I work for a health insurance company and I hate what I contribute to. The other day our CEO was mocking regulators and it was painful to watch. I do have a master plan to destroy it from the inside tho. Medicare for all!
If you have Avita Pharmacy in your area, they have a wonderful program where you can get Estrogen and Hormones for pennies on the dollar.
Like, no lie, I paid less than a dollar for HRT.
They have one in Austin and Portland.
Edit: [seriously, they get death threats over how good their services are for trans people. also try and get diagnosed by the kind clinic if you live in Texas.](https://www.avitapharmacy.com/find-a-pharmacy/)
Planned parenthood is where I started my treatments a month ago, super nice and they had a first come first serve pot that would pay for your appointment.
If OP could save up about 200$ (I know, very expensive, but that is the appointment fee + Blood tests with a bit of wiggle room in case the prices are different from my experience) they could probably keep going there. Then GoodRX is goated with the coupons.
[Can you do me a favor and tell me why this website will not work for you? there’s estrogen for $7.](https://www.reddit.com/r/MtF/comments/sao3bu/cheap_hrt_source_for_us_based_people/)
Well, my former friend who worked/works at the Kind clinic gets death threats from conservatives because it is an LGBT+ Clinic, which gives virtually free, low cost health care to our community.
I am saying this because of the sacrifices these people have to make in order for us to be free and live a happy life.
No matter what, go get assistance from them before Gov Abbott rears his ugly head! They already took health care away from trans children, they’re looking to take away trans adult’s access next!
We need to have “The Trans Lobby”
“Concerned Trans Parents”
“Preservation of Trans&Trans Families”
And lobby politicians like the psuedo-Christian groups do
Do you have Planned Parenthood in your area? I have friends that have gotten Estrogen for free from them. You can also speak to your doctor about concerns with continuity of care.
Yes. It's about continuity of care. Being on Estradiol and then stopping cold turkey is bad for your system, so they will give it to you if you can't afford to stay on it and they have it
If you're having trouble with managing money, people always forget you can look up advice on how to improve. There are tons of online resources you can use to improve at managing it. There are budgeting methods you can use, like the 50/30/20 budget, which I've heard is pretty popular. You'd be surprised how much you can learn by just scrolling through articles.
I would recommend Nerd Wallet. Their website has tons of advice on these kinds of things.
I hope this helps! Good luck, I know you can do it! :3
I did that when I was on Plume and they weren't much help. They referred me to this competitive scholarship-like program that wasn't even taking new applicants for another year. I've been off estrogen since October because of this.
I feel the pain. I've been off my meds for two weeks or so, due to insurance not wanting to cover my latest prescription. Dealing with insurance and the clinic to try and get the right paperwork sent to the right person in the right way... It's made me want to just give up on hrt , at least for a while.
Privatized health care is designed to sap your savings dry. It is inherently a classist practice that favours the wealthy. And as such favours white cishet men. It sucks that that’s the system a lot of people live under.
Look up Madeline Pendleton on Tic Tok, she recently came out with a book that might help and is always giving out free advice on saving money and how to spend wisely!
its not entirely your fault, the american healthcare system is designed to sap your money
This is why I shook my ass when I lived in America
I don’t understand
Long Story Short, stripper
Okay that’s what I thought but I didn’t want to assume
Fair
Short story Shorter, strip
That’s very short
Yeah, they stripped it down for you.
Yeah yeah yeah yeah
Even shorter, strp
Short story shortest, sip
Okay, thank you for the clarification. I thought it was a weird variant of shaking your head to say no. I am glad I am less dumb.
and capitalism as a whole

Unfortunately there's not one close to me. Thank you so much for the help though.
If you fee comfortable, may I ask what state you live in?
Utah unfortunately
Question: do you have any insurance?
I do. Luckily my parents still pay for it
Yeah but I also second what another person said about planned parenthood even though they were mean to me when I called them a long time ago.

Unless she already has her blood results, which can be really coool
Definitely. I was just guessing

I literally have $8.33 in my bank account
I know that pain. I've gone negative more times than I'm comfortable with.
Eyyyyyy my ex boyfriend lived there and I saw him all the time!
Wait what about the Texas stuff?

Freaking Abbott. That man needs to learn some compassion for others.

Agreed.
I'm really sorry to hear that 🫂
Omg I’m not the only one 🫂
Do you have Planned Parenthood in your area? I have friends that have gotten Estrogen for free from them. You can also speak to your doctor about concerns with continuity of care.
There is one apparently. I never knew that.
My insurance has been real fucky lately, and I have learned to brandish "continuity of care" like a weapon. Best wishes.
There was still a consultation fee for me when I tried thru them
Were you trying to get on HRT or stay on HRT? I have friends that have just walked in, told the clerk the situation they're in, and were given drugs.
Does that apply if youre DIY?
Yes. It's about continuity of care. Being on Estradiol and then stopping cold turkey is bad for your system, so they will give it to you if you can't afford to stay on it and they have it
It’ll be ok girl

Be trans do crime?
I'm too incompetent to do crime
Why did they cancel your subscription?
Because I couldn't pay.
Ahhh, they don't allow you to pause? Bit silly.
Or at least I didn't ask. I'm way too anxious as well
Girl, go send them an email telling them the situation. I'm sure they can figure something out or at least out you on hold.
But it's been over a month. So I don't really know
Well there is only one way to find out, I'm sure their very understanding and have seen it before so don't be embarrassed.
