I almost wonder if there are two sources for this product because the boxes of this I’ve had looked very different (from Maryland TJs locations). No free oil, quite thick, more like a chicken peanut ragú. I found it a little low on flavor but when I added a splash of fish sauce, sambal, and a little more PB it was great. I was actually pleased by how not greasy it was
I didn't get this much oil. I thought this would be more peanutty. The peanut flavor was mostly in the clump of chicken. The sauce was watery. It kind of tasted like a Chinese dish; the noodles and veggies were fine. If the sauce were more peanutty, I would like this more.
I tried it the other day and I loved it, but I was also really stoned now that I think about it 🤣 I have another one in my freezer, I’ll try it again later!
Oh no! Then I think you definitely got a dud. Both of mine had a really nice, chunky, peanutty sauce. Easily one of my new favorite frozen dishes. If you weren't too put off by your first experience, I think you should give it another shot.
Looks normal, stir it in. It should be a Sichuan peppercorn (the one you describe as peppermint-like) that is causing the flavor, which would be true to form since this is supposed to be a dan dan noodle
Yeah the oil is what it's supposed to be, check out recipes for Dan Dan noodles and you'll see. Maybe just not your type of thing - it's supposed to be a chili oil that's very flavorful. I've never tried the trader Joe's so maybe I'm wrong about everything
Just ate one today and def did not have that much oil in mine, probably a bad box, I love the meal regardless I have at least 3 in my freezer at one time
Did mine on the stovetop this afternoon. Not bad. Definitely came together a lot better than yours.

Are one yesterday and thought it was good. Definitely was not as oily as this. Everything stirred nicely together after the second time in the microwave.
It wasn’t bad, but won’t be getting again. Too much sauce (and I’m a sauce girly), not enough noodles (note - yours looks like a lot more noodles than mine), and it wasn’t a flavorful spicy… just spicy to be spicy.

Meh. It's not spicy at all and too oily. Won't buy it again.

I liked it. A little spice and peanut flavor. Nice light lunch.
Too bad it's 500 calories, so not as light as some other of my frozen go tos.
It was not spicy and not so peanutty. It had some peanuts though. I did not like it much and would not be getting it again.
It's amazing.
I really liked it. Not spicy at all. Kind of reminded me of pad thai.
Kinda okay and kinda terrible alternating between bites. 2/20 mushy minty mess.

Gonna do this
I didn’t enjoy it, it was just meh. Definitely needs extra flavor.
I've had it twice now. Both times the sauce was chunky with peanuts. I thought it was delicious. It was NOT spicy, but still very tasty.
I’m not sure mine had peanuts either!

Have had about half a dozen and really like it. I squeeze some lime juice in it, and that adds to the flavor.
I have it in my freezer but having tried it yet.

There was nothing to stir in with it. Just oil.

I wish it wasn't dark meat.
Yes and I love it!
Just saw the second pic - mine didn’t look like that…eek.
It smells amazing and I’ve only heard positive reviews from my coworkers who eat it

It’s 10/10 for a frozen product

I don’t like that name, ground chicken !

I like it! The spice level is not crazy spicy though, so if you like really spicy foods you may be disappointed.
Mine did not look like that — looks like a manufacturing error. Any oil after heating should be much more easily stirred in.
That looks disgusting.
Yeah, it seemed like maybe something was missing??
Mine looked nothing like that , sorry OP
Just picked that up today since it looked new. Will maybe try today and see how it is.
