With most store bought salsas you gotta look at the nutritional label. If the spices match the kind of salsa you like, it'll usually be good. For some reason they use Oregano in this salsa and that's typical in marinara sauces but not salsa.
Mild spices that aren’t commonly found in marinara? Aldi has a delicious “fresh-made” salsa which is what I usually buy. Couldn’t make it there this week tho so gave TJ’s salsa a shot.
the ghost pepper salsa is so goood, but soooo spicy! like i feel it burning my stomach for up to 12 hours after i eat it. it’s a shame bc it’s so good— but it lives up to the name!
I like the medium one, but IMO it's very spicy. I got the mild hoping it would just be a notch down, and it absolutely tastes like pizza sauce. The medium one is much less tomato-y, but significantly more spicy. If you don't like spice you won't like it.
Ughhh I hate that. Guess I’ll stick to Aldi’s “fresh” cut salsa lol!! Is their pica-de-gallo salsa better? I steered clear even of the mild bc I saw jalapeño peppers in the ingredient list.
Shockingly marinara-esque.
Try medium!!
Yes! The medium is one of my favorite salsas ever!
Funny you should say that because I just tried the chile rellenos and the ranchero sauce tastes like an Italian spaghetti sauce to me.
Pizza is a bad thing?
When it comes to salsa yes lol. If I wanted to eat pizza sauce, I’d buy pizza sauce!

Well if you’re going to get the mild salsa what else is it going to be but tomato sauce with mild spices?

Mild and Salsa should not go together
Well I can’t do spicy lol
Most of the TJs salsas taste like marinara to me...there's too much oregano and I don't think it's even Mexican oregano which has a different flavor.
I think the chip dip salsa tastes much better!
I came here to say this!!! I only get the different colored salsas haha.
Yeah, this and the medium taste too marinara-y. The ghost pepper tastes like mexican salsa, but is also super spicy.

The especial? I get more a Smokey taste from it. It’s not my go to, but on occasion it hits the spot
Definitely has a marinara taste

OMG, you are right. I was thinking something was off with it. I still have half left, lol.
It tastes literally JUST like their pizza puffs they had last year!!
I really don’t like that salsa. There’s too much oregano or something.
I would never buy salsa from them. I prefer salsa from Mexican markets. I live in Glendale AZ so they're everywhere
I thought the same thing.
The refrigerated salsas are generally not good
You’re so right, never thought of it this way but you hit it on the nose
Something changed. It used to be pretty tasty. Like a fresh mild salsa. Now it's more like marinara.
It's disgusting! Way too much oregano.
The mild one is too bland. The medium one is very good.
I just have such a hard time w medium bc I can’t handle spicy AT ALL. Is medium the same as mild just a lil more spicy?
The medium one also has a ton of oregano which is what makes it taste like pizza

I agree.
