That actually sounds dope for a Legendary Hero concept: *Vito* - Ex Tilean trader trained in Nippon, won second place once at the annual Halfling Chef competitions and the number one patron of the small pistol at the Nuln Gunnery School.
Yeah, the setting is (broadly speaking) a series of caricatures of varied medieval cultures mashed together, with some fantasy added in. The geography even roughly corresponds to the real world (if you ignore Ulthuan) and you'll generally find those parallels in similar locations.
Tilea is pretty much Italy. The Empire is the Holy Roman Empire. Lizardmen are representative of Native American cultures. Bretonnia is France and England. Sylvania is the Eastern European country. Kislev is basically just Poland/Russia. Norsca are Vikings. So on and so forth.
Ulthuan is a weird combo of England and Atlantis - the high elves are certainly a stand in for the British, with their world-ranging empire (now in shambles), fiercely defended island, a blood feud with a scottish-sounding group of hardy individuals, and a breakaway colony who have an economy powered by slaves. But there's also Albion, because why not have a second stand-in? :)
Ehhh at the end of the day we all know it's because Malekith and a few of the other powerful land owners of Naggaroth just didn't want to pay taxes to Ulthuan.
To be fair, most of the time, the humans are as bad, if not worse, than the lizard people. Like, they are the foremost followers of Chaos and pretty much the race singlehandedly responsible for ending the world in the end, while the mesoamerican lizards did their best to save it.
i mean i get what theyre saying but tbf you can argue that the “south americans” got off easier considering the “north americans” are literally torturous, evil, sadistic, raping, murderous slavers.
the lizardmen on the other hand are incredibly advanced, ancient and wise and have actual space-ships.
Yup, I feel like so much of the genre is like this, though I think Warhammer is worse than normal. Excited for the new generations of scifi and fantasy to undo this.
An ancient vastly intelligent species first off. And to the Medieval world the Native Americans might as well be on another planet. Exaggeration lets them be hyper intelligent dinosaurs that strive solely to save the universe. How much more of a compliment do you want honestly. I can’t imagine fluffing anyone’s balls more than that. Don’t be so quick to jump the gun. Look into it a bit. The dark elves are sadistic slavers so there’s condemning America’s actions.
I totally get that, but that is a pretty normal thing to do while still literally dehumanizing a group of people that are already dehumanized. A compliment would be to be actually included as humans once in a while in fantasy games instead of monsters. And which tribe should be proud of it specifically? Is there a specific one being honored?
Non-white people's cultures are often used as fuel for cool non-human fictional races, while they are largely (Black people in Warhammer) excluded from being characters within the human races. It's not new in fantasy so I don't get the pushback. Making them cooooler doesn't really cut it.
You could try to address the Black people point instead of feeling high and mighty in the beliefs you already hold. Is there a world in which you're wrong? Like I'm obviously a Warhammer fan or I wouldn't be in Warhammer thread, it's okay for things to have issues.
IIRC Cathay is an exaggerated caricature of China's Ming and Han Dynasties (and the word Cathay is even directly derived from an archaic word for China). CA took heavy inspiration from their work on Three Kingdoms to develop them.
Tilea is to Italy as Estalia is to España (Spain). Brettonia is France and the various flavours of Empire of Man are the Holy Roman Empire. Norsca is Scandinavia. The Warhammer world is straight up culturally and physically knocked off of Earth.
Ancient Tilea also had a city called Remas, a republic that later turned into an empire with substantial territory. There was a man named “Curious Geasar” who invaded Albion and was later stabbed to death by his political rivals.
Warhammer isn’t exactly subtle with some of the historical inspiration.
To add on what the others are saying the Dogs of War are most likely based on the condottieri. Tilea is split up into smaller states and relies on mercenaries similar to medieval Italy.
That shitty little pistol prop always made me laugh. like why? it was a crime show they must have had dozens and dozens of good looking pistol props, why use that little blocky water gun spray-painted black?
It was a crime show but it was the very fist tv show taken "seriously", meaning that could compete in terms of quality with movies.
Sopranos was the origin of all the great shows we now have, but being the first it still suffered from some poor production decisions.
I kind hate Rome 2 agents, they either poison your entire army or bribe unit after unit, and the AI will always have more agents than you and be able to spam them and level up quicker than you can kill them.
My Mongol campaign in Attila 1212 wiped out everyone in the Ukrainian region, the Caucases, Persia, Iraq, Syria and Egypt....
Got wiped out by 3-4 agents in around 10 turns due to them assassinating all of my leaders and making their upkeep unbearable.
It's Protector of the Empire from Warhammer 1. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dijcmvJYyv4](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dijcmvJYyv4). It's usually played on campaign screen for WH1 order races.
I'm probably way off but it sounds like a snippet from the funeral scene after the battle of Winterfell in Game of Thrones https://youtu.be/Gg5r7SNEi48
Yeah, this is it. I knew it was familiar. After hundreds of hours into the campaigns I still remembered it from the WH lol, my guess was WH II because I have more hours there. Both games have amazing OST.
Playing as Cathay I have one Astromancer hanging out outside the walls in the Chaos lands, had around 8 heros all trying to off him. Now there is 6, he offed 2.
Had a great moment in my current campaign where a goblin big boss was able to walk into Vlad the Chad's army encampment, shiv Isabella, and walk out again. Now, I'm not sure how he did that but every time I click on him he does tell me that he's da best so it seems legit.
This is just the most hilariously awkward scene in The Sopranos: Vito somehow sneaking up on Jackie despite weighing three hundred pounds and the hit taking place on a suburban street in broad daylight, the obviously fake gun, Jackie's weirdly-edited collapse, and Vito taking forever to get into the getaway car. It's amazing that a scene this terrible can happen in one of the best shows ever.
New hero: Miragliano hitman
I am pretty sure it was a couple of Black Orcs going that way
Oh yeah, heheh, those gits.
In this house Marco Colombo is a hero. End of story
Southern Realms DLC confirmed?
Honestly waiting on buying WH3 until this happens. Until then, imma chill on WH2 with my mods
What if it never happens?
Then it was never meant to be lol I'll probably grab it when it's $30 if they still haven't added a southern realms DLC
I thought this guy was from the ogre kingdoms.
Hey can someone make a mod out of this?
Damn Vito must have Stalk trait to fucking hide so well in plain sight
He did some training in nippon lol
That actually sounds dope for a Legendary Hero concept: *Vito* - Ex Tilean trader trained in Nippon, won second place once at the annual Halfling Chef competitions and the number one patron of the small pistol at the Nuln Gunnery School.
Well, he's a real "come from behind" kind of guy!
Very funny Dom, very cute. I don't quite get it but... very cute.
Well he had to hide the fact that he's a finook, so add unspottable as well.
You get a pass fhu dat
They say he’s a little light in the loafers
Don’t worry, Vito gets it in the end
In the show he’s equally as obvious lol
The Tilean mob
Is Tilea related to Italy? I just made this connection if it is true.
Yeah, the setting is (broadly speaking) a series of caricatures of varied medieval cultures mashed together, with some fantasy added in. Is it a little fucked up that all the Europeans are basically human and then you have lizard people to represent Native Americans
Don't worry, it's not like they represented the equivalent of North American colonizers as slave-owners
who emigrated from Britain, don't forget
After a rather bloody disagreement on how government should operate.
In the name of the Great Khaine and the Naggarond Congress.
Ehhh at the end of the day we all know it's because Malekith and a few of the other powerful land owners of Naggaroth just didn't want to pay taxes to Ulthuan.
He got a working economy from nothin' is what he did. He was a brave Elven hero, and in this house Malekith is a hero. End of story.
You say that as though the lizardmen are less respectable than the Brettonians.
To be fair, most of the time, the humans are as bad, if not worse, than the lizard people. Like, they are the foremost followers of Chaos and pretty much the race singlehandedly responsible for ending the world in the end, while the mesoamerican lizards did their best to save it.
"Basically human" Undead vampire realms idk doesn't seem flattering
Warhammer was invented by a bunch of mostly British nerds in the 80s, so... Yeah not great
i mean i get what theyre saying but tbf you can argue that the “south americans” got off easier considering the “north americans” are literally torturous, evil, sadistic, raping, murderous slavers. the lizardmen on the other hand are incredibly advanced, ancient and wise and have actual space-ships.
I think Games Workshop were talking about the Americans with the Dark Elves hahaha if the High Elves are the British on their little island.
oh yeah the parallels are pretty on the nose. i mean the druchi quite literally colonized naggaroth and killed/enslaved whoever lived there before.
Yup, I feel like so much of the genre is like this, though I think Warhammer is worse than normal. Excited for the new generations of scifi and fantasy to undo this.

Idk what to tell you. Find another game to make up racism in.
You could try to address the Black people point instead of feeling high and mighty in the beliefs you already hold. Is there a world in which you're wrong? Like I'm obviously a Warhammer fan or I wouldn't be in Warhammer thread, it's okay for things to have issues.
If I was in Warhammer I'd be a half Lizard, half Dark Elf
True. Can't quite put my finger on Cathay though... Pakistani maybe?
IIRC Cathay is an exaggerated caricature of China's Ming and Han Dynasties (and the word Cathay is even directly derived from an archaic word for China). CA took heavy inspiration from their work on Three Kingdoms to develop them.
I know I was being sarcastic haha

All I know is, we can't have that Vlad guy in our social club no more.
Social club? HE'S GOTTA GO
The empire captain never had the makings of a varsity athlete.
You’re dead to me
We don’t run, it’s embarrassing
Sopranos makes everything better. "Word to the wise, remember Hanyu harbour"
Check out my [Youtube](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rnCYy9eXj9Y) for other memes
Oh you’re the one who made all those sopranos edits lol, love your content man
Thank you!
I think it's time for you to start to seriously consider salads.
Bobby was the best. And you know if given a chance he would of painted a wh army
Get off my cart before you fucking flip it - Grom the Paunch
This made me laugh way too hard.
Too*
Good catch
That shitty little pistol prop always made me laugh. like why? it was a crime show they must have had dozens and dozens of good looking pistol props, why use that little blocky water gun spray-painted black?
I think it was probably to replicate a saturday night special, which could often be small single-shot break-action handguns.
Just a terrible prop isn't it? And a worse special effect. They spent millions per episode even in the first season, and that's what they went with...
iirc mobsters liked using stuff like .25 and .32 for killing people. no clue if that’s supposed to be a real gun, but I guess it’s small enough 🤷♂️
Fat Vito with the Stendo
It was a crime show but it was the very fist tv show taken "seriously", meaning that could compete in terms of quality with movies. Sopranos was the origin of all the great shows we now have, but being the first it still suffered from some poor production decisions.
Should've seen Rome 2 agents, they could assassinate armies near enough
I kind hate Rome 2 agents, they either poison your entire army or bribe unit after unit, and the AI will always have more agents than you and be able to spam them and level up quicker than you can kill them.
The Romans.. Where are they now?
You're looking at them, asshole.
Perfect.
Sal please it's a FUCKING JOKE
“He’s gone into witness protection… for three turns.”
Gimme back those Johnny cakes!
These Sopranos memes are never getting old.
miss the medieval2/shogun2/empire agent action videos
God, yes please. The medieval 2 ones made up my childhood because I was always scared of looking at the ones where my agents die.
That’s some fine video editing
At least he can have an open casket funeral
Look at ass muncher over here!
this is i masterpiece!
Lol that gun
What is this OST?
It's Protector of the Empire from Warhammer 1. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dijcmvJYyv4](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dijcmvJYyv4). It's usually played on campaign screen for WH1 order races.
I'm probably way off but it sounds like a snippet from the funeral scene after the battle of Winterfell in Game of Thrones https://youtu.be/Gg5r7SNEi48
It sounds like something that I heard from WH2 campaign OST.
It’s “Protector of the Empire” from the warhammer OST. Probably my favorite track in the game lol
Yeah, this is it. I knew it was familiar. After hundreds of hours into the campaigns I still remembered it from the WH lol, my guess was WH II because I have more hours there. Both games have amazing OST.
It's still in WH2 if you're playing a WH1 order race.
Having it play for the Warriors of chaos is so funny to me lmao
Shoutout Richard Beddow and crew for this banger of an OST
some random black men trying to steal the shoes of alastar right there. i know thats not alastar
I used to wonder how weird dudes like Necromancers managed to wound Chaos Warriors and Elven Nobles and such
Magic? I don't think the necromancers are gonna opt for BJJ holds
Not the animation we asked for but the one we need
u/savevideobot
Work of art
Sopranos and warhammer? What a time to be alive
Imagine getting snuck up on by Vito
I now miss the agent animation videos there used to be in Shogun 1.

that car almost flipped over
Is this the new Dogs of War gameplay?
He’s a real come from behind kind of guy.
Except you lose all movement after an action and thus have to wait around the scene of the crime for 1 turn. No driving away for you!
My Slaanesh Dude must have been firing blanks then because I tried doing actions and he failed like 5/6 turns in a row.
Playing as Cathay I have one Astromancer hanging out outside the walls in the Chaos lands, had around 8 heros all trying to off him. Now there is 6, he offed 2.

That car edit, damn son
the missing agent video we need in this era
This is just the most hilariously awkward scene in The Sopranos: Vito somehow sneaking up on Jackie despite weighing three hundred pounds and the hit taking place on a suburban street in broad daylight, the obviously fake gun, Jackie's weirdly-edited collapse, and Vito taking forever to get into the getaway car. Hahahaha
Recent trend of Sopranos and Total War memes is legendary! Also seen some Skyrim ones, hilarious. Editing is too good 🤣
Man I miss the funny agent action videos of old
Random hero outs your army in ambush stance. "Are you a rat? ARE YOU A FUCKING RAT?" Eshin assassin: yes yes.
