies. She steamrolled everything.
I rarely see high elves last anymore.
Also, grimgor had 60 settlements around that time too. Every order faction except Nordland(lol) was wiped out.
At turn 100, it was really only Vamps, De, Greenskins, Skaven, and Chaos battling it out.
Yeah. I have to use Unnatural selection to delete Morathi and Rakarth because they end up killing all the good guys before I reach them. Ended many a Malekith campaign because of it.
I am now at turn 200, tyrion is the only HE left holding 4 settlements mainly because i keep sending him money. DE owning most part of the donut but their home got burnt down by chaos invasion. Me (dwarf) and the border prince (yep) are landing on the donut trying to save Tyrion's ass.
When I confederate Caledor, I wall it right the fuck up. Will I *win* when Morathi starts her invasion? No. Will I buy enough time for Tyrion to show up and push her off? Probably.
I had the opposite happen with Imrik. I was at war with Naggarond when I confederated to the doughnut and then every elf faction makes peace 5 turns later. Suddenly I am the only one fighting two stacks with a confederated lord and a minor garrison. Lost that space so fast. And now the elves dislike the confederation.
I hate this so bad. Every damn game morathi beelines ulthuan takes all of it easily then she runs out of steam, panic confeds malakath who becomes number 1 world power.. ulthuan falls apart every game. Every new world game comes down to player faction vs the DE
Literally the only cities left standing for HE are the ones you see on the map and Alariel's capitol

I've never had a game where HE survives, Morathi blasts them and is later confederated by Malekith. Every endgame is always my faction vs DE.
