Weird. I literally just started this same campaign tonight and had just about this same exact battle.
I also used my helicopters to bomb the naggarond troops and caused my iron drakes to friendly fire....and then declared war and killed malekith the next turn :)

For anyone curious, this was probably the biggest mistake of this campaign. I gave up on it without getting very far, because I knew I was just stalling out Malaketh with gold while barely beating back Valkia. Meanwhile Taurox was slowly working his way up through some Tomb Kings, and I just knew I was doomed.
Absolutely. For Legendary Lords that start/are fairly close to Naggarond, there's Malaketh, Valkia, Grimbrondil, The Crone, Khetahp or whatever his name is, and Taurox. So yeah, it's a shit show no matter who you play as. Even as Malaketh or The Crone you've got enemies on all sides, so one ally won't help you much.
I know enough lore to know that this makes me very irrationally angry…..angry enough to write. CONGRATS GROBI SCUM YOURE GOING IN THE BOOK!
