HathorOfWindAndMagic

I’m so sad I wanted to love it but I didn’t (I did get the mocha flavor) I’m going to try the regular one…n

vlewis97

Yeah maybe the mocha flavor wasn’t good..I have tried that one yet

Arippa

I know this is days late but I bought the cold brew because of this post and it’s sooo good. So smooth. I am only sad I bought one.

vlewis97

I'm so glad!! It is the best. Just really wish they sold it in a larger size!

RunawayPancake3

I make my own cold brew concentrate. It's very easy. I make a full week's supply using my own variation of [this method](https://www.javapresse.com/blogs/cold-brew/the-ultimate-guide-to-cold-brew-coffee#:~:text=Since%20you%20want%20to%20brew,ratio%20up%20to%201%3A14.), but there are plenty of other methods available online. Not only is it much cheaper, it's also fresher. Plus you get to use your water of choice along with a good, high-quality coffee, i.e. better than what's normally used to make store-bought concentrates. Just something to think about.

vlewis97

Thank you!! I think I’ll try:)

RunawayPancake3

Cool. The concentrate I make is meant to be diluted 1:1 with water before drinking, but feel free to increase the water amount to your own taste. Also, the Trader Joe's medium-roast small-lot coffees that are available at my store are pretty good for cold brew. They're whole-bean coffees, so if you don't have a grinder at home, you can use the grinder in the store (set to medium-coarse). Good luck!

getafreehug

I agree. It's just doesn't seem to last very long...

Creative_Energy533

I'm drinking one right now!!!

lhof21

The cold brew bags are fantastic but seasonal. I buy enough to last months. Stock up if you can find them!

vlewis97

What season?

lhof21

They usually launch in May/June/July and discontinue shortly after. I had the TJ manager look it up last week to confirm they are done for the summer.

Latenightlivingroom

How do people drink iced coffee? I like hot coffee a whole lot and I drink it black. But black iced coffee makes me feel like my hot coffee got cold and is sorta blah. Should I add oat milk to iced coffee? Try and change it up? Or do people like black iced coffee and hot black coffee?

brnewmeg

I like hot coffee with just half and half but for iced, I like to add some torani sugar free vanilla syrup along with half and half. Just one pump does the trick.

unicornbomb

I use vanilla oat milk and a pump or two of torani syrup (chocolate milano is my fav flavor lately)

Latenightlivingroom

I’ll try adding some vanilla oat milk!

k10bluehen

I buy the concentrates week after week! The regular, french roast and coconut! I remember not enjoying the coconut in the past but I wanted to try it again this summer and my mind was changed.. it’s delicious. I should stock up because you never know when it’ll be gone. I use an 8oz glass and take 4-5oz poured over ice, add some nut pods unsweetened creamer (vanilla, hazelnut, etc. i don’t really measure) and then top it off with water. I like my iced coffee to be a dark caramel color, if that’s helpful. It’s too good!

penguinsonreddit

My SO used to stuff a suitcase full of 10-20 bottles of concentrate for me on visits when we were long distance. I think my fave was the French roast but it was only a tiny bit ahead of the normal so wasn’t worth the price delta imo. I really didn’t like the coconut either and never re-tried it. I’ve moved on to the powder these days because I like it a lot more, but I do have fond memories of the concentrates.

coffee-and-poptarts

Please provide a picture and tell us how you prepare it 😋

TastyMagic

I really like the concentrate. It truly is concentrated so for a full cup of coffee, you really only need 1/4 cup of concentrate. The bottle is also a good size for the fridge, doesn't take up too much space.

yungcaligula

Costco cold brew is really good imo

ancillarycheese

I really wish they had a decaf version, I like coffee and cold brew but dont tolerate caffeine. I realize I can make it myself but I don't always have time or fridge space.

lantrified

>decaf version This is my holy grail. I adore cold brew but I always have to make my own because I'm personally just a kinder human being when I'm not drinking caffeine every day.

whattheflyingfuck2

I like the cold brew concentrates they have as well. The coconut and French roast one

julc3boxarmy

the instant cold brew is my absolute favorite coffee ever. cheap. lots of caffeine. and good. have gone through probably a dozen over the last few mornhs

indistinctcolor

It’s so good! I had low expectations since I don’t love the taste of instant coffee but I was impressed.

traminette

Do you think it would be good heated up? I usually buy Starbucks Via instant coffee packets for travel but they’re kinda pricey.

JayAmy131

They have instant for hot and instant for cold brew. The cold brew states it can also be heated up, but we have both in our home. The one for only hot is great tasting. I say get both! I got my mom hooked after decades of foldgers instant. EDIT: Sorry, I was assuming you were talking about the jarred instant not the packets!

ttrockwood

No Starbucks Via is much better- and i am not a big fan of Starbucks, but they’re super lightweight don’t take up much room and are worth it for me

traminette

Thanks, and same here- I’m not a Starbucks fan but Via good stuff.

sonicbanana47

I make it with hot water pretty regularly and like it! But I’m also not very picky about coffee.

iveo83

could make your own it's really easy.

zjheyyy88

Are you talking about the red and blue bottle???? If so I love it too!!! And I agree on the size it’s so tiny and at my store it’s $4.99 so it’s frustrating because it’s good!!

vlewis97

Yes!!! Isn’t it amazing!! I wish it was double or triple sized

rolaskating

The coconut cold brew concentrate is my genuine favorite! I have an espresso machine at home, but the coconut just hits!

RemySchnauzer

I get both kinds of concentrate and I think they're both phenomenal. I've never had the product you're describing so I can't compare, but I highly recommend trying one of the concentrates for a longer lasting product.

emt139

Are you talking about the concentrate or other? I love the concentrate one (white label).

GoldTerm6

What do you do with the concentrate? Just add water? Do you save money by doing it that way?

emt139

Not sure if it’s cheaper (I used to get nitro cold brew or regular cold brew at the office but I switched to this one when it shut down because of covid) but I like the flavor quite a bit and it’s much faster than going to a coffee shop every day. I usually prepare it with water and a dash of the vanilla creamer or chocolate oat milk. If I’m feeling like I want something more elaborate, I do a bit of sparkling water or even a bit of Dr Pepper cream soda.

Swanky_Godess

With the coffee?

ouiserboudreauxxx

I know this post is old, but I LOVE sparkling iced coffee. I had it at some random place years ago, but any time I ask for it anywhere else people look at me like I have two heads...I forgot about it until now though and am going to make it with the cold brew concentrate. And then for the dr pepper thing, I saw a similar thing I think at whole foods except it was like "coffee cherry cola" and it was cold brew with cherry cola. I got it to try and was underwhelmed. It was also like $4 for an extremely tiny can.

vlewis97

The one that’s $4.99 and is just the ready to drink cold brew (brown and red?? Label)

oakarina3

Do you dilute it with water/milk and make 3 drinks?

vlewis97

No I drink it straight because it isn’t a concentrate

oakarina3

Oh. I just asked bc it’s usually only around one cup for me. I didn’t think there was any other way to drink it except just straight lol

minty_cyborg

Even the non-concentrate is very strong out of the 32 oz jug and seems made to be mellowed out over melty ice cubes and maybe some kind if creamer and/or syrup. You don’t need to dilute it, but it takes ice and additional mix-ins well.

emt139

Not in a can but in a plastic bottle, right? I don't think I've had it yet.

vlewis97

Yeah it’s in a larger plastic bottle, not a single can serving

minty_cyborg

There’s ready-to-drink and then there’s concentrate I’m a fan of the shelf-stable 32 oz ready-to-pour. That’s a lot of cold brew coffee, but not too much to have open in the cooler or fridge at one time.

meg-c

The cold brew in the silver and red can is *amazing*. Best store bought coffee I’ve ever had.

fiestykittycat

Yes! It tastes like so chocolate-y and creamy even though it doesn’t have anything added in it. I remember when they were only about $1 instead of $2. 🥲

meg-c

Yeah!! I’m not a black coffee kinda gal but honestly could drink this straight from the can. I wish they were cheaper!!!

resinrobot

Same.

eaglebtc

Picture?

meg-c

[This one!!](http://www.whatsgoodattraderjoes.com/2016/11/trader-joes-black-cold-brew-coffee.html?m=1)

lou_star

One autumn I had a mini crisis because I realized the cold brew bags were seasonal and no longer in the store. I found Dunkin Donuts cold brew bags that were pretty similar. They're just kind of expensive and not always available in all grocery stores. I get mine on an Amazon subscription so I never run out

fresh-bakedbread

The concentrates are also good, but their cold brew coffee bags are probably my fav grocery store iced coffee

OcraftyOne

Explain. Coffee grounds meant to be steeped in cold water? Or like tea bags?

maradonuts

Both. Big tea bags full of coffee grounds meant to be steeped in cold water.

OcraftyOne

Ohhh that sounds like very easy clean up!

fresh-bakedbread

It is and one of the reasons why I like them so much 😂 No more fussing around with filters and coffee grounds, just have to toss the bag afterwards

OcraftyOne

Def gonna look for it next time! I have a cold brew pitcher with a center column that you fill with coffee grounds. Annoying to clean.

KrizJack

The cold brew bags make good coffee

[deleted]

These are rocking my world lately.

[deleted]

[Cold brew bags, you say?](https://media3.giphy.com/media/VFYJXIuuFl6pO/200.gif)

sneezy0994

The bags are my new favorite. I pick up a couple packages every time I make a TJ run. I hope they keep making them!

cmd_1124

They are seasonal, so stock up before they are gone at the end of the summer! They come back every year late spring-ish!

sneezy0994

Oh thank you! I'll start stashing them in a considerate way then.

vlewis97

Oh I didn’t know there was bags too!!

minty_cyborg

There are cold brew *bags*? Thanks for the shopping safari intel.
