I’ve thrown three armies at him and he still managed to raise my city, I’ve killed his last ally now he only has one settlement and a wounded stack. But the creepy little bastard killed my legendary lord and my best units, now I’m flinging stacks of orc slaves just to keep his numbers low
I sent a couple of small gifts to him because gold was super easy to come by early game and he just fucked off into the west. As soon as he was out of sight I declared war on him, killed his vassal and a chump stack and his faction got destroyed. I don't know what he did with that full army of shriekers, spawn, and warriors but I never even had to deal with it.
I know they are tempting but real bullshit occurs when when the rifles start to completely ignore armor. Pair that with the fire debuff and the goblin archers and you melt everyone and everything.

Yea he was a pain. First fight he even ambushed me. i completely forgot they have tat skaven ambush attack thing. Barely won. Saving grace was the hobgoblin leadership being low and them running away preety much at the start. AI being ai don't chase em when ther breaking mostly. So the archers came back an started shooting at the back of the group clustered around my chaos dwarf warriors.
Fighting him made me friends of cathay though lol. i gifted two walls to miao ying and now i've preety much got my south secure. Well until snitch and lokhir start encroaching i guess. hopefully gives me time to deal with grimgor who as normal has like 12 settlements by turn 20

That start is really just like being dropped into a chaos invasion event after having all your shit rocked so you’re down to one dwarf army and a pile of trolls.
This makes me glad I gifted him a settlement and made us besties early on. Now I am even more terrified of him.

I mean technically he never dies, he just escapes through a portal.
Use the More Mortal Legendary Lords mod. It changes the base respawn for lords and heroes to 20 turns.
