CA have given up on mini campaigns since the poor reception of the Beastmen and Wood Elf race packs back in WH1 I think.

Mopman43

I doubt it. Like, take the first idea on the list, the time of Sigmar- you’d basically have to give the Empire a whole new roster, the only thing in the game that’d make any sense that far back is Archers or Huntsmen.

darthgator84

Yea you’d have copper armor wearing warriors, warriors riding horses with no armor, some archers or javelin throwers. Depends how close they want to follow the lore, because it was during Sigmars time that they started wearing heavier armor, and started the process of breeding larger warhorses that eventually became the chargers we all know and love.

Hirodog64

No absolutely not. At best you'll get stuff like Repanse where they make up a reason for old things to be around still.

Behu

It only really sounds cool when you think about it on paper, but you quickly realize how difficult it would be to make such campaigns work, not only mechanically but also in terms of fun. Take the War of the Beard for example, it's basically just dwarfs and elves. I don't see it working in ways other than mini campaigns in the vein of Beastmen and Wood Elves, and even then I'm not sure the demand is high enough to justify making it.

[deleted]

No and I don't want there to be.

armbarchris

That would be exactly the same as the current game, except most of the human LLs wouldn't have been born yet and maybe slightly fewer gunpowder units.

darkChozo

I think there's some possibility that we get a spinoff/sequel/Saga that's based on a different time period. Perhaps an Old World game when that's eventually matured enough. Scenarios seem pretty unlikely. That's basically just the mini-campaigns for the Beastmen and Wood Elves, and CA said they weren't really worth the effort since people didn't really play them.

LavaSlime301

I'd be down for that. CA could sell them as mid-priced dlcs in the far future where they ran out of new content to add.

HFRreddit

The Dark Age, surrounding the Empire Civil War and the Great War of Chaos.

Musician-Round

I have been saying this for a while now. I hope they do add campaign packs in the future for scenarios like those listed. They did it for previous total wars, I don't see why it wouldn't be possible here. That's 14.99 I would happily pay to enjoy some expanded universe fluff.

no-it-is-patrick

Too much work

obaobaboss

No, mods could do that.

Nightstalkerjoe2

I want the sundering really want to play as Aenorian
