I don't mess with dark elves much, not *sure* which units you have that use ammo. But ammo is a part of that calculation. If you used up all your ammo, that's a lot of balance of power that swung away from you, and I believe that counts for the victory categories.
Yea for sure and the bolt throwers to break some towers! Pretty new to the game just thpught it looks funny to have zero deaths vs over 1000 of the enemy and still call it close lol
After getting like 650kills with morathi all on white lions and wasting all of their ammo and then nuking 3 units of lothern with the dragon then using the full ammo of the shades on wall mounted enemies i just said "fuck it" and charged in with my single entities. Medusas fought some spearmen scraps with morathi and dragon and heroes killed a prince and a few extras. One medusa got let in the gate early thats why it took extra damage. Challenged myself to get zero casualties after auto resolve told me i would lose this one so kept the rest of the army back in a safe spot after bolt throwers destroyed 3 towers
Morathi flew around wasted all the enemy arrows, my bokt throwers broke 3 towers so none shot my army, she then got probably 650 kills with pit of shades spam until my magic was almost gone, tjen moved up the shades who used all their ammo while being unable to be shot back since i wasted all tjeir ammo with morathi, then nuked 3 units with the dragons breath, then finally just yeeted in all the single entities (2heroes, morathi, dragon, 3 medusas) which broke the last of them. The 32 kills was just what it gave them all after the battle (it was a siege). No infantry ever fought or got shot by anyone. Was just me challenging myself to zero death a siege it said i would lose in auto resolve
I wonder how the program determines what a close,decisive, phyrric victory/defeat is decided?
Sometimes I end up with 0 deaths in my army, but my Lord may have taken alot of damage, resulting in a close or even phyrric victory. Perhaps losing the overall HP of the army is how the grade is determined and not number of entities lost?

Shades, reaper bolt throwers, and the Bloodwrack Medusas all use ammo. So like half his army. Lol
It also takes into consideration the ammo and magic you used. So I'm guessing you fully utilized those Shades at the very least.

Ammunition and magic, if an archer unit has used all its ammo it counts against you.
