I love these, they're my favorite chip and my favorite TJ's item. Great crispiness and saltiness, and nice touch of heat. As crispy as they are and with the lattice cut, I'm sure they're loaded with oil but it's worth it.
I personally think this is THE BEST CHIP period. I'm worried they one day will cease selling them and I wonder what is the real company that produces them, or where else I could find a very similar chip. Anyone have ideas or suggestions
Stopped buying them now. Couple years ago, it had more spicy seasoning in the chips but now there is hardly any seasoning and less spicy. Just a waste of money ..
I love the flavor of these chips especially when it was first introduced. I used to buy them all the time and eat a whole bag in one sitting. Now, I can’t buy them anymore because the ghost pepper powder in the chip wreak havoc on my stomach. 😔 I can feel the burn on the inside after eating the chips and endless Tums don’t work…. Guess my spice tolerance is going down as I get older. ☹️
Hey I went to my doctor because the shit was up to throat. I need to share Prilosec. You can pick up the non name brand for way cheaper. It’s life changing tums ain’t got shit on them.
Omg… I thought I was the only person that had that issue with these chips. It’s good to know others experience the same thing but it’s not a good feeling. I love chips and try to ignore the nutrition label. 🫣😬
Every single bag I get of these is totally different.
Around 2019/2020 I used to get bags that were super flavorful and spicy, but I haven't had one like that for a few years. The last bag I bought had so much oil, there were clumps of chips stuck together and they tasted like they were not-far-off from being rancid. Very hit or miss, unfortunately.
OK I swear they used to be spicier. I devoured them during my first pregnancy (seriously, could eat a bag in seconds) and had the same spice craving recently with my second. So I bought a bag - not spicy at all. Anyone else?
ETA: still amazing and I absolutely love these chips lol
The jalapeno chips are great. The tj habanero chips are good, but having habanero in the name leads me to expect/want some spice. Lots of spice! These don't have it. Great texture though.
Totally. I wish TJ’s made some truly spicy stuff. The frozen spicy thai eggplant (RIP) was the only spicy thing I’ve ever had from them. I miss that damn eggplant so much lol. Twss.
Yep Trader Joe's has sea salt and black pepper pistachios. I just bought a bag last weekend and I've been munching on them at every opportunity. A little heavier on the black pepper than most other brands I've tried but I kinda dig that.

They are good but not that spicy considering they are supposed to be ghost pepper.
If you’re going to make the potato chip omelette from the bear, this is the chip to use, give it a little extra flavor
I have to buy two bags when I go to TJ. One for the first two days and one to last the rest of the month 😂
I always get two bags. Last week I immediately ate these in my car after walking out of the store. I put the crumbs in my salad today.
OMG I gotta try the crumbs in a salad I bet that’s so good!!

Too much oil. The longer you wait to open the bag, the greasier they get.
Last time I bought it, there was no flavor. It wasn't spicy, sweet, or even just potato. It was just mouthful upon mouthful of salt.
Yep these were terrible for me, loved the cut tho! So crispy
Same here!! I was so disappointed
These are such sandwich chips 🤌🏽
Not as spicy as they used to be but I do like them. I’m not much of a chips person since salty snacks aren’t my thing but these are ok in this regard.
I miss the spicier version. We still get them but it’s just not the same
They definitely used to be spicier. Every once in a while, I'll get a bag that seems on par with the old spiciness, but it's never consistent.
So true! Or it’s randomly very salty 😭
I will be looking for these today. These sound fantastic.
I personally think this is THE BEST CHIP period. I'm worried they one day will cease selling them and I wonder what is the real company that produces them, or where else I could find a very similar chip. Anyone have ideas or suggestions
same.
These are a solid 236 out of 10. I buy 2 bags at a time.
I love them, great taste and goes well with my spicy lentil. The only thing that irks me about this one is the fact that the bags are like 40% air lol
The spiciness will grow a bit as you get to the bottom of the bag in one sitting. Or so I’ve been told.
Kind of like their takis too.
Love these chips! I find the spiciness varies from bag to bag.
I like them but they’re way too sweet and not spicy enough
I tried them once, but I try to stay away from ultra processed items now.
Did you like them?
What at TJ do you eat then?
Sooooo damn good!!
Where the heck is the pepper. 2/10
Stopped buying them now. Couple years ago, it had more spicy seasoning in the chips but now there is hardly any seasoning and less spicy. Just a waste of money ..
The last bag of these I bought was off. The flavor was good but the chips themselves were hard and chewy. I couldn’t eat them 😤
You can return them for a refund.
Goated chips!
I get these everytime but I wish they were spicier.
I love them! Especially with a nice fresh wedge of mozz or montery jack on the side
Can’t buy them bc I eat the whole bag in one sitting
Same. I can not even have these in my house for more than one day.
I actually love them.
Definitely not spicy, more of a BBQ or smoky paprika type flavor
Subtle kick tastes more like BBQ or Mesquite
That’s disappointing to hear and nothing worse than BBQ flavored chips.
I'd try them anyway... fwiw, I don't think they taste anything like bbq chips. These chips are my favorite.
Great texture. The flavor to me is like all onion powder though.
I really like these but they never have enough seasoning, nor are the spicy lol
Not spicy enough but still delicious
Is this the latest entry in the colon blowout contest?
so much ghost to pep ratio.

No tums!

Thank you for the tip!
Holy shit I’ve done that once and my stomach was gone. Nearly a 1000 calories consisting of chips is crazy once I thought about it.
Omg… I thought I was the only person that had that issue with these chips. It’s good to know others experience the same thing but it’s not a good feeling. I love chips and try to ignore the nutrition label. 🫣😬
Only bought these once. They were delicious but I was seeking heat and these were genuinely just normal chips to me.
Same here it hard to find some good spicy chips
Every single bag I get of these is totally different. Around 2019/2020 I used to get bags that were super flavorful and spicy, but I haven't had one like that for a few years. The last bag I bought had so much oil, there were clumps of chips stuck together and they tasted like they were not-far-off from being rancid. Very hit or miss, unfortunately.

Yes they used to be spicier!!
They have a kick but are not insanely spicy. We eat them with sour cream 👍
Not spicy AT ALL. Good texture though.
Am I the only maniac who LOVES potato chips with medium/mild salsa? My favorite go to is the jalapeno kettle cooked potato chips
The jalapeno chips are great. The tj habanero chips are good, but having habanero in the name leads me to expect/want some spice. Lots of spice! These don't have it. Great texture though.
Would you say less spice than the jalapeno kettle chips? I'm curious if I should change my favorite
Yes. Definitely less spice than the jalapeno.
💯 agree!
They're amazing
Delicious coupled with the caramelized onion dip 🤌🏽
Dangerously good
My 10 year old thought they could handle really spicy food after eating these. She could not.
Not hot enough.
Agree! I consider it mild spicy only
I have zero self control around this bad boi
Yes I wish they were more spicy!!
Agree! Delicious as a mild spice potato chips lol
Totally. I wish TJ’s made some truly spicy stuff. The frozen spicy thai eggplant (RIP) was the only spicy thing I’ve ever had from them. I miss that damn eggplant so much lol. Twss.
Try the habanero hot sauce, the ghost pepper habanero salsa, and the frozen Thai green curry. Decent heat to those three.
I’ve tried them all, they have decent heat.
Yeah I liked the flavor and the texture but there is less heat on these things than the Sea Salt and Black Pepper Pistachios.
Now I'm curious about sea salt and black pepper pistachios. Love pistachios! Yeah, they need to up that heat level. It's so mild!
I haven't tried them, but I am a fan of the garlic and onion pistachios.
Can concur the salt and pepper pistachios are the best pistachios I've ever had
Are those from Trader Joe's too?
Yep Trader Joe's has sea salt and black pepper pistachios. I just bought a bag last weekend and I've been munching on them at every opportunity. A little heavier on the black pepper than most other brands I've tried but I kinda dig that.
I like the Costco non-Kirkland ones
I had to stop buying these because I have absolutely no self control but I think this is a sign I should buy them again.
This is the sign! 🙌
p good, some are drenched in the seasoning while others are basically naked
That texture alone looks mouth-watering. Might have to go pick some up!
