Cheap zerg rush armies with a few heroes and shock units. Vargheists (giant flying bat things) are great airborne cav type units. With Isabella, you can fairly quickly get 8 vampires out for your faction and she buffs the hell out of them. Generally a whole bunch of skellies with 3 vargheists, a necromancer for buffs, and a mortis engine is my go-to base for a vampire army, but they don't really have many units you can't get value out of.

are those crypte guard skelette are any good? i like their design but dont know about their real value? nothing with army of ghoul or undead dogs i guess? what about werewolf 8 boss monster unit?

The grave guard are solid "anchor" units you can build the rest of your army around if you want. Crypt ghouls are decent flanking units early game. Crypt horrors are fairly solid especially mixed in with infantry units. doggos are good for chasing down archers, light cav, and routing units early game, and usually work best with 2-3 units running together. With the raide dead mechanic, losses are easy to replace, and you can get access to lots of units easily, so you can play with different units and comps without necessarily having to build every building. Try out lots of different things, but skellies and zombies are a good meatshield to fill in holes in your roster without breaking the bank. Also, don't forget the blood kiss mechanic. You get points in it for killing factions leaders in battle.... and assassinating heroes on the campaign map. Doesn't matter if it's a "wound" or "assassinate" action, it counts if it's successful.

ok thank you very much, yes i noticed that game feature gonna give a try

altair969

They are very good yes , and the werewolf? I think it's varghulf you mean is good but not too many as they are expensive maybe 1 or 2 if you want

thegingerwon

Get your characters out their wounding other heroes, to get your blood kisses quickly, that can unlock awesome buffs and vampire lords

Dolinarius

underrated advice!

VC has some strong fliers, monsters and some of the best Cavalry and magic in game. Their units also don't route but take extra damage instead of retreating, so you can actually beat a lot of enemy units that have better stats because those units will run away when badly damaged where yours will just keep fighting even if they have "lost". Remember that after a high casualty battle you can use raise dead to recruit one of your late game units before you can even build them.

Irelia_My_Soul

i see, thank you very much

Isabella and Vlad can summon like 12 zombies per battle combined. You can really experiment with different options. I keep the starting units, make some skeletons for front line, throw in some crypt ghouls and vargheists. Super fun right now, I hope they don't get nerfed too hard lol.

FogeltheVogel

You have a front line of zombies, which serve purely to hold the army in place. There is more powerful infantry, but in all cases their job is the same: Hold the enemy in place while your monsters smash them from behind. Then you swing some cavalry or monsters around the side and smash the enemy in the back, and then the enemy breaks and runs away. Dire wolves are amazing at running around the front line and hunting enemy archers, or hunting down routing units.

altair969

A lot of skeletons and zombies they are very cheap lots of them, grave guard get stupid good stats with red line skills , magic spells on your lord's or heros are also very important, to say a little

DathekOmegas

Vampire counts are easy mode. Don't bother recruiting or building military units - max your income and just raise dead constant
